Live long and may the odds be ever in your favor,

In hindsight, standing on the very swivel-prone captain's chair was not a good idea. Though your intention of hanging mistletoe over your very flirtatious captain's favorite perch was a great idea, you didn't think the chair would move so much as you stood on it.

A swivel, crash, and sprained ankle later, you were perched on a biobed in front of your favorite grumpy medic

"Dammit (y/n) what the hell were you thinking?" he snapped as he scanned your ankle

"That I love christmas decorations?" you offered.

He snorted, and finished scanning your ankle. "This isn't going to be fun" he warned as he went to work healing your ankle.
It wasn't incredibly excruciating, but you got through it with little enough wincing. When he was finished you hopped to your good foot and gingerly tested the injured one.

"Feels good to me" you said, putting your weight on it, "Thanks Bones"

you were about to stride out when he caught your wrist.

"(Y/n)" he said

"Yeah?"

"Please... try not to be so reckless? you scare me sometimes" he said softly.

You grinned "I'll be fine"

"Don't say that like that's a guarantee!" he snipped.

"Bones" you took his hands in yours, "I promise, I'll be okay, okay?"

he nodded and gave you a pitiful look. You reached into your pocket and retrieved a small bundle of the mistletoe you were trying to hang up earlier.

Balancing it on top of the doctor's fluffy brown hair, you kissed him softly, cupping his cheek with your hand.

"Merry Christmas to Dr. McCoy" snarked Chapel as she walked past.

Bones jumped "Nurse Chapel!... Back to work!"

"I could say the same to you, doctor"
