Y/N's P.O.V

After following uncle Luke back up the mountain to our training spot.

Uncle Luke starts to talk more about the Jedi as a whole, including the Jedi of the past.

Luke: Lesson Two. Now that the Jedi are extinct, they are romanticised, deified. But if you strip away the myth and look at their deeds, the Jedi's legacy is failure.

I shake my head.

Y/N: That's not true.

Luke: Yes it is, kid. At the height of their power they allowed Darth Sidious to rise up create the Empire and wipe them all out. And one of those Jedi Master's was the reason Darth Vader was allowed to exist.

Y/N: Yeah, and if I remember correctly you're the Jedi that saved him. You believed that my grandfather wasn't evil to the core, you believed that there was still good in him that he could be brought back to the light.

Luke: And I became a legend. As you know Y/N for many years there was balance. But then I saw. Ben.

Uncle Luke then looks to Rey.

Luke: His brother, my nephew with that mighty Skywalker blood. In my hubris, I thought could train both Solo brother's and pass on my strengths. My wife Mara Jade and I took Ben and dozen other students and began a training temple. Then later on Y/N joined us and went to train under Kyle Katarn.

Rey's P.O.V

Once I heard Luke say wife I then knew that Luke's wife was the aunt that Y/N mentioned briefly before and brushed it off.

Luke: Han was well he was Han about it, but Leia she Trusted me with both of her son's.

Luke then stands up and faces away from us.

Luke: By the time I had realised I was no match for the darkness inside him. It was too late.

Y/N and I looked at each other as we both wanted to know the same thing.

Rey: What happened?

Luke goes on to tell us how he went to confront Ben the night the temple was destroyed and that Ben had turned on him and tried to kill him.

He also tells us when he woke up all of his students were dead aside from the few that left with Ben.

After Luke told us this I look over to Y/N to see that he had tears in his eyes. In that moment I knew that the night temple was destroyed had more of an effect on him then he let's on.

I stand up and go to Y/N and wipe away his tears.

Luke: I failed because I was Luke Skywalker. Jedi Master. A legend.

Luke turns to us.

Rey: The galaxy may need a legend right now. And I need someone to help me find my place in all of this. And you didn't fail Kylo. Kylo failed you, but I won't.

Y/N then puts his hand on my shoulder.

Y/N: We won't. Because if we do then that means that my Master, aunt Mara and all the Jedi back at the temple died for nothing, and I can't have that.

Y/N's P.O.V

After a moment of silence we hear a noise coming from outside.

We go outside to see a few boat going towards a village.

Rey: What is that?

Luke: It's a tribe from an island nearby. They come here once a month to take from the caretakers.

Rey: Come on, we've got to stop them.

Y/N: Yeah let's go.

Rey and I go to leave but Luke stops us.

Luke: Do you two know what a true Jedi Knight would do right now? Nothing.

I feel the angry rise up in me.

Y/N: This isn't a teachable moment. We have to help them.

Rey: Damn right. Come on.

Rey goes to the exit.

Y/N: Nah, screw the long way.

I look to the edge of the mountain.

Y/N: I've got an idea.

Luke: Y/N don't...

Before he can finish I jump off the edge and use my robotic hand to control my descent.

Luke's P.O.V

After seeing Y/N jump of the edge it just reminds me how much like Han he is.

Luke: I hate it when he does that.

Rey comes over to me.

Luke: He's just like his father. He never looks before he leaps.

I see Rey smile.

Rey: Quite literally in this case.

Luke: Well, Rey, there is the old saying. Like father, like son.

Y/N's P.O.V

I land at the bottom of the mountain I activate my saber and run to the village.

As I get to the village entrance I slice open the door and run in to see that there is a party going on and that the other islanders aren't raiders.

I even see Chewie in there with BD and R2. I then deactivate my lightsaber.

Y/N: Really guys?

(Five minutes later)

After five minutes Rey and Luke show up and I then realised that it was a test.

Luke walks off and I follow him.

Y/N: So, these raiders are about to raid huh?

Luke looks to me.

Luke: In a way.

Y/N: Is this a joke!?

Luke then starts laughing.

Luke: Sorry, I tried to stop you, but you ran so fast.

I walk closer.

Y/N: I thought they were in danger. I was trying to do something.

Luke: And that's what the Resistance needs kid, not an old religion. Do you understand now?

I feel the angry inside me about to burst.

Y/N: I understand that my real friends are really dying! Now I don't know what happened to the real Luke Skywalker I used to look up to, but you're clearly not him anymore.

I then leave to head back to the Falcon.

As I'm walking back to the Falcon I feel Kylo's presence again.

Y/N: I'd rather not do this right now.

Kylo Ren: Yeah, me too.

I turn to see Kylo Ren standing in what I assume is his quarters.

Y/N: Why did you hate dad so much? Why do you hate me? Because I mean we were raised together, we played together, we fought together. Don't you remember any of that?

Kylo Ren: I do remember all that and I don't hate you.

Y/N: Then why did you hate dad? He loved you! He gave a shit about you! So why did you kill him!?

Kylo Ren: I didn't hate him and I killed him because I had to.

After a moment of silence Kylo spoke again.

Kylo Ren: Did Luke tell you what happened that night?

Y/N: Yes!

Kylo Ren: No did he tell you what really happened that night?

Kylo then goes on to explain that when Luke went to confront him Ben woke up and Luke was gonna try and kill him in his sleep, so he defended himself by pulling the hut down on top of him.

My eyes widen at this as I felt Ben, the real Ben come through.

Ben: That's what happened.

Before I could reply our connection was cut off and Ben was gone.

I then decide to head back to the Falcon and meditate hoping it'd help me figure out if that was the real Ben Solo talking or Kylo Ren.
