Wait, What?- Spock
"Spock, dear, I'm going to be fine. I'm not due for another two weeks at least. Use that logical mind of yours and stop worrying. I'll be fine." You reach up and place a hand on your husband's face, stroking his cheek. "Now give your wife a kiss before you head up to the bridge. I'll be here in the room all day."
Spock looked at you for a few more minutes before he gently kissed you, placing a hand on your large stomach and the other behind your neck. "If you request my presence you need only ask. Doctor McCoy is also aware of your condition and will be available to assist you." You smile and kiss him again.
"I know Spock. Now go on. I love you."
"As do I." Spock said expressionless but sweetly.
Once he left, you turned to your PPAD and contacted McCoy. You had started feeling small contractions once you and Spock were getting ready for the day. But you didn't want to worry Spock so you waited to do anything about it until after he left. You sit down on your bed, taking your weight off your feet and rubbing your belly.
"Come on sweetheart, you just have a few more weeks to go." You close your eyes and moan against another contraction. Your water didn't break yet so you were sure it was just Braxton-Hicks contractions.
Your PPAD went off and you saw Bones. "Hey there, Doc." You smile hoping it doesn't look like a grimace.
"Hey yourself. How's the kid?"
"He was kicking a few hours ago but now I'm feeling contractions."
Bones looked up form whatever he was holding in his hands. "Wait and why are you acting all calm about this? I'm sending a nurse to come wheel you in."
You laughed lightly. "No, no don't worry about it. It's just Braxton-Hicks. My water isn't-" You froze mid sentence. Slowly looking down, you tried to keep your breathing steady as you noticed the bed suddenly become wet. You didn't have to say anything for Bones to catch on.
"Right. Like you said, it could be nothing." He sarcastically drawled. "Nurse Kate, I need you to wheel in lieutenant (L/n) in here right now as I prep the delivery room." Looking back at you, Bones helped you regulate your breathing. "When do you want me to bring in pointy ears?"
You tried to laugh at your husband's nickname but let out a groan when another contraction hit. Easing a hand you shook it wildly. "No, please don't get him. Not yet. He doesn't know. He has been worrying too much. Don't bring him in until you are sure me and the baby are alright." You pant, wincing once more.
"I won't argue with you there. Nurse Kate is there now, see you in a few. Keep breathing!" With that he cut the call, right when Nurse Kate came in. You let out a breath and closed your eyes. Spock is not going to be happy when he finds out you were holding out on him.

You kept your screams of pain to a minimum as you were wheeled into the delivery room. McCoy stood there all decked out in his doctor garb. A smile on his face eased your worry, but only just.
"Alright, darling. Take a nice deep breath, it will only take a moment to get you on the bed." He kindly brushed a hair from your sweating face.
You nod and squeeze your eyes tight as you do as he said. You grit your teeth as you are moved, letting out your breath as you relax against the soft bed. You rub your swollen stomach and moan again. "Why do you have to be so persistent?"
You heard a body come close to you but your kept your eyes shut. "Are you sure you don't want me to call in Spock? I know he can be a pain some times but husband's are known to be good to take the pain out on."
You laugh a bit at Bones' remark, but you shook your head. "No. I'm sure. Kirk needs him on the bridge and focused."
"Well. The moment you start tired on me, I'm calling him in. No excuses."
You take deep breaths and nod, not wanting to use your energy on talking. You feel nurses around you helping you get comfortable. Nurse Kate stays by your side to hold your hand. You send her a small smile in thanks. Bones comes over and puts a hand on your knee.
"I need to see if you have dilated." You see him disappear behind the cloth draped over your open legs. You grit with another contraction. Bones popped up and nodded to Nurse Kate. He then turns to a few more nurses to say something then turns back to you. "You are ready to go, darling. Push with the next contraction."
And you did. Sweat, pain and yelling became your existence as you tried to bring your child into the world. You started to regret not having Spock with you. He always had a knack for helping you feel calm. It took two hours before Bones finally started to see something.
"You are doing great! One more time, I can see the top of his head." The doctor said from between your legs, sounding excited. That gave you the extra energy you needed to push again and this time you heard a small cry echo yours.
Tears fell from your eyes in happiness as you relaxed on the bed. Bones handed the small child to one of the nurses to clean up as he went to clean himself off.
"Congratulations doll, you have a beautiful son."
Nurse Kate whispered next to you.
You turn to look at Nurse Kate to tell her to bring in Spock but the look on her face made the request die on your lips. She was staring up at the monitor above your head, her eyebrows furrowed in worry. She turned, avoiding your eyes, to look to Doctor McCoy.
"Doctor. You need to look at this."
You look around worriedly. "What is going on? Is my son alright?" Your breathing started to quicken. A sharp pain hit your stomach, causing you to cry out in pain. "What is it?"
Bones came back to the bed, Nurse Kate leaving you to quietly converse with him. They looked back and forth between you, the monitor and your son. You looked at them pleadingly, calling out for them to explain what was going on. Another contraction suddenly grabbed ahold of your body.
Bones pulled his attention away from Nurse Kate after he told her something and she rushed off then he came to your side. "Keep breathing darling. There is another one."
You hold your breath. Another one? Two? But you were told you were pregnant with one. Another contraction hit you and you screamed, too tired to do anything but cry. Where is Spock?
Bones disappeared between your legs again, letting a few choice words escape his lips, clearly not happy with what he saw. "We may have to do an emergency C-section. Nurse Kate, did you-"
"Yes sir, he is on his way."
"Good. Hey there (Y/n), you are doing so well but I need you to push when you get another contraction."
You shake your head, tears falling fast. "I can't, I am too tired." You practically whispered, pleading with your eyes. "What is going on?"
"Your son was so large that he covered the other one almost perfectly. They are small and not sure if they will make it, but that doesn't mean we won't try."
Your head spun with the new information. Twins? You guess that would explain the abnormally large stomach for a single pregnancy. Suddenly the sound of running steps barged into the room and you were soon covered with sweet kisses.
"Spock." You whisper, turning your face to him, your eyes closing to his sudden public show of affection. He sat down next to you and held your hand, his other hand stroking your hair. Your breathing starts to even out.
"I am here." He turns his attention to Bones. "Doctor, what may I do to assist? Is she in pain? What of my son?" If you weren't so out of it, you could have sworn the unemotional Vulcan was on the verge of tears. You squeeze his hand and feel him squeeze back.
"Calm your ears Spock. Your son is alright and being see to my Nurse Kate. But your wife is holding not one child but two and we are worried the other won't make it. But she is strong and I'm sure this one will be too." He checked the monitor one last time then turned to you. "Push now doll."
You turn your head to your husband, shut your eyes tight and cry out in pain as you pushed hard. Suddenly you felt something come out but no echoing cry filled the room. You breathed hard, not opening your eyes in fear of seeing something that would break you. Spock kissed the side of your face, wiping your forehead. You were too weak to do much else but focus on your breathing.
Spock stood as he watched the doctor pick up the small baby, rubbing it to wake it up. Spock came up to him and looked at the very small child in the blanket. "What is it doctor?"
Bones looked up for a second but then got back to waking the unresponsive child. "You have a daughter Spock but she isn't responding."
The room grew quiet. New tears spilled out of your eyes as you failed to avoid thinking the worst. Silent sobs racked your body as nurses silently started cleaning you up. Spock looked to you then back to Bones.
"Leonard, may I hold my daughter?" Spock asked, almost whispered.
Bones looked into the eyes of his friend and nodded mutely, handing him the small bundle. Spock held her gently, taking in her small features. It scared him not seeing her breath, but he held her close to his heart, closing his eyes as he let a tear fall. Quietly he sat back down next to you, making sure you were able to see her but not touch her, it would make it too real.
"Look at your daughter. She is beautiful, like you. And she is strong." Spock whispered to you, touching the small pointed ears she inherited from him. A sudden twitch of her ear made Spock's breath hitch. He continued to rub her ears as he watched her mouth slowly open and let out a blood curdling cry.
Your eyes shot open and Spock suddenly stood, rushing to the doctor so he could do what was necessary to keep her alive. Bones looked at the Vulcan in surprise but smiled as he clapped him on the back.
"You are going to be a good father Spock." Bones commented as he passed your daughter to a waiting nurse to cleaned and dressed her, her strong voice still sounding even in the other room.
Spock moved back to you and waited with you as you rested, ready to see your two children. You looked up at your husband and smiled. "You saved her." You whispered, reaching up to stroke his cheek.
"You are the one who brought two lives into the world. My love for you has grown, despite the impossibility." He leaned down and kissed your lips, savoring your natural state.
"Here you are. Congratulations to the new parents." Bones walked over with your now calm daughter as Nurse Kate held your son.
Spock picked up his son and marveled over his strong hand that clasped his father's finger. You sat up gingerly and took your daughter, letting new tears fall as you took in her cute pointed ears.
You turn to your husband as he turned to you. Your heart filled with happiness as you realized that your whole world is in one room and you loved them more than life itself.
What about that, huh?! Keep up the comments, votes, and requests! Don't be afraid to share! Thank you so much for the love so far! Love you all, kisses!
