Preference: Their Reaction [Kirk, Spock and Bones]
A/N: Continuing the breakup series, this won't feature the reader directly but is basically what happens to them whilst the reader's gone/angry/left him. Also I apologize in advance for the language

A/N Pt. 2: So this is some pre-hiatus stuff that got lost in my drafts in this book. I've finished it and if you guys still want I'll do the fluffy reunion, but here's some filler bit as I clear out my drafts.
Live long and may the odds be ever in your favor

Kirk: Jim stumbled after you, tripping over his own feet and trying desperately to recapture your attention. By the time he got to the door and looked out into the street, you were long gone. Even in his intoxicated state he knew there was no way he could track you down tonight.
He leaned against the doorframe and fished his phone from his pocket. He called you, but you didn't pick up. He'd figured as much, but that didn't mean it didn't hurt. He sat down on the floor and typed out a text, trying his best not to cry.
By the time Bones found him, the party was nearly over and Jim's phone had died.
"Jim! there you are! why didn't you pick up when I called, dammit?" Bones demanded.
Jim held up his dead phone and said nothing. He'd already used up all the battery trying to contact you.
"What the hell happened to you?" Bones asked him.
"I fucked up, Bones, big time" he sniffled.
"What the hell'd you do?" Bones questioned, kneeling next to him.
"(y/n) broke up with me." he said softly, burying his face in his arms so Bones couldn't see him cry.
"What?" Bones said in disbelief "Why?"
"Because I'm a terrible person and she has every reason to never want to see me again" Jim mewled, breaking down again and sobbing openly.
Bones looked at him in pity. It hurt him to see Jim this fragile.
"C'mon kid," Bones coaxed, helping Jim to his feet, "let's get you home"

Spock: "Spock, what the hell happened between you and (y/n)? I have never seen her more pissed in my life and when I asked her why, she just spat 'my ex'. Care to explain?" Jim asked, finding Spock in one of the abandoned rec rooms.
"Captain, I would rather not disclose such personal information. Though there have been revelations in (y/n) and I's relationship, I promise it shan't impede on our ability to perform on this ship nor work together in a professional manner-"
"Bullshit" Kirk cut in "she looked like she would rip your throat out if she saw you again, so don't tell me you two are fine"
"(y/n) chose to terminate our personal relationship as of 0900 hours today" Spock admitted.
"terminate your personal relationship- Spock, english please" Kirk huffed.
"In your terran vernacular, captain (y/n) 'dumped me'" Spock snipped.
"oh...OH" realization crossed the captain's face, "Why didn't you explain the whole 'vulcan marriage' thing to her?" he asked
"She refused to listen" Spock said, then sighing "I doubt she will ever be willing to engage in conversation with myself ever again"
"I'm sorry Spock" Kirk offered, but Spock said nothing, ducking his head and walking past kirk.
"Hey where're you going?" Kirk asked,
without warning, Spock stopped dead and spun around, facing Kirk,
"Does it even matter? (y/n) hates me, and I'll most likely be dead within the week!" Spock snapped. Kirk took a step back, Spock could be dangerous when emotional (he'd learned that the hard way).
"easy, Spock, calm down" Kirk coaxed, "She doesn't hate you and nobody's dying on my ship-"
"Actually, he might" Bones rounded the corner and leaned in the doorframe, "The amount of chemical imbalances in his brain, if they keep going the way they're going, could kill him in a week"
Kirk was shocked "And nobody thought to mention that?!"
"Patient Confidentiality" Bones replied.
"What else don't I know about his condition?" Kirk demanded.
"I can't tell you" Bones said "Unless your pointy-eared friend lets me. Again, patient confidentiality"
Kirk shot a pleading look to Spock, but Spock didn't relent.
"Captain, given the highly personal nature of the information you wish me to disclose, respectfully, I decline"
"Look, Spock, I understand it's embarrassing, but I don't know how to help, if I don't know the full extent of what's wrong with you. Besides, you're a member of the bridge crew, I don't want to ask you to do something in the line of duty you're not capable of because of medical reasons" Kirk argued.
"Which is why I submitted my resignation, Captain" Spock said
"Resignation? Spock what the hell are you talking about?"
"I submitted my formal resignation as of 1900 hours"
"What? No! Spock, I'm not letting you resign!" Kirk said in shock.
"Regulation states that an officer can resign without approval from a ship's captain if they have just cause" Spock explained "Medical complications do fall under the category of 'just cause'. My apologies if such action causes you distress, but I would be remiss in my duties if I continued service.
"But, but Spock" Kirk stuttered,
"Goodbye, Captain..." Spock paused in thought, "Captain, as I am formally no longer a crewmember, may I ask a personal favor?"
"Anything, Spock" Kirk said, close to tears.
"Should (Y/N) ever inquire to the subject, would you please inform her, that, contrary to her belief, I she was the only person I have, as you humans say, 'loved'."

Bones:
"Bonesy? What happened to you?" Kirk asked the medic, who was slouched over a desk in med-bay. Lights dim and a bottle of bourbon in his grasp.
McCoy didn't respond, and the captain pulled of a chair and sat on the other side of the desk.
"Did you... did you lose a patient? Bones it's okay, you can't save everyone-"
"I didn't lose a patient, Jim, I lost (Y/N)"
"(Y/N?)?!?! I thought she was fine! ohmygod what was wrong with her?" Kirk exclaimed
"She's not dead, idiot, she broke up with me" Bones snarked, then took a large swig from the bourbon "We had a difference in opinion, and I was a total jackass..."
He slumped further on the table, head in his arms and eyes red from earlier tears and glassy from ones to come. As he sat lost in thought, his hands suddenly clenched up as if remembering a painful memory.
"I'm never going to get her back, Jim"
