A small bouquet of flowers was randomly delivered to the door of your quarters. You gently picked them up, examining the vibrant colors of the peddles. They were your favorite kinda of flower, only they seemed to be modified a little to have more colors than the regular breed.

A small note was attached to the stem and leaves, it seemed to be written in ink like scripts from way back over four hundred years ago.

"To Y/N

I left you these beautiful flowers because a magnificent woman shouldn't be without something that mirrors their beauty. Although, you're more beautiful."

The note wasn't signed. You smiled, softly stroking the soft pedals. You took the flowers into your quarters, placing them on the center of the table and the note beside it.

Pavel Chekov watched from around the corner. He had left the flowers and the note for you, but he was too shy to really go up and talk to you.

"Sir?" Pavel asked, nervously fiddling with his thumbs as he walked up to Captain Kirk. Kirk looked up from the PADD he was reading, surprised by his youngest ensign coming to talk to him.

"Yes, Chekov?" Kirk asked, turning the PADD off and looking up at Pavel.

"If you're busy sir it can wait." Pavel muttered, stuttering slightly over his words. He was extremely fidgety to ask for dating advice from the captain.

"Nah it's fine I needed a break anyway. Seven long reports in two hours, still got three to go. I welcome a break." Kirk reassured Pavel, motioning for him to sit across grin him on the table.

"Sir, I need help asking someone out. I've liked her for a while and I've been anonymously leaving her things like flowers and candy. I've also left a note in writing I usually don't use. I want to ask her out really bad but I have no idea how." Pavel rambled, trying to explain the situation best he could without drawling on and on.

"Does she seem flattered by the flowers and candy?" Kirk asked, surprising Pavel with this question. It wasn't what he expected at all.

"She seems to like them." Pavel admitted, looking down at his thumbs again and turning a dark shade of red; he was embarrassed.

"That's good. It means when she finds out its you, she'll probably be relieved to finally know who it is. That's when you ask her out." Kirk said, turning the sound off on the PADD. It kept making an annoying ding every ten seconds or so.

"What if she's disappointed?" Pavel asked, butterflies swelling in his stomach at the thought of asking you out.

"She won't be. She's grown to like the gestures and the notes, therefore she's already kinda fallen for you in a sense. She already likes you without knowing you. How big I an age gap can I ask?" Kirk asked at the end. Pavel relaxed, he felt much better after that.

"About two years sir. I'm not 100% sure. But two years should be about right. I'm younger." Pavel answered, a smile on his face now.

"Two years is nothing. And anyway, if she doesn't want to date you, I'm sure she did appreciate the gestures." Kirk reassured, finally getting agitated and picking up the PADD. "I should get to work." He grumbled, turning on the device and sighing.

"Of course sir. Thank you." Pavel said, running out of the room to leave the captain with his work.

"Ensign Y/N?" Pavel Chekov asked, slowly walking over to you. His hands were behind his back, he nervously rocked on his heels.

"Yes?" You ask, looking up from your work.

"I'm... Uh... The one who left you the flowers.. And chocolates... And the book.." Pavel muttered, looking instantly down at his feet and continuously rocking back and forth on his heels.

"Awww. Thank you!" You say, setting down the plant you were working with and pulling him into a hug.

"I was.. Uh... Wondering if you'd like to go out..." Pavel asked while you two were embraced in a hug.

"I'd love to." You say, kissing his cheek and watching him turn dark red.

"Thank you. I can't wait. Saturday? 6:30?" Pavel asked. His eyes lit up and you nodded. As awkward as he could be, he managed to successfully get the girl of his dreams.
