Shadow vs. Light
POV STAR
"I have to say." A familiar voice buzzes. "I never expected you to be so lousy with your magic, Star."
"What?" I open my eyes to brightness, then I see the blurry outline of a broken wall.
"Luckily I was passing through." The woman laughs. I roll over and sit up, my head pounding.
"Who...?" I mutter as I hold my head. I can see Jade, Adam, Jason and Marco lying on the floor. I stand up shakily to see Red staring at me. No not me... Someone taller...
I turn around, "CIV?" I gasp.
"I mean did Treetop teach you anything!?" My mom snaps, glowing flames in her hands.
"What are you doing here?" I ask her as blood drips down from my forehead and my legs are very scratched.
"That's almost synonymous with thank you." She scoffs.
"What syrup moose?" I ask, confused.
Civ sighs. "I believe I should go. Marco wanted to be the one to kill her." Civ turns around and walks throughs portal.
"I thought you were on my side!" Red shouts at her.
"I have a thing where I like winning." Civ shrugs. "So I'm going to pick my daughter on this."
"But then why at the beginning did you choose me?" Red seemed really upset.
"I thought you were going to win."
Red smirks.
"I was wrong."
Red shoots her a death glare as Civ closes the portal.
"By mom see you at Christmas!" I wave as a joke. I turn back to Red.
"What now?" I ask.
"I..." Red was at a lost for words.
"Let's just wait for Marco to wake up."
"Or I can destroy you know." Red laughs as black must rises from her hands like flames of evil, "That's been my goal from the start you know."
"Bring it." I get ready for a fight.
"SHADOW SWORD!" She creates a huge sword. A little to big.
"Ah," I create a light sword, normal sized. "I see you still had a problem with quality over quality."
"I don't have a problem."
"C'mon your like a math book... Too many problems to solve in one sitting."
"What?"
"Earth terms, let me simplify." I clear my throat. "You're insane."
Red grits her teeth and her sword grows bigger.
"Let's go Red." I crack my fingers. "You and me."
"I'll take that challenge." Red's sword grows even longer. She dives at me and I jump out of the way. She forms a shield with a funny looking symbol on it. I smile and charge her. With a swift movement she blocks my attack with her shield and goes to stab me with her sword in my chest I create a chest plate just in time and her sword disappears. I land on my feet, do a hand spring back and stare at Red.
"You sure know how to sword fight." She creates a shadow canon, "how are you at dodging?"
"Wow. You are persistent." I make my sword disappear. "Let's see how good a shot you are."
"It would be my pleasure." She shoots a big canon ball at me and I leap to the side. Two more, I duck and roll then I make a trampoline and bounce it back at her.
"That defies the laws of physics!" Red snaps as it explodes a nearby wall. "A trampoline shouldn't stop a canon ball."
"Well this isn't physics. It's magic." I laugh as I flip my hair. "Now how good are you at dodging."
"Unlike you," Red creates a thicker shadow shield. "I don't run."
"Well," I smile. "Let's see." I pick up Marco's bow.
"Wow. You are going to use that? So normal."
"As you may have noticed." I draw the bow and a light arrow appears. "I don't use conventional arrows."
Red smiles and shrugs. "I've been in worse positions."
I grit my teeth and shoot the arrow at her. It hits her shield and disappears. She creates a sword and charges me. I shoot more but she blocks it with her sword.
Anger fills me and then I get an idea. I shoot one more arrow right at her. He goes to block it.
"BREAK!" I scream and flick my first two fingers. It explodes into several smaller arrows and she misses them. I watch as the hit her and she falls.
"Wow Star." Red laughs as she jumps up. Just then did I notice she is covered in armor. "Your quick, but not quick enough."
I create a sword to match hers. "Look like we are back to a square one."
"Huh. I guess so." Red charges me and I block it with a swift motion. I hit her sword but it is so strong that it not only deflects my sword but bounces it back. She swings it at me and it grazes my chin. I lean back and do a back walkover. When I stand up, she is already bring the shadow sword down over her head. I block it and she flys back into the air.
"Here's the one thing Treetop didn't yeah you." She laughs evilly. "And never will."
"What?" I scream. I wasn't really asking, I just wanted to keep her attention away from the stirring Marco.
"Our magic and that stupid forest wizard all have the same type of magic."
"Really?" I think. Did I ever see Treetop use his magic?
"We make things out of our element," she raises her hand. "Which means we use the same spells."
"I mean..." I put down Marco's bow and see him look at me out of the corner of my eye, "I guess we do. If only one of us didn't have bat wings and was a loon we could actually work together."
"What's wrong with bat wings?" She snaps.
"I mean they aren't exactly for humans."
"They are common for people on my planet."
"Wow," I kick the bow towards Marco but she doesn't notice. "What planet is that?"
"The planet of Shadows." She grit her teeth. "You mean the fifth planet in the Color solar system,"
"No I mean the other planet."
"What other planet?"
"That was sarcastic you dunt." She exhales. "Whatever. This conversation has gone on long enough."
"Actually," I hear Marco laugh. "It went on for just long enough."
"What-?" Red starts
"Cya!" Marco laughs as he draws his bow.
But something unexpected happened.
