You couldn't keep the smile off your lips. The sound of real chirping birds, the feel of real sun rays hitting your skin and the smell of a real ocean caused you to fall into a state of utter bliss. You felt a warm body slid into the sheets behind you. As if it were possible, your smile grew bigger. With your eyes still closed, you turned in the bed, deftly wrapping your arms and burring your face into your husband's chest. He smelled of late night movies with day old popcorn and picnics on the observation deck after a stressful mission.

You feel Jim's arms wrap around you and pull you closer as he kissed the top of your head, resting his own on top of yours. His breathing matched pace with yours and before you knew it, you were asleep again.

Jim smiled into your hair. How in the world did he get this lucky? Even though you agreed to marry him during a deadly battle and the two of you have been married for three years, he still falls in love with you every morning. Your peaceful face and quiet sleeping noises gave him a sense of security he has only ever felt with you. But the fact that he gets to wake up and go to sleep with you by his side every single night, he feared that any second he will wake from his most blissful dream.

Jim specially requested a shore leave on an M-class planet with a coastline covered in the softest sand known to man and the perfect temperature waves that would lap playfully at your feet. Everything was planned and specified with your utter comfort in mind. You didn't take the Captain of the Enterprise to be such a doting husband, but the moment he knew you were the one, you never were in want for love and attention.

And what makes his actions mean even more is that, despite the change in expletory plans, your pregnancy didn't change the way he treated you. In fact, he attributes his currently excellent captaining skills to the soon arrival of your children.

Jim gently repositioned himself so one of his hands could rest on your second trimester bulging belly. You were so worried about being so large, but Jim absolutely adored how your ankles would swell and he would be able to rub them after a hard day's work. Or how you would suddenly crave the most obscure things, but he would smile as he watched your face fill with content as you ate. But his personal favorite was when your face gained a little more weight and he would take your beautiful face in both his hands and watch as your cheeks and lips would scrunch together and he would laugh as he kissed you silly. You hated it at first but you came to look forward to it every now and then.

Suddenly the both of you jumped, your eyes meeting one another's. Now fully awake, you looked at Jim in shock. Jim looked back at you, but a smile grew on his lips. You licked your lips before you spoke.

"Did you feel that?" You whispered, not wanting to break this magical moment.

"I sure did sweetheart."

Tears welled up in your eyes as you moved onto your back, leaning up against Jim's chest that way you could cradle your unborn child. "They moved! I was so worried. I didn't want to think the worst but now I..." You were cut off by your husband giving you little tiny kisses down your face, to your neck, and onto your shoulder.

"You are so amazing. You know that right? Our boys are going to be so strong. I am the father of course." He smirked.

You numbly nodded, trying to process the fact that they, your two little boys, were kicking around in there. You closed your eyes as Jim started to kiss you lightly again, whispering sweet nothings into your skin, giving you goosebumps. You leaned into his soft caresses, but jumped again, this time laughing as the small boys fought for room in their small womb.

Jim moved to kissing your large middle, causing you to let out soft laughs, your hand playing with his soft hair. You watched as he took great care with you, being extremely gentle but strong at the same time. You let a few happy tears fall as you imagined sitting on your bed once the babies were born and you having your whole world in one room.

"Oh, my wonderful boys." You whisper as you let yourself drown in utter happiness.

Jim moved back up to your face and looked deep into your eyes. "And your wonderful boys will protect their queen with their lives." He then leaned in and kissed you so thoroughly that you had to remind yourself to breathe. He pulled away and pushed some of your hair out of your face. "I am going to go make some breakfast. Sit tight beautiful."

You giggled but shook your head. "No, I'm coming with. I want to see the ocean."  You struggled to your feet, but with Jim's gentle push from behind you were able to stand and wobble to the window overlooking the soft waves crashing into a bed of rocks. You hear soft laughing from behind you, so you turn as gracefully as you could to find your husband sitting up in bed, looking at you with the most loving look. You gave him a questioning smile.

"Oh, nothing. I'm just falling even more in love with you. I don't just love you. I am IN love with you." He chuckled and just sat there watching you. You smirk and cock a hip.

"Well, I would sure hope so. I happen to be IN love with you too and this," you lovingly rub your middle, "is yours as much as it's mine. One child for each of us." Jim's smile grew at your remark as he stood and came up to you, turning you to look out the window as he pressed your back to his chest. He wrapped his arm around you from behind and you rested your head back on his shoulder.

"We are going to be wonderful parents." Your husband whispered into your ear, causing you to smile wide.

"No pressure Captain Kirk." You turned your head and kissed his jaw then turned back to the view.

Jim went back to kissing you lightly all over any exposed skin he could find. You smiled and rubbed the back of his hand as the both of his and your hands rested on your now moving stomach. Life could never get any better.
