• you wake up to a strange, insistent scratching at the door

• groaning, you roll over and bury your face into Embo's warm chest, unwilling to wake up and find out what the hell is at the door just yet

• Embo and you have known each other for a reasonable amount time, and you've hunted together for a while now, but it was only last night where Cad Bane had fucked around and made you both jealous enough that you had admitted your feelings to each other

• you aren't really that worried about the scratching at the door, Embo is anything but unreasonable; you doubt he'd have some strange, useless Kowakian hanging around

• chuckling, Embo wraps his arms around you

• 'It's just my Anooba, Marrok. He's been injured recently, so I'm haven't been taking him on hunts.'

• his voice is soft, the Kyuzo lilting off his tongue as he tenderly cards his fingers through your hair

• you close your eyes, snuggling into Embo's side and sighing contentedly

• Embo presses a button on the panel set in the wall by the bed, and a grey Anooba trots in, one ear cocked in a jaunty way, yellow eyes glinting and teeth sharp, yet with all of that comes a certain air of adorable puppy-ishness

• sitting up, you hold your hand out toward the animal and let him sniff at your fingers, giggling when a pink tongue appears and starts lapping at your palm

• you notice a bandage neatly wrapped around one of his forepaws, and you smile, recognising Embo's work - you yourself have sported that precise skillsmanship, much different from your own, more messy way of fixing your hunting partner up

• jumping up onto the bed, you laugh as Embo starts trying to shove the unmovable Anooba back off the bed from where he's planted himself firmly onto your legs

• sighing, Embo hops out of bed and lifts Marrok off you, now towering over you as he holds the ball of grey fur in his arms

• 'There,' he says. 'Now I can see your beautiful face.'
