Five More Minutes- Kirk
As requested by blxckyouknow-I hope it's to your liking! Thanks for the request!
*Last year in the Academy*
You heard movement next to you, the light of morning seeping through your eyelids. You felt someone brush hair out of your face. You let out a little moan, moving to face the other direction.
You hear a deep chuckle followed by the sound of a chair moving. "Of course you fell asleep in the library. Again." The hand returned, caressing your cheek sweetly. "If you don't hurry, you'll miss breakfast."
You let out another annoyed moan. "Five more minutes."
Kirk smirked as he watched you rest your head on a small stack of old paper books. When you didn't meet him at your usual spot for breakfast he knew where to find you. With the last exams coming up he knew you would be studying in the library and had fallen asleep. He looked down at you, your face cute and peaceful.
He would have sat there forever, soaking in your beauty had your stomach not growled followed by his answering back like a dying whale. That made you snort, smiling with your eyes still closed.
"I can't wait until we can go for days without needing to stop and eat," you croaked with your morning voice as you turned to face your best friend.
Jim rubbed his face and looked away to hid the blush that was forming not only from the sound of your voice but the sweet tired look on your face. He never had the urge to know what it would be like to wake up with you had his side until then.
"Well, I personally love food too much to sit here and think about that possibility. Come on, If we hurry you can swing by your room to change."
You stood shakily, taking Jim's outstretched hand. "Aren't you the charmer..." you looked at him, winking, "You sure you don't have a thing for me?"
Jim rolled his eyes. "For the millionth time, quit flattering yourself. I'm an unattached man and I plan to stay that way."
You both knew the exchange was all in jest but you just woke from a wonderful dream involving the playboy before you, so your heart hurt just a bit more than usual at his response. You shrugged, leaning into him as the two of you walked to the mess hall. "Pitty."
Jim looked down at you, your arm wrapped with his, your head leaning on his shoulder. He could get used to seeing you like this but he had a reputation to uphold. Besides, he didn't think he would ever be a good catch for you; you deserve the best.
He couldn't wait for graduation for two reasons; he wanted to be captain of a ship like his father before him and he wanted to get away from you. You were far too much of a temptation to be around for too much longer. He was in danger of falling for you. Hard.

*Two years later*
You tugged at your red dress, standing in the mass of transfers waiting to get their new ship assignments. You watched the stoic Vulcan, listening intently for your name but you almost missed it when you could have sworn you saw someone behind him. Someone you were aching to see again.
"(L/n); Enterprise," echoed the Vulcan, making you snap to attention.
You blinked. The Enterprise.
Before you could think any further the group dispersed and you followed your fellow Enterprise crewmates to the shuttle that will take you to the Pearl of Starfleet. You were so excited all you could think that you would be able to confront Kirk on why he has kept his distance.
It hurts already that he won't talk as often as he used to while in the Academy, but it hurt even more hearing from other girls about their time with him. So you just got lost in your studies and worked to get high enough specs to be assigned to his ship. And now that that dream became reality you weren't sure how you were going to bring it up.
Sadly you didn't get to see him. In fact, you were on the ship for three weeks before you were able to see him in person. Your heart swelled when you saw him on the ship screens giving orders or updates. Even hearing his voice over the speakers gave you goose bumps.
The two of you did keep in touch, but since being assigned to the Enterprise you have kept the fact you were on the same ship a sort of secret from him. Not like he would do anything about it. You were just worried he would find ways to avoid you in person when you finally have the chance to see him.
You were called by Mr. Scott to join an away team to aid with upgrades on a Starfleet outpost on a planet they happen to be passing. You walked into the transporter room, adjusting your work leggings and boots, looking down and not paying attention to your surroundings. You successfully bumped into a man, muttering your apologies. But when he spoke, your blood ran cold and your eyes widened. You kept your face down, pretending to mess with something on your utility belt.
"No, please, my apologies." Kirk's voice was deeper in person, kinder than you remembered it. Having only kept in contact through messages and having only heard his voice through a computer, you weren't exactly ready to be this close to him. Perhaps you weren't ready to confront him just yet.
You shook your head, pressing forward. "It's alright. Excuse me."
Jim blinked. You seemed familiar. Sure enough, as you stepped up on a pad you were forced to look up and Jim about raced forward, pulling you from the transporter pad and holding on to you to never lose you again. You tried to look away from him but his blue eyes kept hold of your (e/c) ones as if in a spell.
But, to your relief, you found yourself soon staring at a rock, the wind of the planet ripping at your hair and dress. You let out a breath as you got your team together, starting for the outpost on the windy planet. You were ready to be preoccupied with the task at hand.
On the ship, Jim was beside himself. He stood in the transporter room for a good five minutes before he came to his senses and rushed to find Spock. The Vulcan was on the Bridge, signing documents.
"Hey, do you happen to have the new recruit list?" The blond leaned against the wall trying to look as uninterested as possible.
Without looking up from his work, Spock pointed to one of the PADDs on the console. "Here Captain."
Kirk picked up the PADD before Spock was done talking. "Thank you."
Spock looked up, a brow raised in question. "Of course, Captian."
Kirk gave him a small grateful smile, saluting him before rushing off to read the list in one of the side conference rooms. He scrolled through the surprisingly long list until the name he was looking for popped up. He let out a breath he didn't know he was holding.
Your name stared up at him, memories flooding back at full force. When he saw you in the transporter room he thought is was someone like you, making him wish it was actually you. But knowing that it truly was you...
He ran his hands through his hair. How many times in the last two years has he wished, more than once a day, that you were with him like the old days. Bones would tell him to just have you transferred here but Jim didn't want to look exactly how he felt; desperate to have you at his side again. Joking, smiling, falling asleep randomly and always being there for each other.
A call came for him, bringing him back to the present. Before he left the room he made a mental promise to himself; when you get back he is going to tell you exactly how he felt.

You tied the cloth around your mouth tighter as you bent over a power converter. These poor outpost workers are getting sand stuck in everything. Apparently, no one took in the sand and wind factor when setting everything up. You let out a satisfied sigh when you got the sand guard on and secure.
You rushed back to the cave you and your crew were temporarily set up in. You tried to ignore the cracking sound of the rock above you, telling yourself it was just sand hitting the small mountain. You noticed cracked when you first set up but nothing had happened yet and it has been over five hours. No one else around you seemed worried so you shook it off.
You were looking over the checklist of what needed to be done when you heard a cry from someone deeper in the cave. You looked up and your heart raced as you saw your crew rush out of the cave. You thought something was chasing them out but you quickly saw that it was, in fact, the cave ceiling collapsing in on them.
"EVERYONE OUT! HEAD TO THE OUTPOST!" You yelled, standing where you were not leaving until you were sure everyone was out.
The last officer left right when the entrance of the cave started to crumble. You froze, not sure if you should run for it, let alone if you would make it. You looked back and the sight of the coming rock wall made the decision for you. You said a silent prayer as you ran as fast as you could out of the cave.
You let out a breath as you cleared the entrance, coming out into the windy air. But you didn't see nor hear the falling rocks behind you due to the loud wind and swirling sand. One of the larger rocks struck the back of your head, knocking you out quickly.

Jim rushed through the halls, his heart beating wildly from the moment he heard the away team beamed back early and their leader was injured. You. He rushed through the Med-bay doors, finding himself greeted by a wall of dirty and windswept officers, looking worriedly at their leader lying on a biobed.
You were completely still, your face looking like it did the morning he found you in the library all those years ago. Jim stepped forward, pressing through the crowd, his eyes never leaving you.
"Bones?" He ignored the crack in his own voice.
The doctor finished looking you over, placing a thermal blanket over your resting body. "I'm sorry, Jim. She's in a coma."
DONT PANIC! I have part two already in the works!
