Accidentally- James T Kirk

"Oh come on Sulu, it wasn't THAT bad of a game."

"Captain, as much as I respect your leadership skills and your knack for getting us out of precarious situations you have gotten us into, you cannot fence to save your life." Sulu chuckled as he gave his Captain a sure pat on the back.

Kirk let out a frustrated huff as he trudged back to his room. He flopped down on his bed with a grunt, burying his face in his pillow. How can he be good at pretty much everything on this ship but darn fencing?! Kirk had been so preoccupied with his moping that he didn't hear his door open or the footsteps of his visitor until he got startled by a small voice.

You had seen your Captain and dear friend trudge sadly back to his room. You shook your head and smiled to yourself as you yourself slowly made your way to his room to see if you could help him cheer up. You had a few things in mind. But as you stepped into his room, you almost regretted it instantly.

"Captain..."

Jim turned quickly, grasping the foil firmly in his hand, thrusting it forward in reflex. His startled eyes turned to worry and horror as he took in what he did. You stood there, your arm raised to get his attention, your eyes once full of concern now brim with pain and confusion.

Like slow motion, you looked down at your shoulder and watched as a line of blood trickled down from the place where the fencing foil and your shoulder made contact. Luckily the Captain isn't strong with his attacks in fencing or else it would have gone all the way through. You slowly looked up at Jim, you already starting to feel like fainting. To heck with your weak stomach.

Jim sucked in a breath as he quickly pulled the foil out of your shoulder to let it clang to the floor of his room. You fell forward, but Jim caught you gently and cradled you to his chest.

"Ow," you whimper, "so much for checking to see if you were alright." You smirk slightly as your eyes start to droop.

Some unsavory words escaped his lips as he rushed you to Med Bay.

"Thank goodness Sulu was right, I do suck at my thrusts. I could have hurt her so badly."

You hear voices as you start to gain consciousness again. You groan and twitch. Suddenly the voices stop and you feel a pressure on your hand. You groan again and try to open your eyes.

"You see there Jim, she's fine. Now quit your moaning and help the girl sit up. I need to get her to drink something, poor girl sleeps with her mouth open."

Jim and Bones' figures finally formed and you couldn't help but laugh, more like let more air out of your nose than normal. Your Captain looked like he went through a car wash, his hair was all messed up and he was practically dripping with sweat, he was so worried. Jim looked at your face and smiled.

"There she is." He lifts one of his hands and strokes your cheek. You smiled weakly, but you watched as he let his eyes drop, his hand following suit. "I am so sorry (Y/n). I guess I was still hyped up from my session with Sulu that I wasn't..."

After taking a few sips of water, you lift your uninjured arm and place your finger on his lips.

"Shhh. Captain, you didn't kill me. I just happen to have a weak stomach and now a new scar to show people." You were starting to get yourself back to normal. You tried to move your injured arm. Ok. So maybe not all the way back to normal.

"She's right Jim. Now here," McCoy hands you a box with clean bandages and tape, "change the bandage before you go to bed. But you should be good as new in the morning. We ran out of the good meds a few days ago." He glares at Jim then goes back to his work. "Good thing we are heading in for supply pickup." And with that grumbling under his breath, he left you and Jim alone.

You look at your Captain and find him smirking after his CMO. He then looks over at you. "Come on. Let's get you back to your room." He fakes a grunt as he helps you stand. You couldn't help but laugh.

Jim left you at your place for a while to let you get changed into more comfortable clothing as he left to go return the cursed thing that hurt you. You figured Sulu wasn't going to have his Captain as a pupil anytime soon.

A couple hours later and after a simple and light dinner, you sat on your bed and stared at the medical supplies splayed in front of you. How in the world were you supposed to get this done with one hand? You were an engineer, good with wires and the like, not bandages. You huffed and flopped backward on the bed, wincing as your shoulder hit your hard pillow. You raise your good arm up and over your eyes, if only Jim were here. It was his fault after all.

As if his ears were burning, your door suddenly opened and the man in question entered your room.

"How is my shishkabob?" You never liked to admit it to the other female officers, but you sure as heck could admit it to yourself. Jim Kirk is one heck of a good looking guy. He has been your friend for years and you have heard (and one time unfortunately saw) Jim get with girls all the time. But deep down, you had hoped he held a special spot for you in his playboy heart. After all, it was your hacking skills that got him the virus to beat the Kobayashi Maru.

You sit up a little too quickly and wince in reply. He rushes forward and checks to make sure you weren't bleeding again.

"That good huh?" He chuckled and you smacked him on the arm.

"It's because of you that I'm in pain. And it's not every day I get a rod of metal shoved in my shoulder." Jim sobers up after you said that, though you didn't mean to be so harsh. "But I would appreciate it if you could help me get this bandaged up, seeing as how you are also to blame for all the good medicine being gone." You look at him sideways and smirk.

Kirk takes the supplies off your bed and motion for you to sit on the couch as he sat on the coffee table. "Hey, it wasn't exactly just my fault. Chekov wanted to show me something, and I must admit I kind of egged him on, and it got out of hand. We have come to learn that those native rat things from the last planet don't like being painted the color blue..." He let it trail off as you sat yourself down in front of him and let out a strong laugh.

"Jim Kirk, what are we going to do with you?"

"Well I shouldn't have been given a ship and a crew, that's for sure."

"No, you shouldn't have been given a fencing foil."

"Touché."

You had the biggest smile on your face and Jim could not bring himself to look away. You had always grabbed his attention, ever since you both started at the Academy. But he had been too scared to make a move. But now...not so much.

You tilted your head to the side, knowing he was thinking hard about something, but you really needed to get your arm tended to. So, a lot more gently this time, you reached your hand out and touched his leg.

"Jim?"

Instead of snapping to attention, Jim focused slowly on your hand on his leg then up your arm to your bandaged shoulder and lastly, lingering the longest, he looked at your face. His features became soft and it was like he suddenly shed the title of Captain of the Enterprise and became just Jim Kirk.

Without words, he gently started to unwrap your shoulder, taking great care to not move it too much. The brush of his fingers on your exposed skin gave you goose bumps. You didn't flinch when he applied the cold ointment and his fingers seemed to linger. You watch his face as he concentrated on fixing you the best he could. You let your eyes travel over his face; taking in his soft skin, his electric blue eyes, and his perfect hair. Absentmindedly, you let your good arm reach up to let you play with a piece of his hair that had fallen into his eyes. You don't know how much time passed until Jim captured your hand that was playing with his hair in his hands. Your eyes locked and it was like time completely stopped.

"Y/n...I am so sorry." He leaned in a bit closer as his growling soft voice traveled to your ears. He took his other hand and cupped your cheek. "How can I make it up to you?" His baby blue eyes searched your face, hoping to find some inside to gain your trust back.

You shook your head slightly and leaned in a bit more. Only a sliver of space separated you both, your breath mingling with his. "Jim, it's not like I'm on my deathbed." He smirked at that. Then you saw a flash of something in his eyes and a smile crept upon his lips.

"Good thing you aren't, or else it would be hard to do this." You weren't able to process what he said before you felt warm pressure on your lips. Your eyes closed and you leaned into him more. Oh how badly you had wanted to be those girls, that now you let your feelings take over. Your good arm snaked up his chest and around his neck, as his arms gently held you around your waist and neck, pressing you closer to him.

You both pulled apart gasping for breath. A smile graced his lips and a dazed look held his eyes. You couldn't help but giggle. He leaned down and lightly kissed you a few more times before he scooped you up in his arms and set you down next to him on your bed.

He scooted closer to you and traced patterns on your arm. You looked at him and started playing with his hair again. "I think this is a good start to you making it up to me." You ventured a look at his expression. He looked you in the eyes and smiled a true and happy smile.

"Good. Cause I was thinking the same thing." And with that, he kissed you one more time before you pulled you close to his chest, for fear of you leaving him and this all turning out to be a dream.

As well as keeping this one well stocked with new stories. I just recently have been going through some adult job stuff, so now that that has calmed down, I should be able to do more writing!
