You have been Padme's most trusted friend and bodyguard for a while now. Ever since she became queen, you've been there to protect her, and now that she no longer is one, you're still by her side.

'Y/n, what do you think about this matter?' Padme asks breaking your out of your trance.

'I'm sorry Padme but you know that as a Jedi I am not supposed to mix with politics...'

'I'm simply asking you as a friend, not as a political leader...' She chuckles.

'I don't think that's....' you freeze when you see Obi Wan standing there with his Padawan, someone you're awfully familiar with.

'We've been send by the high council, to serve as bodyguards for your safety...'

'That's odd...considering y/n is my guard...' she frowns.

'Allow me to explain...in private...' Obi Wan suggests and she nods.

How convenient, she leaves you with your childhood friend. Someone you haven't seen in years, someone you have a raging crush on. Someone you're supposed to keep away from.

'So...Padme's bodyguard huh?'

'Yes...I figured that it would be the best choice, Padmé and I have been friends for a while and as a Jedi...well I didn't want to be cooped up all day... Padmé needed someone to look after her...so here we are... what about you?, a Padawan...I thought you wanted to be a pilot?' You tilt your head.

'Well..at first yes...but then I changed my mind, seeing you...it would mean being close to you...because you're the only one I truly know...' he explains and you chuckle.

'So how are you doing as a learner?'

'Well Obi Wan doesn't hate me yet...I think..' He replies making you let out a chuckle.

'If he doesn't...he clearly doesn't know you that well yet..' you tease and he playfully shoves you.

It wasn't fine, you lied and made him very awkward. You told him he misread the situation, but in reality he didn't.

He tried to kiss you, got pretty close to it too if you hadn't turned your head away with a very awkward clearing of the throat. You told him you weren't interested in him, not in that way, which was a complete lie.

'Just know that if it made you uncomfortable, I am sorry and it won't happen again.' You kind of wish it would though.

You've grown, you weren't ready then, but you are now. Of course the Jedi council had to decide that Jedi are celibate. Meaning that they can't be in relationships. Not that you cared much for the rules. You just wished you hadn't pushed him away.

'Y/n?, are you okay?' He asks waving a hand in front of your face.

'Y/n, you seem distracted..' Padme drops her work to look at you.

'I'm sorry, I shouldn't be distracted...'

'Tell me...as a friend...' she sits next to you just a Zulu let out a sigh.

'Its Anakin, isn't it?'

You nod, fiddling with your fingers. Padme lays her hand over the fiddling fingers and chuckles.

'You should tell him...'

'He could've moved on... he could've stopped liking me in that way...I don't know if I should rip open the wound again..what if he doesn't want to be like that anymore...this was such a long time ago...'

'He has a right to know the truth y/n..'

'Were both Jedi...Well one Jedi and another in training but still... we're not supposed to-'

'Oh screw that!' She exclaims and you're taken back from her statement a little bit.

'You two are literally the sweetest people alive, you belong together... and I will help you...I will get Obi Wan to keep me company while you two can have a moment alone...' Padme suggests.

'What did I ever do to deserve such a good friend...'

'You protect me...without you I won't last a day....we should get started on planning...shall we?' She offers you her hand and you take it with a smile.

'The city is beautiful isn't it?' Anakin comments and you smile at him.

'It is... I will never get tired of this view...' you sigh.

'Padme mentioned something about you needing to tell me the truth?, do you have any idea what she's referring to?'

Your breath gets caught in your throat. Your heartbeat speeds up as you turn to face him. You swallow down the lump in your throat.

'I uh... I said the other day that it was fine... but I lied..again...just like I did right after you tried to kiss me..'

'What do you mean?' He turns sideways, leaning against the balcony rail.

'I do uhm...I do like you.. like that... but I was afraid...I don't know what I was afraid of but I was and.. I still feel that way... and now you probably moved on already...' you lay it all on him at once. Everyone else probably wouldn't understand a word you just said but Anakin hears every word loud and clear.

'I'm sorry...' you start to panic. 'I'm sorry I'll just... forget everything I-'

Before you can finish the sentence, his lips are on yours. He pulls you against him, one arm wrapped around your waist while his hand cups your cheek.

'Said...' you breathe after he leans back slightly.

'I've always loved you...and I don't think I can ever stop..'

'This is forbidden...' you chuckle.

'Like you'd ever play by the rules...' he comments and you let out a laugh.

You both turn to the city, watching the ships fly by, watching the bright lights. His arm is wrapped around you and your head is on his shoulder.

'I love you...'

'I love you too...' you smile back at him.
