Chapter 33: A Talk With Sabine
Y/N's P.O.V
After taking down the robot, Hera flies the Ghost down into the hanger of the temple.
We leave the Ghost.
Y/N: Thanks for the save back there, Hera.
Hera: No problem. I'm just glad we got there when we did.
Sabine: Well, if you had gotten then a few seconds later, we'd be dead right now.
We walk into the command centre to see Kanan and Master Cordova with an Anchorite.
Eno: Ah, you're back. Are you all alright?
Y/N: We're fine, Master Cordova.
Kanan: That's good. Where's Brother Armias?
I pull out the drive Brother Armias gave to me.
Y/N: He didn't make it, but he gave his life for this.
I hand the drive to Kanan.
Kanan: Brother Armias was a good man. And he'll be missed.
Eno: And he made sure we have all this data.
Y/N: Yeah... I'm sorry, Kanan.
Kanan: It's okay, Y/N. You tried your best, I know that.
Sabine: He's right, Y/N.
Y/N: Yeah, maybe.
Kanan looks to Zeb.
Kanan: Zeb, what's the Empire's position?
Zeb: They're gone. I guess taking out that giant robot pushed them back.
Kanan: Good. That means Brother Armias didn't die for nothing.
Hera: That's good.
Eno: I will work on extracting the data from this disc.
Y/N: BD-2 can help you with that. Right, buddy?
BD-2: (Happily beeps.)
Eno: Thank you, both. I'd appreciate the help.
Kanan: Thank you, Master Cordova. Come on, everyone. Let's leave and give Master Cordova some space.
All of us leave, while Master Cordova and BD work on the drive.
We go outside to enjoy a nice view.
(Two hours later)
It's now dark out and we're all sat outside around a fire.
We're telling stories and just enjoying each other's company.
Bode is cleaning his blaster and Jacen watches him.
He spins the blaster in his hand.
Jacen: Whoa.
Bode: You like that, buddy? Watch this.
He spins in his hand again and holsters it.
Jacen: That's awesome! Can you teach me how to shoot, Bode?
Bode looks to Kanan and Hera.
Bode: I mean if it's okay with your parents.
Y/N: It might not be a bad idea, guys. Next to Sabine, Bode is the best shot I've ever seen.
Hera: Well, you won't catch me complaining.
Kanan: Me neither. Thank you, Bode.
Bode: Of course.
Kanan looks at me.
Kanan: So, you've been causing alot of problems for the Empire, huh?
Y/N: Yeah. I've just been trying to help people, keep them safe. I just don't want anyone to lose their family the way I lost mine.
He nods.
Kanan: I understand, more than you know. The Jedi, my Master, my Padawan, they were the only family I had. Until I got this one that is.
Y/N: Me too.
He smiles and puts his hand on my shoulder.
Kanan: I'm proud of the Jedi you've become, Y/N. I know your mother would be too. I foresee you'll become a powerful Jedi Knight.
I smile.
Y/N: Thanks, Kanan.
After talking some more the other's head inside back inside to check on Master Cordova.
I stand up and see Bode looking out at the view.
I go over and stand next to him.
Y/N: Hey, man. You okay?
He sighs.
Bode: Yeah, I'm good. I'm just thinking about my little sister.
Bode has a younger sister. Her name is Kata and she's all the family he's got left.
Y/N: It's hard being away from her, huh?
Bode: Yeah, it is. I mean I've got people lookin' after her, but I miss her everyday. She's only a couple of years older than Jacen. Do you ever think about your sister?
Y/N: Sometimes. I just wish I knew if she was alive.
Bode: Do you think she is?
Y/N: I'd like say yes, but... I don't know. If she is, I hope she's happy and safe.
Bode: I get that. I just feel like I'm letting Kata down. I just hope she doesn't think I've abandoned her.
We face each other.
Y/N: I'm sure she doesn't think that. You're out here fighting so that she can have a future where she's free. So, she'll understand, Bode. She will.
He smiles.
Bode: Thank you, brother.
He and I hug.
We pull away as Sabine comes back out.
He decides to leave.
Bode: I better go and record a message for Kata. She'll get worried if I don't send her a message.
Y/N: Alright, man.
I look out at the view and Sabine stands next to me.
Y/N: It's crazy how beautiful the desert looks at night.
Sabine: Yeah, it is. My dad always told me that there is often beauty in emptiness.
Y/N: Your dad sounds like a wise man.
Sabine: He is.
I sigh.
Y/N: Sabine.
She and I look at each other.
Sabine: Yeah?
Y/N: I've been wanting to tell you something for a long time now.
Sabine: Okay.
Y/N: I have strong feelings for you. I love you, Sabine. And I didn't say anything before because I was afraid if I did, something would happen to you. But I don't wanna be afraid of that anymore.
She smiles.
(A/N: Just so it's clear, Sabine looks the way she does in season three.)
Sabine: Took you long enough, Flyboy. I love you too, Y/N.
She puts her hand on my cheek.
I wrap my arms around her and pull her into a kiss.
As our kiss gets more heated I start kissing her neck.
She moans.
Sabine: Y/N, wait. We shouldn't do this out here.
Y/N: (Whispers) Just tell me to stop then.
Sabine: Come on, let's go to my quarters.
She grabs my hand and we make our way to her quarters.
When we get in there she locks the door.
We kiss and get each other out of our clothes/armor.
Once we're naked I pick her up and she wraps her legs around my waist.
I then take her over to the bed and we fall onto it.
Tonight is gonna be amazing.
