Y/n POV

It's been a few months since we left patch and headed to Mistral, all we need to do is continued to go to Haven Academy, we still have a long way to go, but I know we can make it. Ruby and the others are wearing different outfits. I was still wearing my original outfit same glove on my left hand, my sleeve up, a brown leather cuff bracelet on my right wrist, and my poncho. But when we get to Haven, I'll buy new clothes for me, I even grew some facial hair after a few months of traveling. Me and the others were going on a hunting mission. We stopped at a nearby village for today, but we kept hearing the villagers say that there was some kind of Grimm lurking around in the area. So me and the others went to go track this thing down.

We were on a edge of a cliff, there was another way to get to the other side, looks like we're going to have to jump across there.

Ruby: Think we could make that?

Jaune: Only one way to find out.

Ruby went first and jumped far enough to make it to the other side of the cliff. Ren and Nora went next, and Jaune jumped far too. Now all it's left is me.

Ruby: Can you make that jump?!

You: I don't know?! I can't jump like you guys!

Ruby: Come on, you do it! Me and Jaune will catch if you fall, okay?!

I guess I don't have any other choice. I stepped back a bit for me to run and jump to get enough speed, and run to get to the other side of the cliff.

You: Well, here goes nothing!

I ran to the edge and jumped off the cliff, there's no way I could make it. Everything went in slow motion for me. Jaune and Ruby were ready to catch me. I reached out my right hand to try to grab them, but then I started to have another flashback.

(Flashback)

Young Y/n POV

I fell on to the platform and hit it with my hand in frustration.

Jaro Tapal: Get up. Try again.

Young You: *sigh* I just keep failing, Master!

Jaro Tapal: Do you? Good. Keep failing keep getting back up. That is the only way to succeed. Do not allow yourself to be weighed down by ego and pretense. Let go of what you fear to lose and rise up. Now... again.

The platforms raised up for me to get to Master Tapal. I jumped to do a Jedi Flip to get to the platform in front of me.

Jaro Tapal: Good! Now reach my position. You can do it!

I focused on jumping to the last platform. I jumped and did a Jedi Flip to reach the final platform and it boost me into the air to get to Master Tapal.

(End of Flashback)

Y/n POV

I was still trying to reach Jaune and Ruby, but then I did a Jedi Flip to boost myself up and landed in front of the others, they backed up in surprised to see my new trick.

Jaune: Whoa! That was amazing what you just did now!

Nora: You just did a flip!

You: We just gotta keep getting back up guys.

Ren: What are you saying?

You: As long as we get back up, we're still in this fight.

Ruby: Wait. Are you saying you...

BD-1: Beep-beep!

Ruby said with a smile on her face, while I looked at my hands.

You: I'm finally back to where I was before the purge. Before Master Tapal died.

Ruby: You're back to yourself before you were little?

You: Yeah, I am. I'm finally back to myself.

I said with a smile on my face, and Ruby hugged me and I hugged her back. I'm finally back to where I was before the purge started. I'm glad I had this flashbacks that I taught with Master Tapal. We let go of each other and proceed to go find that Grimm.

(Timeskip)

Me and my team spread out to see if we can get this thing by surprise. I was sitting on a tree branch to wait for this to come out. I waited patiently and then I began to feel the ground shake. It's coming, it was coming from the top of the cliff. I saw Ruby fighting it off with her weapon. She was bringing the Grimm to us, but the starting falling and hitting the tree branches.

Ruby: BAD- LANDING- STRATEGY!

Ruby said while hitting the branches. I saw good look on that grimm she was fighting, look at the size of that thing.

Jaune: Y/n! Come on!

I got down and got out my damaged lightsaber, activate it and charged in there to help Ruby. I sliced some of the rocks off the Grimm, but it regenerated the rocks back to it. I rolled out of the way to get some distance while the others were doing their work on it, except for Jaune, he didn't have his weapon on him now, he dropped it off at the blacksmith shop back at the village to get on upgrade on it. After a few more hits on this thing and getting a tree as an arm, we all group up to figure out a way to take this thing down.

Jaune: Okay, how do we do this?

Ren: His body is too thick to break through.

Jaune: It doesn't care about it's body.

Nora: Plus, it can keep adding new limbs!

Jaune: But it's protecting it's face.

Ruby: We can't break it!

You: Even my saber doesn't do the trick!

Jaune: Egh... If we knocked all if it's limbs off then we went for the...!

Jaune figured something out and looked at us.

Jaune: Guys! I got it! We hit it... harder!

Ren: Is that it?

Jaune: No, seriously! It's trying to keep us from its face! If we kill the limbs, we'll have a shot to kill the whole thing!

You: That's a great idea Jaune!

Ruby: Alright... Come on, team! Let's do this!

Nora: Yeah!

You and Ren: Right!

Jaune: Ren, left. Ruby, right! Y/n, try to slow it down with that ability of yours.

You: Got it!

Jaune: Nora... Ready to try out the new upgrade?

Nora nodded her head, and I went to go slow down that thing. I waited for the time is right.

Jaune: Uh... Hey! Over here!

Jaune said while distracting that thing. Now's my chance, I used Force Slow to slow that thing down. I saw Ruby used her semblance to pick up Nora and went into the air, Nora came back down and smashed the entire rock limbs on the Grimm's body. I saw the rock that had the thing in it, it got out of the rock and started to fly into the forest.

You: Ruby? You know what to do.

Ruby nodded at me and shot her weapon at the Grimm. I saw faded away into a black mist.

You: Well, that settles it.

BD-1 got off my back and landed in front of us, while he was beeping a victory music, jumping and spinning around. We all laughed at his cuteness, and he returned on my back.

Jaune: Another victory for team JNRR!

Jaune said while he was doing a victory pose.

Jaune: Alright, y'know, okay... Ren, i think you were on to something... It... It... It's just not sounding great anymore.

(Timeskip)

Location: Village

We head back to the village were the mayor was expecting us.

Mayor: We truly can't thank you enough.

The Mayor said while shaking Ruby's hand.

Ruby: Just doing our job, sir!

Mayor: That Geist has been plaguing our village for weeks. We were begining to wonder if we'd have to relocate.

Ruby: Well, we are on our way to Mistral... You could always come along with us if you don't feel safe!

Mayor: Heh... I take it you're not from these parts... Anima is a large continent... I'm afraid our people would not survive that long trek to Mistral. It may be safe in the Kingdoms, but we prefer our way of life. I just wish we could pay you more.

You: You don't have to. We're fine with that.

Ren: Our previous arrangement is more than sufficient.

We all bow our heads as goodbye and left. Before we head out, we had stop by the Blacksmith to see if Jaune's weapon is ready, and I do hope he also has the upgrade for my lightsaber. The Blacksmith set down a new armor for Jaune on the table.

Blacksmith: There you go, son! It's gonna be heavier than you're used to, but you'll thank me the next time you go up against a set of claws!

Jaune: Wow... Uh... I don't know what say.

Blacksmith: Don't gotta say anything! Just put it on! I'll go get the rest.

The Blacksmith went to the back to get the rest of Jaune's gear.

Nora: So... What are you waiting for?

Jaune: Oh! Uh... Right!

Jaune then took off his old armor and put it on the table next to the new armor.

Jaune: Guess I was gonna grow out of it eventually...

Ren: A sign if progress.

Jaune: Progress.

Jaune then turned around to face us, but be showed us his hoodie that he was wearing, I always wanted to see what was under that armor if his. It turns out that it had a picture of a rabbit on his hood, really Jaune? Ruby then started to laugh while I just looked at him with a confused look.

Jaune: Whuh... What is it?

Ruby: What is THAT?!

Ruby pointed a Jaune's hoodie.

Jaune: What my hoodie? I've always had this!

Ruby continued snickering about to laugh.

Ruby: IT'S GOT A CUTE LITTLE BUNNY ON IT!

And there she goes, started laughing.

Jaune: It's Pumpkin Pete! Y'know from the cereal?

Ruby: What did you do?! Send in a box top for a prize?!

Jaune: Yeah! Fifty!

You: Really Jaune?

Ruby continued to laugh out loud while I just stood there and laughed a little too, then she fell on the floor when she laughed too much.

Ren: Well... I suppose we don't have to grow out of everything.

You: You said it Ren.

Ruby continued to laugh on the floor a little bit, when the Blacksmith came back with Jaune's weapon then Ruby got up from the floor.

Blacksmith: Can't have a huntsman without his weapon!

He said while putting Jaune's sword in the table.

Blacksmith: Made all the modifications you asked for.

Then used the shield part to show his sword in it.

Blacksmith: That was some find metal you brought me. Accents the white nicely. Where'd you get it from?

I walked up to him with my hand his shoulder and the others walked up too, looking at Pyrrha's headwear on the shield.

Jaune: From a friend.

You: Oh yeah! Do you have the part that I need?

Blacksmith: Oh! Yes of course! Just give me a second.

He said while he was crouching down behind the table to get the part I need for my lightsaber, he got up and placed it on the table in front of us.

Blacksmith: This is a rare part that I had for a long time. You're lucky that I kept this one for you and that weapon of yours.

You: Thanks, I really appreciate it.

Blacksmith: Anytime. There's a workbench to your right, feel free to use it to upgrade that weapon of yours.

I took the part to upgrade my lightsaber. I walked to the bench and put the part on it, and my lightsaber hilt on the workbench. I look back at my friends for a second.

Ruby: Well... what are you waiting for? Let's see how you work on that thing!

You: Right.

I turned back to the workbench and got out my blow torch and get to work on my hilt. I used the blow torch on the hilt to show a bit sparks coming from the metal. I combined the part with the hilt and used the blow torch to put it together. I used the blow torch again to make sure that it stays connected. It's done, I finally repaired my Master's lightsaber, it was no longer damaged, it was fixed, this brought a smile on my face. I picked up the hilt and showed it to my team.

RNJR: Wooooow!

I looked at Jaune and saw that he already had his stuff together.

Blacksmith: Well I'll be! You really know how to upgrade that thing!

Ruby: We'll be outside waiting for you two.

Ruby said while they went outside for me and Jaune to pay for our weapons.

We then went outside to the others. Jaune then draw his sword out, and equipped his shield, then the Blacksmith came out to see our new weapons.

Blacksmith: Now, let's see that new upgraded weapon of yours son!

Jaune went back to the team and I got to an open area for them to see my new upgraded lightsaber. I activated the first blade on the left, then the second blue blade on the right. I twirled it with both of my hands to test out the swings on both of the sabers.

RNJR: WHOAAAAAA!

They saw me in awe while I deactivated my two blades and clipped the hilt to my belt.

Blacksmith: They clean up alright, don't ya think?

I went to my team.

Ren: They certainly do.

Nora: I still think a grenade launcher would've REALLY brought the look together.

Ruby: Nothing's gonna stop team RNJR now!

Nora: Team JNRR!

Ren: Still not a color.

You: I hope me and BD are apart of this.

BD-1: Beep.

Jaune: It doesn't matter what we're called.

He said while putting his sword and shield back.

Jaune: As long as we're together.

Blacksmith: You kids sure you won't stick around? You've been real good to this town.

Ruby: Sorry, we've got another mission.

Nora: Make it to Haven Academy, no matter what!

Ren: We've heard the next village has a working airship.

You: I could really use that right now, instead of walking.

Blacksmith: Mmm... No way to know for sure... Scroll signals were bad enough out here when Beacon Tower was still up. Haven't heard from Shion village in a while.

Ruby: Well... There's only one way to find out!

We started to head off into the forest to continue on with our travel to Mistral. Meanwhile, Jaune was going over the list of stuff that we have for the road.

Jaune: Food!

Nora: Check!

Jaune: Water?

Nora: Check!

Jaune: How 'bout ammo?

Nora: Locked and loaded! Thank you, Schnee Dust Company!

Jaune: Got the map?

Nora: Uh... Ren's got it!

Ren: No I don't! You have it.

Nora: Wait... What?

Jaune: Guys, please tell me you're joking.

Nora nervously laughed.

Jaune: Guys! Guys? Guys...

Nora: Nope.

You: Don't worry Jaune, BD's got the map.

Jaune: How can that little robot thing you have has the map?

You: BD?

BD-1: Bwoop-beep.

BD then got off my back and showed a holographic map to everyone.

Jaune: Okay, that is a smart robot that you have Y/n.

You: He came prepared.

BD then turned off the the holomap and went back on me. I noticed Ruby was looking a bit down now that Nora mentioned Weiss. I went to go cheer her up. I put my hand on her shoulder, she noticed me.

You: Hey, we'll see them again, I promise.

Ruby smiled at me, she held my hand and interlock our fingers together and kept on walking. I know we'll see Yang, Blake, and Weiss again I know it. If only Pyrrha could see us now, and I know she's watching us from up there, in the skies. Right now, we have a job to do, and we will make it to Mistral and we won't stop until we get there.
