Imagine; your master dies in front of you, and since Anakin just became a master Jedi, you get assigned to him.

'Anakin, now that you became a Jedi master, you are assigned an apprentice...' Obi Wan explains as he climbs into one of the spaceships.

Anakin follows him with a frown, he sits down as Obi Wan fires it up.

'Where are we going?' He asks confused.

'To pick her up...'

'Aren't they supposed to be children?' Anakin asks.

'Yes, but there's an apprentice that needs a new master, she's about 3 years younger than you... she reached out after her master was killed by the Sith. She's hiding now...'

'What's her name?, who was her master?'

'Her name is Y/n.. she was an apprentice of A Jedi master named Hogan Manduri...' (I made up the name)

'Y/n, now that's a name I haven't heard in a while...' he mutters to himself.

'Ani!' She runs up to him and jumps in his open arms.

'Y/n!' He laughs as he twirls her around.

'How have you been?, the last time I saw you...you were leaving to become a Jedi...'

'I've been good, what about you?, the last time I saw you, you were still on Tatooine...what are you doing here?' He asks surprised.

'I'm learning to become a Jedi just like you..'  she replies with the biggest smile he has ever seen on her.

'Y/n!, where are you?' Her master asks.

'So maybe I'll see you around then...if not I'll just look for you...'

'Please do...I really missed you...' she smiles at him before rushing down the hallway.

It brings a smile to his face when he reminds himself about you. You were always his favourite, you still are, and to have you as a student, well it would be amazing if it wasn't under these horrible circumstances.

'We're here...'

Anakin hasn't even registered the whole way there, he didn't even notice he was lost in his thoughts.

He looks to the scene in front of him and his heart sinks, it's a miracle if you're even alive given that everything is either burning or covered in rubble.

Once Obi Wan has landed, Anakin sprints out and hastily looks around. Trying to find any sign of you.

'Y/n!' He yells.

'Y/n!' You hear a distant voice.

You got tired of trying to lift the big piece of rubble off of you hours ago, the thing pressing on your body, the thing to blame for the lack of air you're getting.

'I'm....I'm here...' you weakly respond.

'I can hear her!, it's faint but she's somewhere underneath this!' The distant voice gets closer and before you know it, moonlight shines right in your eyes.

'She's here!' The voice is so familiar, you recognise it but you can't quite place it, you're too tired and too hazy to even try.

The rubble starts to move and you feel a wave of pain hit you again once the large piece of rubble gets pulled off of you. You whimper as you try to move again.

'I'm going to pick you up right now y/n...we will get you out of here...' you feel two arms lifting you up bridal style.

Your eyes are glossed over and you can't make out the difference between a person and a fire right now, but you do finally recognise the voice.

'Ani?' You breathe.

'Just rest... it's going to be okay...'

'How are you feeling y/n?' Master Windu asks.

'I'm feeling better already, I'm ready to return to the Jedi...' you reply, hands neatly fold over one another in front of you.

Your recovery was hard to say the least, the physical damage was far less than the emotional damage, the only visible injuries you have are reduced to bruises and some cuts here and there. The emotional damage is far more than everyone realises, and that is your fault entirely, you may not let people on, on how you're feeling.

'Physically recovered, you have...' Master Yoda speaks up and you turn to him.

'Yes, I have Master Yoda..'

'We are ready to place you under another Master Jedi... until you're ready to take the test...' Windu continues.

'Apprentice of Anakin, you will become...' Yoda says.

You glance at Anakin and see a small smile on his lips, this would be amazing if it wasn't under these horrible circumstances.

'Thank you Master Yoda and the Jedi council...' you slightly bow and you get a nod from all of them.

'Well let's go..' Anakin says and you nod walking after him.

'This is going to be wonderful...'

'Yes...' you reply.

And from that point you follow him around and do exactly as he says, something he want expecting of you since you used to always talk back at him when you were younger. You would defy every single thing he said and the other way around.

And he was also expecting you to talk a lot, you used to talk his ears off as kids, but now you're quiet and reserved, you only talk when spoken to and of someone brings anything up about your previous master, you subtly avoid the whole subject.

It honestly annoys him a bit, you used to be so happy and more alive than this state you're in now.

Most of the time you're stuck in your own head. Little snippets of that day fly around, occasionally coming up and scaring you yet again.

He doesn't know what to do about it or how to even begin some sort of conversation with you, a real one where he gets you to open up.

'You just need to give her space...'

'You need to give her time...'

'She will come to you...'

He knows he should let it go, but he can't, he wants to help you, he wants to be there but he simply doesn't know how because you won't let him past this wall you've build.

Even on this mission where he's supposed to catch some sleep while Obi Wan keeps guard, all he can do is stare at the high ceiling above him, it wouldn't be a surprise if at actually had two holes because of the intense staring.

He decided to get up and just check on you, his gut tells him something is about to happen. So he gets up and slides out of bed, putting on a robe before padding down the hallway.

'You get to watch...' you get held by your arms, forced to your knees. Forced to watch.

'Did you really think we wouldn't be able to stop you?, I never thought I'd see the day that a Jedi becomes cocky but here we are...'

'No! Master Manduri!' You yell squirming in their grip, trying to reach your lightsaber.

'It's alright young Padawan...' your master looks at you, his expression isn't scared, it's calm.

'Show her what happens to Jedi's who defy the Sith...' an evil laugh follows the statement.

You watch, you can only watch as a member of the Sith raises his lightsaber. Master Manduri closes his eyes and your tears fall to the ground.

Your chin roughly turns to the master when you try to look away. The lightsaber goes down and you let out a chilling scream as your master falls to the ground.

Your anger fuels the force inside of you, your lightsaber flies into your hand and you slaughter both men holding you before going after the last.

And then the last piece of the horrifying puzzle, the bomb they planted as security goes off, sending you through the air before you get ripped by the ceiling.

'Y/n wake up!' Anakin shakes you and you gasp, you feel like you can't breathe.

'Shh, shh, you're okay...' Anakin slides his hand up your cheek to make you look at him.

Your eyes are puffy and red, tears roll down your cheek and his heart breaks. He wishes he could take it all away for you.

'Y/n, focus on me, do you know where you are?' He asks trying to bring you back to reality.

'I...we're on.. Aquilae...' you answer and he nods.

'Good...can you tell me what the nightmare was about?' He asks and you want to tell him, you really do but you can't even get the words out.

'Y/n..I need to know... I want to help you... I've had nightmares too for a while...'

'How...How did they...did they go away?' You stutter.

'You won't like the answer, but by telling someone they become less of a fear, so there's no fear for your nightmare to feed on...'

'I'm stuck..Ani I'm stuck...I can't get out... every time I close my eyes I see him...'

He moves his hands to take yours in them. He isn't supposed to even get this close but he doesn't care.

'Tell me... tell me what you see..' he softly says. You take a deep breath and close your eyes.

'I see... My master... he's on his knees with one of the Sith standing behind him, he has his lightsaber out...' a shiver runs down your spine. 'He tells the other two men to hold me down...make me watch, I try to look away..' your voice becomes shaky. 'But one grabs my chin and turns... I couldn't even... I couldn't even get out... I couldn't even move to save him...'

'It's not your fault... you have to remember that... it's not your fault...'

'I killed them Ani... after they were done I killed them...' you confess as you open your eyes. 'I'm a bad apprentice, I... two weren't even armed and I killed them.. that's against everything the Jedi stand for...'

'Nobody has to know... this stays between us...'

'I could never ask that of you, you know that...'

'You don't have to ask, I want you to have someone to talk to and I want that to be me... I want to be your person...'

There's more meaning behind that than either of you realise. It isn't until you feel his hand go up to your cheek again that you realise what he truly meant.

'I want you ... the woman I've been fawning over since we were children... I want the laughter and the happiness, the life you hold...'

'Why did you come here?, in my room?'

'Because I had a feeling... that's how truly connected we are...'

You close your eyes and lean in, Anakin does the same and you meet in the middle. Your lips collide before you even register it. You put your forehead against his, disconnecting your lips from his.

'You will get through this... I promise...'

'Thank you... for everything... ' you smile.
