Chapter 3
Teri picked up his helmet and looked at it. No, it was still the same uncomfortable helmet he had wore at the start of the battle.
He rested it on a shelf, where soon four identical headgear would have been collected.
The flight suit was already in its locker, clean like when someone bought it. He tried to imagine who that someone could be, and after lots of thoughts he supposed that Senator Organa was the buyer. He couldn't be sure, but his suspect shouldn't be far from reality: he financed Phoenix cell and other anti-Imperial organisation, so why couldn't he be the right person?
Suddenly the door opened and Phoenix 3 and 4 entered the changing room. They greeted him without saying anything else, and he did the same.
He wasn't a friend of them. 3 and 4 had known themselves for a lot of time; they flew together in their mother world, Naboo, where they were members of the Starfighter Corps.
Teri knew that they told stories about their past and their great missions very often, although he had never listened to them. "They are funny guys; a bit too presumptuous, but funny" Phoenix 2 told him one day.
His usual companion was the only person he knew quite well. They didn't have a relationship similar to 2 and 3's one, but however Skaar exchanged few words with Beirs also when they weren't in mission.
Teri wasn't disappointed about the situation. He was there to fight the Empire and to help a greater force. It had nothing to do with friendship, fun and talking: it was just fighting, for him.
He exited the room and walked along a white painted corridor. All walls in the ship were of the same color, which made them look very efficient and clean. It could seem to walk in tunnels of an Imperial Star Destroyer, except their darker colors and aspect: Phoenix Home made everyone feel safe, while the same couldn't be said about the Destroyers.
He turned in another corridor, where he met a pair of technicians who were running in opposite direction. Maybe they had been called to work on A-wings, so he wished them good luck without a world.
The passage ended in a turbolift. Unfortunately he had to wait near a minute before using it, due to the traffic of personnel operating across the ship to recover from battle. However the travel was very fast and he was moved soon to the main bridge.
There Teri saw the backs of Commander Jun Sato disappearing in briefing room. He also heard some voices coming from that local, and so he decided to listen to his curiosity and entered the room.
In the middle of it there were some people he had never seen before: a Sullustian, a Rodian and two Humans. One of them, however, had something making him look familiar. Skaan tried to remember where did he see him, but he failed. Around them, members of Phoenix Home's crew: Commanders Sato and Tano, Captain Leor and many others; Phoenix 2 was there too.
"Why didn't your smuggling devices work?" Ahsoka Tano was asking. Her lightsabers always remembered everyone how she could be lethal.
"It worked, but Imps should have suspected something, because they put us under arrest without telling anything" responded the familiar-looking man.
"Mh" commented Tano, "it's so strange. Maybe they received a tip".
"Or maybe the Empire saw them taking with us" Sato told suspiciously.
Tano looked at him disappointed. "It's impossible, you know it".
"We can't be sure about anything".
After his answer there was a deep silent. Then the host who already had talked did it again: "At the moment I think that we should just disappear from nearby for a bit. I'll find something else to do".
"I agree" Ahsoka told getting near to him. Sato nodded maintaining his serious mood.
Right in that moment an alarm started ringing. "What's this sound?" asked the Rodian looking around.
"We're under attack!" Commander Sato screamed.
In every part of the room people were running; their faces were very worried and excited voices were growing loudly.
An attack just after a battle. Imperial was giving them not even a second to breathe, and this idea troubled everyone. In fact Teri, like the rest of the crew, run to the nearest door with heart beating too fast. It was like a nightmare.
He had to wait a lot before passing in the exit. Meanwhile he saw the four men they rescued discussing with Commander Sato; Ahsoka was right behind him, talking at a comlink.
"Move, move!" a soldier screamed, and Teri turned back to the door, running out of the room. People were spreading between the several corridors, while some of them were going to the turbolift. He followed that multitude, with the heart beating faster for anxiety. Another battle. Was he prepared?
