Painful Confessions - Spock

The first thing you noticed was the amount of pain your whole body was in. You groan and try to roll over but then you remembered you were in an alien ship.

Your eyes shoot open and you look around. Spock moaned somewhere near your feet. You blinked at how bright it was. Looking up, you found a top hatch open. You grunt and struggle your way out, wincing at the sudden brightness. Graceful would not be the way to describe how you got down from the ship. You laid down on the ground and caught your breath, trying to not exactly think about what all just happened. Suddenly you see movement, causing you to stand quickly, ready to fight them off. But you let out a breath of relief when you saw it was just Spock.

That relief turned to worry as soon as you saw the large piece of metal sticking out of his chest, just missing his heart. You quickly came to his side to help him.

"Oh God, Spock." He heavily planted his feet on the ground, graciously leaning onto you as you did your best to support him. "Lets lay you down over here." Spock moaned once you laid him to rest on the front of the alien ship. "Easy, easy." You looked him over once you were sure he was propped up alright.

You looked at his wound, your hands hovering over it as if they would magically heal it. "Um, ok. You are going to be fine. Everything will be ok." You said more to yourself than to him.

Spock lifted his head slightly to look at you then his wound. "The forced optimism in your voice shows that you are trying to illicit a sense of calm-"

You snorted and pointed a finger at him. "Oh be quiet you. This is some horse shit I wasn't trained for." You again, said more to yourself than to the Vulcan.

You may be a doctor but you were still Scottish. But like your older brother always said, the Scottish know how to take care of their own with a bottle of scotch and sharp object. With no scotch handy you start looking for a pointy object.

Spock once again lifted his head slightly. "Doctor, I fail to see how excrement of any kind bares relevance to our current situation." He suddenly reaches up onto your shoulder to pull himself up, wincing badly in the process. Your eyes go wide and you place your hand on his chest, hoping to push him back down.

"Whoa, what in God's name are you doing?"

"We must keep moving."

"Spock! This thing's punctured your iliac region!"

"Time is a ritual factor."

"That's exactly what I'm trying to tell you! Look, if I cant take it out, you're gonna die. Ok? If I take it out and can't stop the bleeding, you're gonna die."

"I can see no appeal in either option." Spock lets out a breath as you shake your head.

"Yeah well, believe it or not, neither can I, pointy ears." With that you patted his shoulder and left him to find your pointy object. "So, if I remember correctly, the Vulcans have their hearts where humans have their livers." You picked something up off the ground then went to the ship.

Spock turned to look at you, his eyes drooping. "That is correct, Doctor."

You nod your head and started pulling on a part of the ship. "That explains a thing or two." You look over at him and try not to let his pained expression get to you. "You know, you are lucky. An inch or two to the left," the ship part finally broke free, flinging you back into a large puddle of water, "you would already be dead." You stand up and shake yourself off. "I just don't get it, Spock. Why would they attack us? Just because they wanted that little doodad those little critters didn't want?"

You started banging a phaser like weapon with a rock, hoping to break it enough to heat the end of the pointy object your found.

"It is unwise to trivialize that which one simply does not understand, Doctor. I think we can safely assume it is more important than a doodad." Spock winced again, his breath becoming more labored.

You laugh and wipe your nose. "I think you just managed to insult me twice, Spock." You took the gun and aimed it at the metal point and seared it until it was glowing hot. "Okay. Alright, Spock, I have just one question for you." You go up to him and end up straddling him to get close to his wound. "What's your favorite color?"

Spock raised his head a bit and looked at you with bewilderment. "I fail to the the relevance-"

You took that moment to yank out the metal piece in his gut and then immediately cauterize the wound with the heated metal tip.

Spock's screams of pain made the hairs on the back of your neck rise and you almost let out a sob. But you needed to make sure this worked, for his sake. You made sure not to look at his face once you pulled it out, looking at it then his wound.

"Yeah, they say it hurts less when it's a surprise." You looked at the metal piece that caused the wound in the first place. It was really nasty.

"To adopt a parlance with which you would be familiar, Doctor, I have just confirmed that theory to be horse shit."

You laughed, leaning forward to wipe his forehead and move some of his hair out of disarray. A sudden noise in the distance caused you to look up in worry. Bending down so Spock could lean on you again, you help him up off the ship. "We need to get out of here. Come on."

You aren't sure how long you two have been walking for but you were sure Spock won't be able to go for much farther. You pulled out your communicator and tried to get ahold of anyone.

"(L/n) to Enterprise. Hello? (L/n) to Enterprise." The line was still dead so you put it away. Spock suddenly started moving faster, you caught up to him, reaching out to grab him around his arm and middle. "Hey, easy there Spock, that was just a temporary fix back there."

He looked down at you and you could have sworn you saw his lips move upward just a fraction. "I understand, Doctor." He whispered to you but the sound of bugs fluttering grabbed his attention. The two of you came upon a cave like dwelling. "Fascinating."

"Ominous. Dark. Dangerous." You grumbled under your breath but Spock's body being the larger of the two of you and him leaning on you made it hard to not follow him into the cave. "We're going in." You rolled your eyes.

Spock pulled away from you to inspect some kind of writing on the wall. "Intriguing. These symbols are the same as those depicted on the artifact taken in the attack."

You come up close to his shoulder, wrapping your arm around his, making sure he didn't fall. "You think it came from here?" You whispered.

Spock looked down at you and studied your face before answering. "If would seem so." He whispered back. It looked like he was about to reach up and touch your face but he contorted in pain, leaning on you heavily, causing you to cry out.

"Bloody hell, Spock! Easy, easy." You coo under your breath as you lay him down to rest, not liking the state of his wound. You lean him up against the wall, making sure to keep him awake. You sit down next to him, finally letting yourself relax just a bit.

After a few minuets passed, you turned to look at Spock. He looked ashen with a tint of green. You hit your lip, leaning close to him to make sure he was breathing. You reached your hand up and touched his cheek but he didn't react. Now that got you worried.

"Spock, come on man don't leave me." You grunted under your breath as you straddled him gain to get a good look at him. He reached up and took her hand in his, gently, opening his eyes just enough to look at you.

"I am entirely conscious, Doctor. I am simply contemplating the nature of mortality." You rolled your eyes and leaned over so your head rested on one of his shoulders.

"Going all philosophical, eh? You have lost a lot of blood, that may be why." You mumbled into his chest. You sat there for a moment when you felt his hand rest on your back, making small circles.

"Ambassador Spock has died." Spock suddenly whispered. You sat up and looked at him with wide eyes.

"I'm so sorry. I can't imagine what that feels like."

"When you have lived as many lives as he has, fear of death is illogical." His voice grew shaky and his breathing became ragged.

You leaned forward so he was looking into your eyes, you hand a cupping his face. "Fear of death is what keeps is alive." You whispered, looking at his dark eyes, pleading for him to not think so negatively.

"I want to live as he did. Thats why I have decided to redirect my efforts to continue his work on new Vulcan."

You froze, then slowly sat back. "But what of Kirk? And the crew?" A tear slipped down your cheek. "I won't be able to tease you as much, that's for sure."

Spock, with great effort, raised his hand to stroke your cheek. "Believe me when I say it was not an easy choice, considering the factors in play."

You swallow and lean into his touch. "What factors?" You leaned in closer as he pulled you to him.

"Some of which I am not sure are within regulation guide lines." He chuckled.

You look at him with wide eyes. He laughed. Spock looked at you when you stoped moving then pulled you all the way, claiming you lips gently with his.

The two of you had to keep moving but the sounds of drones made the two of you stop.

"Leaving me behind will significantly increase your chances of survival, Doctor."

"Well that's bloody chivalrous of you, but completely out of the question." You growl as you hold on to him. More drones showed up, trapping the both of you effectively.

"It is imperative that you locate any surviving crew."

"And what, you aren't a crew member? Here I was thinking you cared."

"Of course I care, (Y/n). I always assumed my respect for you was clear. My actions toward you may not have clearly shown how I have felt about you, nevertheless-"

"It's okay, Spock. You don't have to say it."

"Well, at least I won't die alone." You hear the sound of a transporter beam but you don't see it around you. Looking behind you, you catch the last bits of Spock being beamed out. You rolled your eyes. "Well that's just perfect, isn't it?!"

You turn to fight the guys head on but suddenly you were facing the transporter room. You let your shoulders relax until you heard Spock moan. You rushed over to him and helped him lay down. When no one was looking, you kissed him on the forehead, caressing his and that took yours.

"Hold on, I'll try to fix you up as best as I can, that way you can tell Kirk your true feelings." You hope he got your underlined meaning.

He closed his eyes and nods. "I trust you." He whispers. You smile and nod, suddenly filled with more energy.
