●The Young Exorcist●
"You want our personal data? What are you gonna use it for?" Hanako asked teasingly. "Pervert."
"I-it's not perverted!" Nene responded loudly back, blush covering her cheeks at the accusation. "I'm doing a compatibility horoscope!"
"Um..." Kou started, squished between the two. "Why are you squishing me?"
"Because Hanako is weirded out that Nene won't leave him alone." (Y/n) answered, watching the situation from the floor. "And Nene is frustrated at Hanako for not revealing any information."
"I'm mad at you too!" Nene responded.
"But why a compatibility horoscope? That's something for couples." The girl said, standing up. "Why don't you do one for someone like your crush, Teru?"
"Teru?" Kou asked, looking surprised.
"Minamoto-senpai wasn't so much of a crush, but more so a dream!" Nene quickly explained, embarrassed that Kou had to overhear. "It's like having a celebrity crush! You're just happy watching them even if there's no possibility of being with them."
"He's the student council president, and he's handsome, and nice, and so smart..." Nene started mumbling, looking up at the sky with clouded eyes. "What a charming prince..."
"Why thank you." Nene then suddenly turned, meeting face to face with the male she was talking about. She jumped back, her eyes widened in shock. "Sorry, didn't mean to frighten you."
"Minamoto-senpai?!"
"Nii-chan!" Kou exclaimed, rushing to the taller male.
"'Nii-chan?!'"
"I've been looking for you, Kou." Teru said, lightly hitting his younger brother with his clipboard. "You had me worried."
"What's going on?!" Nene muttered to herself. (Y/n) and Hanako raised a brow at her, already have connected the dots long ago.
"You're Yashiro-san right?" Teru asked, now addressing the short girl. "I don't believe we've met, (L/n) talks about you a lot."
"Thank you for being kind to my brother."
The human girl blushed, looking at the boy dreamily. "O-of course..."
"Oh yeah." Teru glanced at the shortest girl, eyes narrowing as she stood next to Hanako. "We have a meeting tomorrow, be sure to show up this time."
"No promises chief." She responded, trying to put up a silly facade. She could feel his eyes pierce her soul, feeling the massive amount of anger behind them. She could hear Hanako wince as the taller male's sharp gaze land on him.
"Kou, follow me." He said, finally breaking eye contact with the two spirits. "We need to talk."
Nene continued to look where the Minamotos were before it clicked in her head. "They have the same surname!"
"Took you long enough." The two spirits sighed.

"I thought we talked about this, Kou." Teru said, the two in an empty hallway by the stairs leading to the roof. "If you ever encounter any of the eight mysteries, you are to expel them immediately..."
Kou looked down, thoughts swirling on how to respond. "Er..."
"We discussed about the change that's taken place in the school's supernaturals, remember?" Teru said, his eyes narrow as he stared down his younger brother. "We've only tolerated them this long because they haven't done any lethal damage to the students."
"But that's not the case anymore." Teru explained. "The eight mysteries are the most powerful supernaturals in the school. They present the most danger."
"We have to nip that danger in the bud."
"But...y'know." Kou started, still looking down. "Lately I just...can't see those two as bad supernaturals. Especially (Y/n)-senpai..."
"I mean. Hanako does piss me off sometimes...and I can't forgive him for hanging out in the girls' bathroom." Kou explained. "But he's helped me and everybody else too. (Y/n)-senpai too, she hasn't done anything bad, she's only a victim..."
Teru sighed, frustration clear on his features. He knew what the younger was saying about the female spirit. It was the reason why the male himself felt conflicted whenever given the opportunity to exorcise the girl.
His grandmother had told him the story of the girl spirit, making the conclusion that the one who murdered her was Hanako. He first agreed with that statement, until he saw her with him.
His blood boiled in anger at how friendly and familiar she was with her supposed murderer. He knew then that the conclusion was wrong. He didn't know why he was so angry at the sight still, seeing her smile and laugh with the other spirit.
He shook his head from thinking of the girl, replacing her image with many of the supernaturals he's exorcised. "Kou...supernaturals will always be a danger to the living."
"There is no such thing as a 'good supernatural'."
"B-but..." The younger stuttered.
"I thought I'd let you take care of them, in hopes that it might help you mature as an exorcist." Teru sighed, running his hand through his hair in frustration. "Looks like my plan backfired..."
He turned away from the younger, taking a step to walk away. "I'm taking you off the eight mysteries case."
Kou's eyes widened in shock, turning to his elder brother walking away. He manage to catch up and grab the other's shoulders. "W-wait! Teru-nii!"
Teru look back, meeting the younger's desperate eyes. He couldn't stay mad at his precious little brother. He sighed, slightly smiling as he ruffled Kou's hair. "Okay, I'll give you a little more time."
"But you know what you have to do."
"Yes, sir..." Kou replied, looking away in contemplation.

"Amane? What are you doing?" (Y/n) asked as she saw the male prepare a large bag. The two were alone in the bathroom, curfew already passed hours ago.
"Oh nothing, just gonna look for the goods the mokke have stolen." He explained.
"Really? They're still doing it?"
"Yep."
"...I'll help tomorrow, I needed a good excuse to skip that meeting..." She said, muttering to herself. "He looked more pissed than usual...I think the stress is finally getting to him."
"Who?"
"Nothing, don't worry about it. Just know I'll be helping."
"Oki!!"

"Hanako...why are you making yourself look like a cat burglar?" The girl asked, floating beside the male as they looked around the school. She was in her true so that no one could see her looking in the classrooms or courtyards. "If someone could see us you'd look so suspicious..."
"How else do you expect me to carry the stuff?"
"I don't know, you have black hole pockets." She responded. She rolled her eyes as he pretended to sneak around, playing up the burglar angle.
"I can't fit everything in them."
"Certainly not your massive ego."
"Yeah, I know I have a big-"
"Don't even go there." She glared at him. He only smirked back in response. (Y/n) then realized there was another pair of eyes on her, she looked around to find the culprit but couldn't. It wasn't until she saw a small tuff of blonde hair in the bushes beside her that she realized Kou was following them.
"Kou? What are you doing?"
"Ah!" He jumped back, face to face with the female spirit. "Uh well..."
He explained he skipped class to follow the two. After the conversation with Teru, he was determined to get proof that the two were good spirits. He know what he said to his elder brother, but his heart wasn't in it. Plus he'd hate to make Nene sad by telling her her friends were exorcised.
And then, he doesn't think he could exorcise (Y/n) after what she's told him. She wasn't bad, she was only a victim that had to live on as a spirit for eternity. She didn't deserve the fate she was dealt with, nor does she deserve to be punished for something she couldn't control.
"Still...you shouldn't be skipping class Kou, you do realize that'll make Teru worry right?" The girl asked. "Plus I'm here to make sure that he doesn't do anything bad."
"Hey!" Hanako exclaimed, dramatically placing a hand on his chest. "How dare you accuse me of doing anything horrible!"
"Just gimme that!" Kou yelled, grabbing the bag from the shorter male. He opened it to reveal many missing items that students hadn't found yet. He looked at the two spirits. "Stolen goods?"
"It's not what you think." The two said.
"It's the Mokke." Hanako explained. "Yashiro did change their rumor but..."
"It's hard to get'em to shake their thieving ways." (Y/n) sighed, pinching the cheeks of one of the small pink creatures.
"So every once in a while I collect everything that seems valuable and return it to their proper owners." Hanako said, holding up a math textbook.
"I don't usually help since I attend classes, but I decided to help today." (Y/n) explained, the Mokke now on her head.
"They like to hide their trophies all over the place. So we're looking in every nook and cranny." He said.
"Sorry..."
"But it's fun!"
"Such pleasure..."
"Can't stop, won't stop."
"Geez you guys..." Kou said, looking at the small creatures.
"Give them some slack, it's in their nature." (Y/n) said, lightly hitting her elbow against the male.
"Hey Kid, think you can give me a hand?" Hanako asked. He pointed upwards towards one of the many structures of the school. "Up there."
"Is something stuck up there?" Kou asked, shielding his eyes from the sunlight to see the object.
"Looks like it." (Y/n) said, doing the same. "How in the heck did you guys get it up there?"
"It took lots of work!"
"But we're too scared to get it back down..."
"It's hard to reach for either of us too, what with my short arms." (Y/n) mumbled, extending her arms.
"Well...okay"

"You're heavy!!" Kou shouted as he tried to keep Hanako from falling. "You're a ghost, how are you this heavy?!"
"Rude!" Hanako replied.
"And why aren't you helping?!" Kou yelled at the floating female.
"You think I can hold either of you up? Hell no!" She exclaimed back.
"But you're probably less heavy than this guy!"
"And let you look up my skirt?!"
"Wha?!"
"Just a little lower." Hanako said, interrupting the two's beginning argument.
"Why can't you two float?!"
"We can't float this high!" (Y/n) yelled back, now floating over the boy.
"Almost there, just a little more." Hanako said, reaching all his might for the object. Kou has resorted to putting a foot on the wall so the both of them wouldn't fall as he tries to lower the spirit even more. "Sorry about this Kid."
"It just seemed important to somebody."
Kou looked down at the male spirit, his thoughts swirling over his predicament. He thought that there had to be good spirits, Teru just didn't know them. He wasn't paying attention to what he was doing, until he felt the spirit slip from his grasp. He looked, seeing the boy fall down. He jumped on the sill, reaching out to the spirit. "Grab on!"
"Hanako!" (Y/n) exclaimed in surprise, rushing down the stairs with Kou behind her. As they reached the ground floor, Kou rushed to the male ghost. He shook him until the ghost opened his eyes.
"Whoa! That was crazy!" He exclaimed. "I thought I was gonna die!"
The three fell into silence until the fenale spoke. "Dude...we're both dead."
"...oh yeah!" The three chuckled, making light of the brief moment of terror. "Oh right!"
Hanako then reached into his pockets, pulling out an item the other two recognized. "Here you go!"
"What?! When did you get that?!" Kou asked, immediately reaching to his ears to find his charm was indeed missing.
"Must've been that Mokke on you head."
"That little-"
"At least you got it back!" Kou looked at the two, seeing them smiling. He thought about the words Hanako said, claiming the item looked important to someone. He made up his mind.
"There is such a thing."
"Huh?"
"There such a thing as a good supernatural!" The boy said, smiling. "I made up my mind, I'm not going to exorcise you after all, Hanako!"
The two ghosts' eyes widened in shock.
"Why not? You said it yourself, I'm the evil spirit of a murderer..."
"Well...I was just running my mouth, I didn't know any better. Sorry." Kou replied, rubbing the back of his neck sheepishly. "I'm sure you had your reasons, right?"
"Reasons..." Hanako muttered under his breath, causing (Y/n) to look at him in worry.
"And so from now on, I'm gonna help yo-"
"Say Kid..." Hanako started. (Y/n) immediately knew something was wrong, she knows that face. "Exactly what kind of reason...would justify killing another person?"
Suddenly Hanako pushed Kou to the ground.
"Hey what are you-" Kous stopped, freezing as the knife neared his neck.
"What if...I...killed you right now?"
"Hanako!" (Y/n) screamed, rushing to stop him. But before she could touch him, Haku-joudai pushed her back at full force. She hit the ground hard, scrapping her arm.
"Let's say I had a very special reason for it, would that make it right?"
"Hanako!"
"Hanako?..." Kou looked at him in confusion, wondering why the ghost before him looked lifeless. His eyes swirling in so many emotions he couldn't decipher.
"That's enough." A bolt of lightning struck Hanako suddenly, knocking him off the middle schooler.
"Hanako!" Kou got up to check on the boy ghost, seeing him wheezing in pain. (Y/n) had rushed quickly, grabbing his hand in comfort.
"You idiot..." She muttered. "You still feel guilty over that?"
"It's not like you to skip class. I wondered...what might've caused it." Kou and (Y/n) turned to see the person who struck, one in fear and the other a mix of fear and rage. "Well?"
"Teru-nii..."
"I was right wasn't I?"
