"Leonard McCoy! You better sit on that table right now or I swear I will hypo you!" I ordered angrily.

"I'm fine! Just a scratch!"

"Sit there or I will not allow you to leave this table." I said as I grabbed a hypo.

"Fine! But hurry up I have work." He said as he laid back on the table.

I started to check on him and I let out a sigh as I started to examine him. I finished stitching him up and I made him lay down.

"Are you finished?" He asked with a frown.

"No I am not. Now you will be staying here over night so I can watch over you." I said calmly.

"You are enjoying this Doctor (Y/n)." He said calmly.

"Why yes I am Dr. McCoy." I said with a smile.

He glared at me and I put my bag away. I left to finish checking on other patients then I returned to see Bones reading.

"Enjoying yourself Bones?" I asked with a smile.

"You know I'm not... why can't I just go to my quarters?"

"Because you need to be watched." I said calmly.

"Couldn't my wife watch me in our shared quarters?" He asked calmly.

"If she wasn't mad then yes." I said as I turned and walked away.

"And why is she mad?"

"Think about what today is... doctor." I said as I walked out of the room.

I made it to the eating room and frowned as I grabbed a plate of food.

"Hello (Y/n), happy birthday!" Chekov exclaimed happily.

"Thank you Chekov." I said softly.

He sent me a smile and I walked away. I made it to my room and let out a sigh as I stretched. I laid down on my bed and looked up at the door to see it open. I watched Bones limp into the room and I stood up.

"What are you doing?" I asked as I walked over to him.

"We need to talk." He said as I helped him keep balance.

"Sit down." I said as I forced him to sit down.

I checked his wound and glared at him.

"You could have opened your wound." I said as I moved his shirt down.

"I'm sorry.... I didn't mean to forget your birthday." He said softly.

"It's fine." I said softly.

"No it isn't..... I'm sorry.... I never wanted to forget... I've just been so stressed." He said softly.

"I know love.... I know. Now lay back down and rest." I said as I forced him to lay down.

I let out a sigh as I watched him fall asleep and then I laid beside him. I let out a sigh as I fell asleep and then when I woke up in the morning I saw Bones awake. He sent me a smile as he ran his fingers through my hair.

"I'm sorry about forgetting your birthday Jim-"

"I know he has kept you busy.... it's alright love." I said as I pecked his lips.

"I missed you.... and I have something for you in the dresser." He said pointing to it.

I smiled as I stood up and opened the top drawer. I smiled as I pulled out a necklace and held it on my hand.

"A dolphin.... like the one we saw on our first date." I said with a smile.

"Yes.... let me put it on you." He said softly.

I smiled as I walked over to him and allowed him to put the necklace on me. I turned to look at him and pulled him into a deep kiss.

"I love you." I whispered.

"I love you more darling." He whispered as he kissed me again.
