What did you get yourself into

Shotzi belongs to @Storm-Shadows7
Thank you for letting me use him in this story!

Sparrow groans when he opened his eyes and the only thing that greeted him was the light of morning. He sighed and sat up. He hadn't realized how much he will miss his brothers, despite their insanity. From Warrior's lectures and walking everyone up to go do their mission. To Sleeper's easy going nature and Jyd'itt's quick tactical thinking. He even missed his arguing with Greed about some injury and the right medical call, even though Greed knew very little about medicine or being a medic.

Yes, he missed his brothers, yet, they all made their choice. They agreed to it and went their separate ways. That didn't help with the pain of missing them, he could almost hear Sleeper laughing at him for that. If that had happened though Jyd'itt would often put him back into place with quick logic. Yes, as much as they drove him insane at times he still cared about them and missed them. Warrior often had told him that his job as a medic it had made him care more deeply for others.

Sparrow pushed himself out of bed and pushed the thoughts of his team out of his head. He did have things he planned on taking care of. He stood up his bare feet hit the cold floor of his bedroom, he had bought a small four-room apartment. A bedroom, a living room/kitchen, an office, and a spare bedroom that had two beds. He went into his bathroom and did what he had to do, then headed to the kitchen to find food. There was a bit there but not much, Sparrow made a quick note to go shopping later today but he went about making a quick cup of caff and grabbing some food he could find.

He yawns and goes to his office to file some things, he had a job as a medical consultant. Doctors who had issues will call him he'd look over the files and give them the answers they needed. A few times he had to for to the hospital and look over the patients themselves. He enjoyed it, he was a great medic and he was grateful that he could still do that and no one there cared he was a clone. They cared about actually helping people no matter were the help ones from. Also, the job pays very very well.

A few hours later after a long time of filling out paperwork and filing it, he eventually got out of the house to get some more food. He even if had den over five months since he and his squad split he was still used to having some sort of rations always at hand. Even though Sleeper eventually took all the rations and used them to make stews. They were great and a few times Sparrow had helped him, Sparrow wasn't the greatest cook but his food was more edible the half-frozen multicolored rations that looked like it was starting to move. He shook his head though pushing the memories of food that could have moved out his head as he walked down the street. It was later afternoon and the sun just slowly began to make it's decent over the horizon.

As he walked back home he noticed that someone was watching him from an alleyway. He turns his head and walked over slowly. He saw the person who was staring at him was a broad-shouldered golden Zabrak. He looked hungry, hurt, and a bit scared of him. Sparrow raised his hands and approached slowly. "Easy. I am not going to hurt you," He said in a steady voice. He reaches slowly into one of his shopping bags and takes out an apple. He holds it out to him and the Zabrak inches over before taking the apple and scarfing it down. Everything, peel, seeds, core, and stem. As that happened Sparrow looked at his wounds, thankfully they were not to bad.

"I'm Sparrow," He said gently to the Zabrak when he finished. "I am a medic, I can bandage your wounds if you want. Also, I can get you some more food."

The Zabrak stared at him for a few moments before he nodded and muttered, "O-okay."

Sparrow nods and stands up moving the other bag of food to one arm and offering him a hand up. He took it and Sparrow lead him down the street towards his apartment. The Zabrak stuck close to him as they walked. They got inside and Sparrow put the bags of food on the table. "Alright. Let's clean up your wounds and get you some clean clothes."  He said and leads the Zabrak to the spare bedroom. He hands him some fresh clothes that he kept in there and said, "Alright. Change into these while I go get some bandages and somethings to take care of your wounds."

The golden Zabrak was hesitant before he slowly took them and Sparrow just gives him a small smile and leaves the room letting the Zabrak change. As Sparrow walked down the hall he began to wonder if it was the best idea to bring a stranger into his house. He pushed the idea away though, the poor guy needed some help and even if he was dangerous Sparrow was more then capable of defending himself. Sparrow gets the things he needs and comes back to the bedroom.

He knocks on the door and asked, "Are you done? Can I come in?"

"Yeah," Came a gruff reply. Sparrow walked in and set the things he needed down at the edge of the bed.

"What's your name?" He asked as he sat down next to him and picks up a wet cloth to clean his wounds some.

"Shotzi," The Zabrak said as he holds out his arm for Sparrow.

Sparrow nods and takes his arm gently cleaning the wounds. Shotzi hissed a little at the cloth going near the wound but Sparrow just continued to work and said, "Sorry. It may sting a little bit."

Shotzi nodded a bit as Sparrow patched up his wounds. "Thank you, Sir," Shotzi said.

"Please, just call me Sparrow." He replied. "I'm not the greatest cook to warn you but I can make you some soup." He then offers. Shotzi nods very quickly at that.

"Alright. It will take a bit though." Sparrow warned as he left the room to make it. Shotzi soon followed and sat at the table as Sparrow went to work.

"You're a clone?" Shotzi asked after a few moments of silence.

"I am," He replied.

"and you're free?" He asked tilting his head to the side somewhat.

"Yes," Sparrow replied as he worked. He saw Shotzi's slightly confused expression and he then said, "I was part of the republic but due to something that had happened I left and my team and I went our separate ways."

"How did you get away?" Shotzi then asked after another few moments of quiet.

"I just left," He replied. "Someone did help me though and made sure that the republic won't look for me."

"Who?" Shotzi then asked.

"A Jedi general who is very kind," Sparrow replied as he sat down across from him as the soup cooked.

"I thought that Jedi were cruel to the clones," He said.

Sparrow hid his small wince and said, "Some are and can be cruel. However, I believe that no matter who or what someone is they should be given the benefit of the doubt before people judge them."

Shotzi nodded and the two sat in silence for a bit before Shotzi started to ask questions about him again. Sparrow answered what he could and they continued to talk as Sparrow got him his soup.

Sparrow didn't ask anything about Shotzi's past he just let Shotzi ask what he wanted too. He enjoyed the soup greatly they both are and once Sparrow got up Shotzi ended up following him.

"I'm just going to do some work," he tells Shotzi. "Feel free to do what you please." He then goes into his office and Shotzi went exploring Sparrow's home.

Sparrow came out a few hours later and found Shotzi sound asleep on the couch. He just grabbed a blanket and laid it over. He went to his room and went to bed.

~~~
When Sparrow opened his eyes the first thing he realized was he smelled smoke. He jumped out of bed and ran to the kitchen to find Shotzi struggling to make eggs.
"I am sorry, I wanted to thank you," he said looking over at him.
"No, it's okay," Sparrow said. "Just waking up to smoke is a bit startling. Look why don't we clean up and I can show you how to make them."
Shotzi nodded with a smile as Sparrow began cleaning up the mess. Shotzi did help a bit and it did take a while for them to clean up. Yet, once they finished cleaning Sparrow went about showing Shotzi how to make the eggs. Shotzi watched with interest and Sparrow let him try it while he finished up cleaning. Sparrow began making the caff he yawns a bit and sat down.
"You look tired," Said Shotzi as he put the plates of eggs down on the table.
"The work I do is tiring," He replied with a yawn.
"You said you were a medic?" Shotzi asks sitting down across from him.
"Yep," Sparrow replied leaning back in his chair and rubbing his face.
"Can...can I stay here?" Shotzi then asked suddenly. "I don't have anywhere else to go."
"It's alright you can," He said. "But I may have to move from time to time. My work can take me to a few different places on the planet or elsewhere."
"But I can stay?" Shotzi asked.
"Yes. You can," Sparrow said.
"Thank you very much," Shotzi said smiling.
Sparrow nods and stands up getting the caff. He could hear Greed's voice in the back of his head yelling at him for being an idiot and letting a random strange come into his home. He pushed that away though, he had a big heart and he couldn't help that.
"What are you drinking?" Shotzi asked as Sparrow sat down with his mug.
"Caff," He replied. "Want to try some?"
"Sure," Shotzi said and Sparrow got up and handed him a mug of it. He made a face and pushed the cup away.
Sparrow laughed hard and said, "Yeah. It's not for everybody."
~~~

"When will you be back?" Shotzi asked him as Sparrow was getting ready to go out.

"Late," Sparrow said as he checked everything in his bag.  A few weeks had past and everything was working out with the two roommates. Shotzi enjoyed Sparrow's company and Sparrow was actually happy not to be alone all the time. Sparrow taught Shotzi a few things about cooking and helped him with everything else he needed.  Shotzi nodded as Sparrow headed out the door. Shotzi sighed and settled back on the couch and picked up the datapad that Sparrow let Shotzi use.

A few hours had passed and Sparrow heading home. The person he needed to check out just had a bad virus but that was it. The doctor who first looked him over was new and fresh out of medical school so he wasn't fully prepared for that. Sparrow yawned but then he stopped waking since as he was walking he heard something. He closed his eyes listening. He heard running footsteps and then a door slamming. Sparrow looked to the old building that he was passing and walked over to it. He reaches into his pocket and pulled out a knife he always carried him.

He pushes open the door and walked in his eyes running over everything he passed. He stepped carefully over the old metal floor. He walked to a window at the end of the hall and saw a hooded figure running away. He was about to go after them when he heard quiet moaning and muffled cries. He looked to where that sound was coming from and headed that way quickly. He had to kick the door down that was in the room that the sound was coming from. He walked in and his eyes widened at the person who was tied up.

WARNING A BIT GRAPHIC AND GORY IF THAT BOTHERS YOU STOP RIGHT NOW! THE PART WILL END WHEN YOU SEE THE NEXT SET OF BLOCK LETTERS!

There on the floor was a clone that was very banged up. His eyes were gone and his skin on his face was so badly scared, bloody, and torn it looked like it belonged to a dead person. One arm was bound behind him but his other was out in front of him. The arm that was out in front of him was just bone...there was no skin, muscle tissue or veins on the arm at all. It was just his bone that was attached to his shoulder.  His clothes were just shreds of fabric hanging over his thin frame. From what Sparrow saw of the rest of his body that too was wounded and very bloody.

GRAPHIC BIT IS OVER. YOU MAY CONTINUE ON NOW.

Sparrow walked closer and the clone moved a bit and cried. Sparrow walked over and said in a slow steady voice, "Shh. It's okay. I am here to help."

The clone turns a bit to his voice and mumbles something. Sparrow was able to unbind the clone and he carefully lifted him up. The clone cries out but Sparrow covered his mouth a little not wanting to draw attention from anyone else that may be in the building. "Shh. It's okay, I am going to care for you. Just hang in there." Sparrow said softly to him as he slowly carries him off the building and walked quickly home with the injured clone in his arms. He would have started taking care of the wounds there but he didn't want to take the chance of anyone else being there opening a wound of his that could get infected. He also wanted to have a sanitized work area which he did have at home.

He hurries into his the building and to his apartment. He opens the door with his foot and it banged open scaring the living daylights out of Shotzi who had fallen asleep on the couch. He saw Sparrow come in with the clone and frowned instantly.

"What happened?" He asked as he followed him to the extra bedroom that Shotzi used.

Sparrow laid down the clone on the extra bed and began checking him over. "I found him, he's badly hurt. I need to get my supplies, stay with him." Sparrow orders as he leaves the room throwing off his jacket and going to get the supplies he needed. Sparrow came back quickly and began working on just cleaning the wounds first.

"Look. I am sorry but I need space to work, you can stay in my room tonight since I need room to work." He said. Shotzi nodded softly and left the room.

Sparrow went back to cleaning the wounds, unfortunately, what would have taken maybe two hours ended up taking longer since as Sparrow was stitching up part of a wound the clone jerked injuring himself more and opening up said wound. Yet, after several hours Sparrow had gotten his wounds clean, get bacta patches where the needed to be, stitch some wounds up and give him a few strong painkillers. Then bandaged him all his wounds up making sure the ones on his arms and face were not so tight. Also that the ones on his face went around the breathing tubs. He puts an IV in his arm and sets up a small heart monitor so he can check his heart rate. At some point, he'll need to take him to a real hospital get some better scans done. However, this was the best he could do for now.

Sparrow rubbed his face some and cleaned up the mess that was scattered around the room. After he gets things orderly he goes to check on the clone. Thankfully the painkillers had kept him in a peaceful sleep and his breathing was alright as of now. Sparrow sat down in a chair in the room and lets out a breath. Sparrow checked the time and it was just after sunrise. He sighs and stands up making himself some caff.

"Is he okay?" Shotzi asked.

Sparrow looked over at him and he said, "He will be okay. He needs rest and a lot of care."

"I can help," Shotzi said.

"Thank you and I will be needing your help on keeping an eye on him. I also need to make a few calls." He says. "Can you sit with him for a bit?"

"Of course," Shotzi sand and ran to sit next to the clone.

Sparrow went to his office and pulled out a comm of his drawer. He took a breath and turned it on. He waited for a bit before a voice came on and said, "Jyd'itt. Been a while, Sparrow,"

"It has...I came across something interesting. I found an injured clone...he was badly wounded but I did see a person running away from the building I found him in. The person had on a cloak that had an interesting emblem on the back. I was wondering if you wanted to help." Sparrow said.

"I would love to," Jyd'itt said. "Want me to call the others?"

"Yes," He said with a smile.
