Kirk POV

Today 18 years ago was the happiest day of my life. It was the day my baby girl was born, and now she's 18. I tried to be a good father but being gone all the time made it hard, but it all worked out in the end, and my baby girl joined Starfleet.

After spending part of her childhood on a starship she had fallen in love, zooming around our shared quarters like a little rocket. When she finally joined school she excelled in science and math and became and engenieer. Her name was (Y/N).

Those were some of the happiest days of my life, an now I was on my way down the halls of the ship to rec room 3 for her birthday party. (Y/N) had become one of Scotty's best engineers and so of course Scotty was crying like a baby because she was all grown up now, and I gotta say I too was tearing up a bit. She was one of the youngest crew members on board, just like Chekov she had graduated early, not that me being Captain of the Enterprise had anything to do with it.....

My beautiful wife Laura was crying over in the corner with Scotty too. This all was very hard for her, but I have to say the entire ship was crying a bit. (Y/N) had been like the crews kid, she loved everyone and everyone loved her.
The party would start at 5:00 exactly and now it was 5 till.

"Places eveyone!" Laura shouted. "The birthday girl will be here soon!"

Soon everyone was in there place and the clock hit 5:00. The doors to the rec room slid open. (Y/N) walked in wearing a long pink evening gown (*as seen above*) that flowed to her feat and fit her perfectly. Her mother and her had picked it out.

"Oh (Y/N)! You look so beautiful!" Shouted Laura running towards her.

"Thanks Mom!" She said hugging her mother and waving at everyone else.

It was time to get this party started!

(Y/N) POV

You walked into the rec room your hands sweating like crazy. You look around nervously biting your lip, and then turned your attention back to the door. It was nearly 5:00. You wiped your hands on your dress once more and the doors slid open.

You could feel the eyes on you as you entered the room.

"Oh (Y/N)! You look so beautiful!" Your mother shouted running towards you.

"Thanks mom..." you mumbled hugging her and waving at everyone else. You saw your dad over in the corner smiling but his eyes looked sad. You and your dad had always been so close, you still sit on his lap when he's in the chair.

You were his only child (A/N I know that he actually has a son David Marcus but just go with it....) and you hopped to make him proud, maybe be the captain of your own starship someday.

Jim walked over. "Hey sweetie, you look great!" He said smiling at you.

"Thanks dad." you said walking into his arms for a hug. Spock walked in and made his way towards you.

"Hello (Y/N), the happiest of birthday wishes go to you." He said Uhura hooked on his arm. "That dress is great." she said.

"Thanks." you said smiling. She nodded and look the dress up and down.

This was gonna be a long party....

Sulu POV

'I'm missing her party!' I thought to myself. Ugh if only this damn ship didn't need a Captain in the chair.

(Y/N) was like the crews child. Everyone loved her and she loved everyone. There was no doubt that everyone would be sad the day she was assigned to a different star ship.

"Captain I'm picking up a signal I don't regognize." Said one of the officers who had taken Uhura's seat.

As I was about to turn and face her another officer shouted. "Captain, were being hailed!" I looked to the front.

The face before me sent me back nearly 20 years...Kahn. But how could this be? We left him in his cryotube. (A/N I know he was actually sent to a new planet to colonize but just stay with it)

We had all aged so much since we last saw Kahn it was hard to see the he still looked the same.

"What do you want Kahn? How did you get out of your cryotube?" I asked my voice shaky.

"I have my ways." He said his voice cold. "It's good to see the Enterprise still has the same old crew for me to destroy."

"Why are you doing this Kahn? We saved your crew?" I asked

"Oh come now. Don't be such a poor sport." he said smiling cruelly at me. "I would just destroy your ship now but that'd be no fun. Plus I want the Enterprise for myself."

Before I could say something back he was gone. What was all that? Was Kahn going to board the Enterprise? I must warn Kirk.

(Y/N) POV

You were in the middle of a conversation with Chekov and Bones when Sulu burst in and ran over to your father. What was going on? You looked over to Bones and Chekov and they just shrugged. Wasn't Sulu supposed to be Captaining this shift?Why did he need your father?

You watched a Sulu delivered his message. By the time he was done your father and Spock had run out of the room, Scotty on there heals and your mother was crying in the corner. What?

"Mom! Mom! What's going on?!" You asked running over to her.

"Oh (Y/N)!" She cried "I never thought it would happen again!"

"You never though what would happen again?" You asked trying to be patient. All your mother do was cry harder. You clearly weren't getting anything out of her so you moved on.

"Bones! Chekov! What's going on?" You shouted their direction. Bones came running over. "Now darlin', you've got to listen to what I'm about to say. Have you ever heard your father or mother mention the name Kahn?" He said

"Yeah," you said looking into his eyes. "He was some dude who like attacked the ship right?" Bones nodded. "But that was years ago..." You said confused

"He somehow got out of his cryotube we don't know how, but he's here now and he wants the Enterprise." he said

You felt your insides do a flip. The man that you father feared and the man that made your mother cry just by the sound of his name, was now here to take away the only life you had ever known.

No one had gone to sleep that night every one was on red alert. All the redshirts were on constant patrol and your father had sent you to your quarters with two of them.

"You should try and get some sleep (y/N)" said one of them

"Right like I can sleep right now. Worst birthday ever." You said huffing

"Well if you don't need us then we'll get back to our post." said the other one.

"Sounds good." you said annoyed.

The two of them got up and left. You pulled out your PADD to see if there was any recent announcements. Nothing.

You gathered all your things together and made your way to the bridge to see your father. Half way to the bridge you changed your mind. If your father found out you left your quarters with out a red shirt for protection he'd kill himself.

"Damn. " You muttered and turned around to go to your quarters. Your mother was in the medbay for having a panic attack. You just didn't want to be alone.

The lights were slightly flickering in the hall way you passed in the way back to your quarters. You didn't really want to go back to your quarters and you were an engineer so why not stop and fix the light.

You turned around and entered the hallway and found the flickering light.

"Let's see what we have here." you whispered

"Yes let's see." Said a voice behind you. You turned around and starred at the voice.

"Who are you?" You asked.

"Me? I'm one of the new engineers. Um I was told there was a broken light on this deck." the voice said

"Then step out of the light ensign and report, you know we're on red alert." You responded.

A man stepped out of the darkness. He was in his 30's? It was hard to tell his cheek bones were very high. He had ice blue eyes and dark hair that was slightly tossed about. You had to say he was cute. You had always had a thing for older men.

"I have been sent on orders to fix a flickering light on deck 12 ma'am." He reported.

"Ummm ok I was just getting there myself. I have not yet found the problem. It's all yours ensign." You said

He walked over to the light and after moving a few things around the light had stopped flickering.

"Wow job well done ensign. I'm sorry but I don't believe I got your name." you said

"Oh right. Harrison, John Harrison." he said smiling

"Oh ok I'm Lt. K-"

"Kirk?" he finished for you and you nodded. "I thought so. I mean you are the Captains daughter."

"Yup I am." you said popping the 'p'

"Well I must say....it was nice to meet you." he said smiling at you but his eyes looked cold.

"And you as well ensign. You did quite some handy work there with the flickering light." you said

"You really think so?" He said tilting his head to the side.

"Yes, I really do. Scotty must be proud to have you."

"Oh not really. Nobody seams to think I'm very smart. The only people who ever thought I was smart was my family and they left."

"They left you?" You asked hurt in your voice.

"I'm sorry let me clarify. The all died." He said

You mouth formed a perfect O. "I-a-well that was put bluntly...." You said but it was barely a whisper.

"Well there is no other way to put it." he said his voice cool.

"I'm really am sorry." you said. "Who ever killed them should die for it."

He smiled. "I was thinking the same thing, but I always thought it would be better to destroy the ones they love the most. Just like they did to me."

"I don't know what I'd do if someone killed my family. I would be devastated. I-I can't even imagine a day with out my father." You sputtered out.

John turned around and faced the other hall. "You may have to..."he whispered under his breath.

"What was that?" You asked

"Oh nothing" he said turning back around to face you.

He made his way past you on his way back to his quarters probably.

"Ensign?!" You called after him.

"Yes?" He said not even turning around

"Um oh nothing...just thanks for fixing the light." you said

"Anytime..." he muttered but you barley made it out.

Before you could say another word he was gone down the dark hall. Maybe you would see him again sometime.

Ok guys so sorry that this was sooooooo long honestly I'm not done with it but I felt that it was draging. Yes there will be a part two if y'all want it.

Please comment if you think I should continue.....

If you guys don't want it now but maybe later I can write part two a few chapters later after some other fluff.

So sorry again that this one took so long.
