(Flashback)

Y/n POV

I was in the scrap yard in the South of Vale welding an old Atlas battleship that they used to use in some war. I was listening to my favorite music and band called, "Black Thunder by The Hu". I was wearing my scrapper outfit, my light blue long sleeve shirt, my glove on my left hand, leather cuff bracelet on my right wrist, one sleeve rolled up on my right arm, and my poncho with orange lines on it. I was concentrated on listening to the music, nodding my head lightly up and down from the music and working on the ship, until I felt my right shoulder being pat on. I turned around to see it was my friend, Jack Cole, he's a Faunus with ox horns on his head, he's a good friend. He signal me with his index finger pointing to his right ear to let me know to remove one of my wireless headphones to listen to what he needs.

Jack: Listen, I don't want to upset your rhythm, Y/n, but the boss wants a word.

I looked to see that the boss was waiting for me and Jack to come see what he needs. I patted Jack's left shoulder and put away my headphones and mask that I was wearing.

Jack: Could be good for us. Here he is, chief.

I walked up to the boss to listen what he has for us.

Foreman: Listen carefully you two, there's been an error on line Ten-A. The Hauler clamps are jammed. I need two workers to climb up and secure the cables.

He pointed behind us to go climb up a massive old Atlas ship to secure the clamps.

You: That's not an easy maneuver.

Foreman: The guild will double your pay for this shift.

Jack: Come on, Y/n. Little extra score, that couldn't hurt. Huh?

I looked at Jack to see that he was teasing me. I rolled my eyes at him, maybe I do need the extra money to get away from this place. I could just imagine me in a fancy house with a beautiful beach side where I can see the beautiful sunset. I looked at Jack to answer his question.

You: Okay.

Jack: Alright, let's go.

Foreman: Get to work.

(Music Playing)

Jack: This way.

You: I'm right behind you!

Me and Jack climbed up a debris of the ship to proceed to the jammed clamps. Jack jumped to the next platform, but half of it broke off, I can still make that jump.

Jack: Sorry Y/n!

You: Don't worry about it.

I jumped to the next platform where Jack was. He was waiting at the bottom of another debris for us to climb up.

Jack: Up here. After you, kid.

Jack let me climb up first. I saw the entire view of the scrap yard. I saw a few Atlas ships flying by us and seeing old ones on the ground.

Jack: Will you look at that- old Atlas ships. These things have been here for ages.

You: Yeah... ages.

Jack: Breaking these things will be big money. Alright, let's go.

I kept on admiring the view of the land that I was here. I've been on this planet for five years now, that's how long I have been here. I continued to follow Jack to the objective that we were supposed to do. I squeeze through some old crates that were together. I saw a few workers welding on objects that dropped down, but the objects hit the ladder that Jack made it up.

Female Scrapper: Look out!

Male Scrapper: Heads up!

Jack: The hell?!

The objects broke down the ladder from me to get to Jack.

You: Hey, you okay?!

Jack: Yeah, I'm good. Ladder's out though. You're gonna have to find another way.

You: No problem, I'll improvise.

Jack: See you there, pal.

I then looked to see a runway on the right side of me. I slide down safely for me to land right in front of a robot.

Robot: Debark this barge immediately. You are not approved trash.

You: I'm trash, just not approved trash.

I then continued to meet Jack at the other side of the ship were the clamps are at. I saw a few more workers getting their jobs done as well.

Male Scrapper: Easy there.

You: Just passin' through.

I then climbed up another debris to see another scrapper working on something.

Female Scrapper: Reckless, Y/n.

You: Good to see you!

Female Scrapper: You too! Don't get yourself killed.

You: That's the idea.

I went on another platform to keep my balance to get across. After that, I started to squeeze through the pipes that I was going through. I then heard scrap rats in here.

You: Sounds like scrap rats. Creepy... just passin' through, guys. No need to come out and say, hi, this time.

I exited the place where I got through. I then began to climb another debris of the ship. I then heard Jack above me while I was climbing and shimmying my way through the debris.

Jack: Hey Y/n! I'll meet you at the clamps.

You: Sounds good, be there soon.

I then went to continue to climb other debris inside the ship. I dropped to see another female scrapper working on the pipes.

Female Scrapper: How'd you get here?

You: How'd you get here?

Female Scrapper: Huh?!

( A few minutes later).

I finally made it to the clamps where Jack was waiting for me. I saw him on top of the clamps.

Jack: Y/n! Use the manual override lever below!

I then jumped onto the clamps, I shimmy to my left and pulled the lever.

You: Got it! Your turn.

Jack: Hold on.

I felt Jack pulling the lever on top of the first clamp pulling me up.

Jack: Alright, clamp's secured.

I then jumped to the next clamp, this one was good, but then I lost my grip on my right hand for a second and I grabbed the ledge again.

You: Woah!

Jack: You okay?

You: Still here.

Jack: Phew! Gave me a fright there, pal.

I jumped on to the final clamp and grab the ledge of it. I then pulled the override lever for Jack to do the other one up there.

You: Done!

Jack: Hang on, I got this.

I felt Jack pull the lever to lift me up the clamp to make it come back online.

Jack: We're done, get on up here.

I climbed up on the remaining debris of the ship and met up with Jack.

(Music End)

Jack: Come take a look at this. This a mark 20 ship! What a score! It's a real scrapper's payday. I mean this heap's been here, what, four years?

I went up next to Jack and look at the ship.

You: Five.

Jack: Whoever flew this went down in a blaze of glory. Those soldiers... a real tragedy. They always got to do the right thing.

You: Yeah, maybe.

I went to the ship and wipe off some of the dirt on the wing. I saw a symbol of the Jedi on the ship wing. I blinked my eyes knowing that I was hallucinating.

Jack: I guess it's just our lucky day. Atlas is gonna get good material out of it. Yep. Here we are scrapping these ships from the war just so they can turn around and make new ones. What a racket, huh? All of us risking our necks for the bosses. And the pay was better during the Faunus War.

You: Hey, you should really watch what you say.

Jack: Listen to me. A finder's fee like this, could be your ticket off this side of Vale.

You: What makes you think I want out of here?

Jack: (laughs) Come on, Y/n. You're a young guy. You don't wanna end up like me. Eventually, you gotta move on and live your life. Find your destiny.

You: Whatever you say. Hey, we should get back down.

Jack: Hey, you're not listening to me.

We then felt something shaking on the ship.

Jack: What was that?

We then saw that one of the cables that were connected to the ship snapped, making me and Jack falling down.

Jack: Y/n, look out!

We dropped on the big wing on the ship and we were sliding down. We avoided some objects that were on the wing. After a bit more sliding, my right leg was caught by a cable, making me hang upside down, while I see Jack trying to climb back up.

You: Jack! You okay?!

Jack: Y/n! I can't climb up!

Jack was slipping where he was holding on.

You: Jack! Just hang on!

Jack: I'm slipping!

You: No, don't let go!

Jack: I-I can't hold on!

Jack then lost his grip and he was falling.

You: Jack! No!

I don't have a choice here, I reached out my left hand to use Force Slow to slow down Jack's fall. He landed on a platform with an object that landed on him. I jumped down to make sure he was okay.

You: Jack, you alright?

Jack: Yeah, yeah.

I then lift the object with both of my hands for Jack to get his leg out and drop it.

Jack: Okay. Okay, we gotta...

You: We gotta move. Come on.

I helped Jack up and put his arm around my shoulder, even though he's 6'2 and I'm 5'7, but I can still get him out of here. We were walking back to where we began and Jack was asking me questions.

Jack: Hell happened? What was that back there? Was it... was that you? Was-Was that a semblance they were talking about, did you do that?

You: Just forget what you saw, okay? Please trust me.

Jack: No, but, I-I seen them. I've-I've seen the stories. I've heard it. There's...

I then put my hands on Jack's face to make him calm down and look at me.

You: Jack.

Jack: I heard that some kids-

You: I know! I know.

I put my finger on my lip to signal Jack not to tell anyone.

Jack: Yeah, alright. We need to be careful.

You: Yeah.

Jack: Yeah.

Me and Jack then walked back to where we started to get our payment for this intense job that we almost died from. I need a vacation.

(Timeskip)

We were on a train heading back to our homes for the day, I can't believe I almost saw Jack died in front of my eyes. I'm glad I saved him, if weren't for me, he would've died.

Jack: You holdin' up okay?

You: Good, yeah. You?

Jack: Yeah, heh. Y/n... I've been workin' with you some time now. I've never seen you do anything like that before. Heh, we've been through some hell together. So... I know the risk that you took for me. I just... I don't know how to repay you.

You: Don't mention it. I mean it.

Jack: O-oh, you don't have to worry about me. But, this place... it's not safe. Maybe you should, you know, disappear?

You: Just gotta head back to my place, grab my bag. Nathan owes me a favor.

Jack: I heard he was on uh... Vacuo?

You: Yeah. You won't be seein' me for a while Jack.

Jack: Yeah. Yeah, okay. Okay, Y/n.

I leaned back in my seat in the train and looked at my hands, knowing that I did something right for once.

Present

I looked at my hands that were bounded together while I saw a left hand being put on my right hand with a ring on the finger. I looked to see it was Ruby who put her hand on me. Ruby leaned her head on my right shoulder and I leaned my head on her head. I look to see that we were still on the transportation ship, I don't know where we're going. I looked around to see my friends and teammates are all bounded up from those people that we ran into. I saw Nora trying to bite one of them off, but she couldn't. I then looked at my fiancé again to see that she was worried that we might be sent to jail or something.

Ruby: Where do you think they're taking us?

Qrow: I'm gonna go with, jail.

You: Or we could be sent to work camps, or worse.

Jaune: I still can't believe that... fishing pole guy took us out like it was nothing.

Weiss: Welcome to Atlas. Those, were Ironwood's Ace Operatives.

You: Ace Operatives?

Man: You guys had a run in with the Ace Ops? Ironwood must have a bone to pick with you.

Weiss: They're not that big of a deal.

Man: Not that big of a deal?! The Ace Ops are the elite of the elite military Huntsmen, and Ironwood's personal attack dogs.

Nora: So they got you too, huh?

Man: Pfft! I wouldn't let myself get caught by them. I'm here because I've been speaking out against Atlas's exploitation of Mantle, and General Ironwood is trying to silence me!

Atlas Pilot: You threw a brick at our ship!

Man: It's worth it if it gets people talking about our cause!

Blake: Our cause?

Man: Yes! The fight for better conditions in Mantle! Lead by the charismatic, talented, lovely-

You: Robyn Hill.

Everyone looked at me in a surprise look on their faces.

Man: How did you know her name in the first place for a guy like you?

You: I just read the posters that were placed on the walls when we were in Mantle.

Man: Fair enough. As I was saying, Robyn Hill and her happy Huntresses.

The Atlas pilot then started to close the window behind them.

Man: They were all top Atlas Academy graduates who could've signed up for the military, but Robyn and the Huntresses chose to stay in Mantle. She's gunning for a seat on the kingdom's council, and when she gets it, she's gonna put an end to Ironwood's tyranny!

Oscar: Happy Huntresses?

Yang: Is that their real name?

Weiss: Don't you think "tyranny's" a little dramatic?

Man: Easy to say for a Schnee Heriess, living comfortably up in Atlas.

Weiss: (sigh) Not anymore.

We all then heard that we are heading into Atlas Academy. I looked out the window to see the amazing view up close.

Ruby: Woah. It's gorgeous up here.

Weiss: Don't let that fool you.

You: Come on, it's my first time being in Atlas.

Man: This isn't the police station.

Qrow: It's... Atlas Academy.

We all felt the ship landed at the landing platform in the Academy. The guards outside opened the ships doors for us and we exited the ship. I took a look around and saw the tower of Atlas, it's way bigger than Beacon tower.

Ruby: I guess we will be seeing the General. For better or worse.

Before I can catch up with the others, I looked back at the man in the ship.

You: Hey, I didn't get your name.

Man: Who cares if I tell you my name?

You: Because, I would like to help you out with your cause, in a peaceful way.

The man took a second to speak so that he can tell me his name.

Forest: The name's Forest.

You: It was nice meeting you Forest. I'm Y/n, by the way. And what you said about your cause, I'll be glad to help out, in a peaceful way, not just causing riots in the streets, or throwing bricks at cars or ships.

Forest: (chuckle) I'll try not to do those things again, but thanks for your support.

You: Anytime, I should go catch up with my team and friends, I'll see you around Forest.

Forest: You too, Y/n.

We managed to wave at each other goodbye and I went go catch up with my team and friends.

(A few seconds later)

Ren: (whispering) So, what do we do?

We were all inside an elevator that I'm guessing we're going to see General Ironwood.

Ruby: (whispering) I don't know yet, but we should be careful of what we say.

One of the Atlas guards looked at us from talking quietly, he then turned back around.

Blake: (whispering) We'll follow your lead, Ruby.

You: (whispering) Yeah, ain't no one taking my soon to be wife.

Ruby looked at me with a smile on her face, knowing that I always have her back. We all then heard the elevator stopped. The doors opened for the guards to escort us to Ironwood. Penny is here too?

Penny: (gasp) Yay, you're here!

Ironwood and Winter turned around to see all of us tied up with binders on our wrists.

Weiss: Winter.

Winter saw her sister after so many months of travel.

Nora: Anyone wanna give us a hand with these?

Nora showed Winter the bolas that we have on.

Merrin: Please take these off. I do not wish to be tied up with these ropes.

Winter: (to the Atlas guards) You have 10 seconds to take those off before I start hurting you.

The Atlas guards looked at each other for a second, then they hurried and take off the bolas that we have on. They finally took them off and I rubbed my wrists from the pain of those things. Ruby then fully hugged me from before she couldn't do, and I hugged her back.

Ironwood: Please, come in.

We all then entered the big office that Ironwood has, it looks different from Ozpin's office.

Ironwood: It is so good to see all of you. And for the ones that are new here.

Ironwood then looked at Merrin behind me.

You: Don't worry, she's with us.

Yang: Our reception didn't really, convey that.

Ironwood: (Sigh) I sincerely regret you were treated by my team. When a rouge airship entered our airspace, it raised some... red flags. We assume the ship was stolen.

Ironwood said while he sat behind his desk.

Ruby: Stolen?! Uh, heh. Okay yeah, it was stolen.

Winter: You stole an Atlas airship?

You: Winter, we didn't have a choice.

Winter: I'll get back to you in a second. (To Weiss) What were you thinking?! You might've been shot down! How unbelievably irresponsib--

Winter was cut off by Weiss hugging her.

Weiss: I'm sorry I worried you, but we did what we had to do.

Winter: I--

Winter sighs and she hugged Weiss back.

Winter: I suppose I understand. But I cannot believe that you allowed this to happen, Qrow!

You: Okay, let's not see you two fight like last time.

BD-1: Bweep!

Qrow: Kid's got a point. You try stopin' these kids when they have their minds set on something. Speaking of which, we have some important information that's... confidential.

Ironwood was about to speak, until Penny spoke first.

Penny: Oh, is it about the relics?

Winter: Or perhaps, the Winter Maiden?

We all were all were shocked that they already know about this.

Qrow: You told them?

Ironwood smirked at Qrow and he was getting something under his desk. Ironwood then pulled out the Relic of Knowledge and it began to grow in it's normal side while he was holding it.

Ironwood: Did you really think you the only one who got work on a new plan after Beacon? With Ozpin gone, I needed my own team of people I could trust. So yes, I told them. The Ace Ops too. Which is why I'm so glad you're here, with this. Until now, I believe it was impossible to... truly turn the tide against Salem. Oz has pushed her back, as kept victory out of her claws, but she will keep returning. Stronger and stronger. (Sighs) Unless we destroy her.

Ironwood then put the relic on the table for all of us to see it.

Ruby: But, what about the Atlas relic?

Ironwood: You mean the Staff of Creation.

Penny: It's safe inside the vault!

Qrow: And the Winter Maiden?

Winter: She is secured, and in stable condition.

Yang: Stable condition? What does that-

Qrow: She's uh, not exactly a spring chicken.

We all went silent for a second untill Ironwood broke the silence.

Ironwood: (sighs) I know how this all looks. Recalling my military, the embargo, I probably don't seem the most trustworthy right now.

Blake: Then why continue it?

Nora: The people of Mantle are hurting.

You: I agree with Nora, those people are in danger.

Ironwood: I needed to insure Salem couldn't infiltrate Atlas. And I wanted my military here, protecting my people.

Yang: But, it's not protecting them, it's making everyone hate you.

Ironwood: (sighs) It's a price I'm willing to pay.

Ironwood pressed a button on his holographic device that had shutters to close the windows.

Ironwood: Just as you all been entrusted with the knowledge of Salem's existence, I need you all to trust me. I have a plan.

Something below me, Ruby and Oscar raised on the floor, we quickly got off from it for Ironwood to speak again.

Ironwood: Ozpin believed the best way is to fight Salem is to do so in secret. Whether that was the right choice or not, isn't for me to say, but find ourselves in position of needing... well a new approach.

Qrow: And what do you suggest?

Ironwood then pressed a button to show a hologram of the Amity Coliseum.

Jaune: That's Amity Coliseum.

Oscar: Where the Vytal Festival was held?

Ironwood: Indeed. When Beacon fell, and everyone on Remnant lost contact with one another, I knew our current system was outdated. Amity was built to bring the nations together. And it will serve that purpose again.

Ironwood pressed a button again to show some kind of antenna on the coliseum.

Penny: Isn't it great? We're not just going to replace Beacon tower, building a new tower on top of Amity Coliseum, will reestablish global communications.

Winter: By launching the tower high into the atmosphere, our scientist believe we can create a sort of... satellite. Out of reach of the Grimm, and capable of maintaining global communications even if we were to lose another tower.

Ruby: That is great.

You: That's amazing.

Merrin: That is a great idea.

Qrow: James, you don't need the entire military for this.

Ironwood: I will for the next part. Where I finally tell the people about Salem.

You: What?

All of us went silent for a second, until Qrow broke the silence.

Qrow: Huh, so that's why you withdrew your troops. To handle a panic to go out on Atlas.

Ironwood: Yes. Panic is inevitable. And panic brings Grimm, but I believe we are ready. Once Atlas has come to group with the fight ahead, I'll use Amity tower to spread the message to all of Remnant.

Weiss: But everything will fall apart. Grimm will be everywhere!

Winter: You're right, but Atlas is willing and prepared to assist.

Ironwood: Trying to hide the truth in the world, will eventually kill us all.

Ironwood turned off the hologram and opened the windows from the shades.

Qrow: Oz spent his whole life, many lives, keeping this secret.

Ironwood: I know, but since Beacon, things have changed. Without him here to guide us, all I can do use my best judgement.

We all then went silent until Ironwood turned around to face us.

Ironwood: What is it?

Oscar: Actually. Oz isn't, completely gone.

Qrow: Uh, Oscar here is... is the next Ozpin.

Ironwood: Oz?

Ironwood then went up to Oscar that he was relieved that Ozpin is not dead. Ironwood knelt down in front of Oscar.

Ironwood: I am so glad you're here. I didn't think you-

Oscar: Not quite. He's kinda um... gone, at the moment.

Ironwood: That's not normal. How did he-

Ruby: We don't know.

Me, Ironwood and Qrow looked at Ruby.

Ruby: We were... in a train crash, and ever since well... suddenly Oz wasn't there anymore.

I knew that was a lie, but it had to be kept a secret for now.

You: Yeah, ever since the crash, we didn't hear from Ozpin anymore.

Ruby: Yeah.

Ironwood: (Sighs) It's the worst news yet.

Ironwood then stand up from his position.

Ironwood: Did you learn anything about the relics before...

Ruby: He told us the lamp can answer three questions, but... all the questions were used up already.

Ironwood: Right, right.

Ironwood then walked to the window to see the view at Atlas and Mantle.

Ironwood: Ozpin told us that too. Once upon a time. At least we have you Oscar you're safe here in Atlas. Maybe together we can figure out how to bring Ozpin back.

Oscar: Thank you sir. I mean uh, General... Ironwood?

Ironwood then grab the relic hovering on the desktop and bring it to Ruby.

Ruby: You're giving it back to me?

Ironwood: After what happened with the Ace Ops, I don't want you to think I'm keeping everything from you, especially something important as this. For the time being, I think it's safe with the people that brought it here.

Ruby then took the lamp from Ironwood.

Ruby: Um, thank you.

Ruby then put the relic in her belt for it shrink in a small size.

Ironwood: We must work together, if we're to fight Salem and win. Now, if you're all on board.

Ruby thinks for a second and looked at Ironwood.

Ruby: Tell us how we can help?

Ironwood: Good. Because getting the Amity tower to launch, won't be easy. But first, I think we need to get those weapons of yours, up to our standards.

A holographic screen showed up showing us Blake's broken weapon. She laughs nervously at Yang.

Winter: Remember, this is Atlas. While assisting the military, we will provide you with the best equipment our scientists can devise.

Everyone cheered in excitement for their new upgrades for their weapons.

Ironwood: Very well, you are dismissed.

Everyone then leave the office except for me and Merrin. I went up to Ironwood standing in front of his desk.

You: General Ironwood?

Ironwood: What is it Y/n?

You: I wanted to say, I'm sorry, for not following your orders on the Fall of Beacon. I took one of your battleships to stop the Grimm from the sky, I-

Ironwood: It's okay, Y/n. You were doing what was right, and you were brave enough to do your job.

You: Thank you, sir.

Winter then noticed Merrin standing next to me.

Winter: And who is this?

Merrin: My apologies, I am Nightsister Merrin. I am part of Y/n's team.

Winter: You're... a Nightsister?

You: It's a long story.

Penny: The Nightsisters are from a planet called Dathomir.

We all looked at Penny from her guessing where Merrin was from, how did she know that?

Penny: These people only serve themselves while they were training of using they're own magick, and crafting different materials.

I looked at Penny in a shock look that she was a genius of knowing the history of the Nightsisters.

You: Penny, how did you know that?

Penny: I just figured it out.

Penny gave me a smile on her face.

You: Okay, you are a very smart girl.

Penny: Indeed I am!

Merrin: Amazing.

Ironwood: Well, I think you should go catch up with your team, you best not keep them waiting.

You: Thank you, sir.

Merrin: It was a pleasure meeting you all.

Me and Merrin exited Ironwood's office to go catch with the others walking down the stairs. I then saw them talking to one of the Ace Ops that we ran into in Mantle.

Yang: Oh, there you are, where were you two?

You: We were just talking with Ironwood about stuff.

???: Hey, you're that same kid with this weapon that I have.

The leader of the Ace Ops showed my lightsaber on his belt.

You: Yes, I am. Can I please have my lightsaber back?

???: Oh, so that's what it's called. Yes, but I still didn't run any scans on this, this is very legendary to me. I'll give it back to you after I-

I cut him off with me using Force Pull with my right hand on my lightsaber that was on his belt and caught it with my hand. The members of the Ace Ops were surprised that they never saw me do this before.

You: Thank you, for your cooperation.

I then clipped my lightsaber hilt on to my belt and BD-1 laughed at what I just did to that guy.

???: Wow! I have never seen you do that before!

The lady on the left side saw what I did to their leader of getting my weapon back. Penny then stood in front of us.

Penny: Come on, let me show you around campus!

You: Lead the way, Penny.

Penny: Great! Follow me!

We all then followed Penny, while me and Ruby were holding our hands together.

Penny was telling and showing us around the Academy places are.

Penny: So that way is the cafeteria, and that way is the training rooms. Oh! And over there are the classrooms!

I was so amazed how this place is compared to Beacon Academy. I looked behind me to see that Ruby and the others were tired from this long walk, and this long way of traveling to get here.

Ruby: (yawning) This all looks great Penny, but where are we staying?

Penny: Remember, you're in Atlas now. As the most well funded school on Remnant, every team at Atlas Academy, has their own room. And if that wasn't enough-

Ren: So, we're staying in the dorms?

Penny went silent for a second, until she spoke again.

Penny: It'll be just like Beacon again!

I heard a loud thud coming from behind me. I looked to see that Nora was passed out on the floor after this long walk. Ruby then leaned on me from being tired.

You: Come on my fiancé, I'll carry you to the dorm.

Ruby: (tired voice) Thank you.

I then picked up Ruby bridal style to carry her to the dorms, Penny showed us the way to the dorms and walked there.

Penny: Wait, did you just call Ruby your fiancé?

You: Yes, I did. We're engaged.

Penny gasped in excitement from what I said.

Penny: You and Ruby are getting married?! I am so happy for you two!

You: Thanks, but I think you should keep it down, she's already asleep.

Penny: (whisper) Sorry.

Penny finally showed us to our dorms and I put Ruby on top of the bunk bed just like in Beacon. I got up on the bunk bed and kissed Ruby on the cheek. BD went to go sleep on the desk that was in here. I closed my eyes and sleep with my beautiful fiancé for the first time in my life.
