Y/n POV

I slowly open my eyes to see that we were still in the house. I fully opened my eyes and sat up carefully and stretched my arms. I see that the others are still sleeping, there was light coming from the window in front of me. I got up carefully and see that the storm stopped, we should be able to get moving. I looked to my left and see that Qrow was sleeping with a bottle in his hand, he's drunk as usual. I went to go wake him up, but I saw that the bottle was about to fall to the floor, I quickly caught the bottle from hitting the floor, that was close, it almost woke up anyone. I put down the bottle with the rest of the empty bottles. I shook Qrow to wake him up.

You: Qrow, come on, wake up.

Qrow: Leave me alone.

You: Qrow, come on, we almost overslept.

Qrow: Go away.

Qrow push my hand off of him to make me stop shaking him. I know exactly what to do to him. I slapped him with my right hand on his left cheek to fully wake him up, he groaned in pain a little and woke up.

Qrow: What?

You: Look out the window.

Qrow did what I said and looked to his left window and see that the sun is out.

Qrow: Oh, right, sunrise.

I patted his right shoulder to let him know that we're here for him.

You: You know, you can talk to Ruby about stuff, Yang too.

Qrow then patted my arm as well.

Qrow: I know, let's just get out of here.

Qrow got up to wake the others up from their sleep, while I went to go get BD-1. I tapped him on his head to wake him up and he did.

You: Hey buddy, you ready to head out?

BD-1: Beep.

You: Alright, hop on.

BD then hopped on my back and we head outside to wait for the others to get up.

(A few minutes later)

We were all outside while Weiss was putting some sort of attachment on Yang's bike.

Weiss: There.

Oscar: Can we just go back to bed?

Blake: If we're all so tired, maybe we should make breakfast.

Oscar: You want to make it?

Blake: Not really.

You: Hey, what's with the attitude, we're about to head to Argus in a few minutes.

Oscar: I don't know, I'm just tired.

Blake: Same here.

I looked at Oscar and Blake's eyes, there pupils are wide, why are they like that?

I saw that Ruby and Qrow were pushing a trailer car for Yang's bike to be attached to.

Ruby: You guys got the bike ready?

Yang: Hmm.

Qrow: Well it's done now, so let's hook this thing up and-

Qrow then put his foot on the edge of the trailer car, but then the tire popped on the left side. He groaned in frustration and check out the damage he did, of course he always bring bad luck.

Maria: You people are just beacons for bad luck, aren't you?

Qrow then went to go sit on the snowy ground and started to drink from his flask. I saw Yang sitting down by the well.

Yang: I'm starting to think the universe just doesn't want us getting to Atlas.

Ruby: (sigh) It's just a flat tire. I'm sure there's a spare.

I then walked up next to Ruby.

You: She's right, there has to be a spare.

Yang: It's not just that, it's everything. Storms, crashes, monsters. I'm so tired.

Blake: Me too. It feels like we're always having to fight to get by.

You: No, we're not finished yet. We came so far, and we're not giving up now.

Ruby: Y/n's right. But that's what we signed up for.

Oscar: We signed up to try and save the world not just... delay the inevitable.

You: Oscar, you need to pull yourself together and wake up, all of you.

Weiss: Last night, I... I couldn't stop thinking, why are we even going to Atlas?

I saw the same look in Weiss's eyes, the same thing that Yang, Blake, and Oscar had, why are they acting like this?

Ruby: Weiss, we have to.

Yang: Why?

Yang then got up from her spot where she was sitting.

Yang: Ozpin hid the relics behind giant doors, under enormous schools. But, how long would it take Salem to find a lamp in the middle of nowhere?

Ruby: But... the Grimm might-

Yang: They'd find it eventually sure. But bury it or just throw it down the well, it would take years. It might not even happen in our lifetime. But we could be done with it now.

Ruby grabbed the lamp from her belt and held it in her hand. Weiss and Blake then came here to watch Ruby drop the lamp. Ruby then walked to the well slowly.

Ruby: I am... really... tired...

Why do they keep saying that? I saw that Ruby extended her hand to drop the relic into the well. I went up to her and try to stop her.

You: Ruby, don't.

Ruby then looked at me with the same look that the others have in their eyes.

Ruby: Y/n, I have to.

You: No, you can't! If you drop the relic, then the Grimm might come after it, what if you drop it and destroy it?!

Ruby: It's the right thing to do.

You: Ruby, stop! This isn't you! This isn't all of you! Please, don't do this, please.

I had tears in my eyes knowing what I'm seeing to my friends do right now.

Ruby then closed her eyes and shook her head to snap out of it. She opened her eyes again and looked at me, their were normal. Ruby then realized what she was doing.

Ruby: Oh my gosh, what am I doing?

Ruby looked back at the relic, but then she saw something looking at her, Ruby screamed and dropped the relic.

You: No!

I quickly reached out my right hand to use Force Pull to stop the lamp from falling into the well. I had a small flashback to when I was young when I was reaching out for my original lightsaber. Then a blaster fire came at me almost hitting my hand, I went back to reality to only loose my footing on the well, reaching out for the lamp, but I fell down and screamed while I was falling.

Ruby: Y/n!

I heard Ruby shouting my name when I fell into the well. I hit the ground hard that I heard a splash of water down here, I got up slowly while I groaned in pain.

You: (in pain) Agh, that hurts.

I got up where I fell down, and started to look around where the relic went.

You: BD? Are you okay?

I didn't hear him respond, I turned to my back and saw the he wasn't there, he must've stayed with the others back up there. I started to go find the lamp that fell down here. It was dark down here, I took out my lightsaber and activate it to shine it in the dark to make me look for the lamp. I continued to move on and look for the lamp, but no sign of it.

You: Where is it?

I said to myself and worried that I couldn't find it.

You: Wait, it probably glows in the dark, maybe if I turn off my lightsaber, I can find it.

I said to myself again and deactivated my lightsaber and clipped to my belt. I focused on finding the glow of the lamp. I then saw a blue glow, that's gotta be the relic. I jogged to the relic and picked up.

You: Oh, thank goodness it's okay.

I said in relief, but then I heard low groaning. I looked up to see what that was. There were Grimm down here, but they were different.

They were shaped like skeletons, but they're black skin and bones almost look like they look like skeletons. One of them were about to grab me, but I screamed in fear and ran away from them with the relic.

Yang: Y/n?! Are you here?!

I heard the sound of Yang's voice and followed it to turn to my right. I saw Ruby and the others just standing there down the long pathway where I was signaling them to run.

You: RUN!!

I ran as fast as I can to get to my team, but then I heard a loud high-pitch shrieking coming from behind me. I covered my ears from the shrieking and my ears were ringing a little while I was running to my team, they had their weapons out and started to bend down, what's happening to them?

Yang: What is this?

Blake: My weapon.. feels.. heavy.

Maria: Run! Now!

We all saw Maria down the path she came in.

You: Come on, we gotta go!

We all then followed Maria back the way me and my team came from, but those things were blocking the way, they did another high-pitch shrieking and I covered my ears from the ringing in my ears while I groaned in pain.

Ruby: This way!

We then followed Ruby to go a different route to get away from these things. No matter where we go there were everywhere. We then stopped into a wine cellar, but there were more of those things in front of us. They did another high-pitch shrieking and I covered my ears again from the ringing, and I saw my teammates fell in the ground.

Yang: I can't... do this. I can't.

You: Come on, get up!

I went help Yang on her feet, but she fell again.

Maria: An exit. An exit.

I then saw a way out of here, but I can't leave my team behind.

You: Blake, get up!

Blake: It's fine.

You: No!

Ruby then reached out her hand trying to save Blake.

Ruby: Blake!

I then saw the light coming out of Ruby's eyes again. She used her silver eyes on those things and screamed in pain. I went to get Weiss up and Yang.

You: Open the doors, and get us out of here!

Weiss: Right!

Weiss went to go open the doors, but they were locked.

Weiss: They're locked!

Yang: Out of my way!

Yang went to go get the doors open while Ruby helped Blake to get to the exit, but those things did another high-pitch shrieking and I covered my ears again from the ringing while I fell on the floor groaning loud in pain.

Yang: No. No.

I just lie down in the floor still covering my ears with tears in my eyes knowing that this going to be the end of us. We're all going to die down here. I looked at Ruby and my friends one last time before we all die down here with these things. This is it, this where our journey ends. But then I saw Ruby sitting up where she was laying in the ground and used her silver eyes again on those things, the light was so bright that I covered my eyes from the light. I heard those things screaming in agony and died. I removed my hands from my eyes to see that those things were gone, they died. I then saw BD-1 coming to me.

BD-1: Beep-boop?

You: Yeah, I'm fine, come on.

BD got on my back and I stand up, while I heard Yang's gunshot opening the door of the wine cellar. We went through the door and we were back inside the same house.

Blake: We're back in the house?

I turned around to see more of them coming.

You: There's more of them coming!

Ruby then saw Qrow drunk again.

Ruby: Uncle Qrow, get up!

Qrow: Hey get off me. What are you doing here?

Maria: We're leaving you idiot, come on.

Weiss: Not yet.

Maria, Blake and Yang went outside of the house, while Weiss grab some of the alcohol bottles and throw them at those things.

You: I'll help you out!

Weiss: Thanks!

Me and Weiss grabbed more if the bottles of alcohol and threw them at the entrance of the wine cellar.

Qrow: Hey, hey what are you doing?!

I went to go slap Qrow in the face to snap him out of it.

Qrow: Ow! What-

You: Snap out of it Qrow! We are leaving! Weiss go, I got this, I'll catch up!

Weiss: Better hurry!

Ruby and Weiss went to go drag Qrow out of here while I grabbed one of the candles and said something to those things before I throw it.

You: BURN IN HELL!!

I threw the candle at the those things and they were lit from the fire. I quickly rushed out of the house and jumped in the back of the trailer car that was fixed.

You: Go! Floor it!

Yang then drove us out if here to get outta doge, far away from this place and never come back here ever again.

(A few minutes later)

I was relaxing from the intense escape that we just had with those things. I don't know what they are?

Maria: The Apathy. They're not strong, or ferocious. They drain your will to go on. Bartleby's estate hemorrhaging money towards the end. He wanted to cut costs on Huntsman protection. But, in order to do that, he needed everyone calm. Always.

Oscar was reading some of the diary that the man was riding in the book out loud.

Oscar: " Managed to get two away from the pack, hike back was miserable, but got the bastards in the cellar. Wife thinks I was out sealing the waterway entrance. I'll do it tomorrow, and tell her the truth once these things take the edge off of everyone. I'm tired".

Maria: The next page proves that he did, but not before the rest of the pack followed their missing pair all the way home. My guess is they made their way beneath the estate of the water tunnels, that Bartleby sealed up the next morning. Bartleby's plan worked.

Maria then took the book from Oscar and continued to speak.

Maria: No one was angry, or sad, or scared. No one was anything. And then, no one was left.

Maria closed the book and threw it away into the snow where no one can find it.

BD-1: Whoop-whoooo.

Weiss: I'm sorry for what I said, about giving up.

We then felt Yang stopped the bike.

Yang: Me too. We can't quit until the lamp is safe.

Blake: It's not your fault. It was those things.

Maria: I should have known. The signs were all there, but I'd never seen an entire settlement withered away like that. I suppose my mind just isn't what it used to be.

Blake: Y/n, you weren't effected by those things. How come you were not getting weak like us?

You: I don't know. I think it's because those things can drain your arua, I think that's why. But, when ever they screamed, my ears were hurting from the high-pitch shrieking that they did. It was like nails on a chalkboard.

Weiss: So, you were not effected by them.

You: Or maybe I was special, or immune to them.

Yang: I hope so.

You: If it weren't for Ruby, we would have died.

Ruby: Thanks, but... Miss Calavera?

Maria looked at Ruby.

Ruby: How do you know so much about the Grimm? And in the tunnels you knew exactly what to say to make me.. to make my eyes do that. How?

Maria: Well, isn't it obvious girl? I had silver eyes.

My eyes widened in shock from what Maria said.

You: What?
