✯29~ Come with me?✯ ✅
The thing about memories is that we often choose to remember all the good or all the bad about a person. We never seem to let ourselves remember both.
When you think about a person you once though you knew, look at both the good and the bad so you remember that they are human and so you can see that no one is completely good but no one is completely bad either.
~Yours truly~

Shimmer ran her hand lightly over my icy slick fur, gently whispering soothing things as I mourned for the death of my trainer. I never really knew what had happened to Alice until this moment. The last I had seen of her was when I made my promise to protect her sister, no matter what, and so far, I'd broken that promise, more than once.
Another tear slipped from my obsidian coloured eyes as I broke down sobbing again. Surprisingly, I felt no shame for the tears when I normally try my best to be the toughest I can be.
"Shiver are you alright?" Shimmer's soft voice asked, as her hand hesitated atop my head.
I looked up into her eyes. She wasn't crying like I was, although she was quite teary in her eyes. She didn't remember her sister like I do so no doubt it was hard for her to mourn the way I did. She had managed to force a small smile, deep in her eyes I could read every emotion that they held. The love and the kindness, the fear and the pain, the longing for something I couldn't quite know. The same emotions I saw in Alice's eyes the last time I saw her without knowing it would be my last time seeing her.
More tears gathered in my eyes and I buried my head in Shimmer's shoulder, sobbing like a scared baby Pokémon. Shimmer stroked my back. "It's alright, let it out. It's alright to cry." She soothed.
I knew both Alice and Astrid before the incident with Tyson. Alice snuck out to visit her little sister who'd stayed behind often. Alice had loved her little sister more than anything in the world, but she knew from old stories what she was meant for so she left knowing her over protective parents would never allow her to be a trainer but wanted to do what she was meant for. Whenever she went to visit her sister they would both sit on a hill and talk for hours but now I guess that wouldn't happen anymore...
I squeezed my eyes shut, the memory of when I first met my trainer entered subconsciously into my mind, as fresh as the day it happened.
I let out a hiss, shrinking back as far as my trapped paw would allow when the white haired human girl advanced a little closer.
"Hey, it's alright, I'd be scared to if I had my paw stuck under a rock... well erm, my hand- I don't have paws... but I just want to help you. Okay? Please let me help." She said softly, holding out her hands showing that they were empty.
I let out another hiss and shot and Ice Beam at the ground in front of her, not doing her any damage but warning her I would. ~Stay back!~ A threatening growl erupting from my throat.
"I just want to help you. There are wild Beartic around here and they can get scary when hungry. My friend wants to catch one though, she loves Ice-Type Pokémon. She's so strong but not quite strong enough to catch a Beartic yet... Maybe she'll catch a Cubchoo instead... They are much cuter then Beartic." She came in a little closer and held out a berry. "Her Pokémon love this type of berry. It's called a Corn berry, they're a little sour but her Pokémon can't get enough."
I hesitantly accepted the strange berry. Shivering slightly against the cold surroundings of Frost Cavern. The berry was ripe and tasted sour, like the girl had said, but I still found it pleasant. I was too busy enjoying the berry to notice the girl had come closer.
When I did notice her, I hissed but she just ignored it and looked at the rock. "I'm not very strong so when I lift the rock you have to move your paw straight away, alright?"
Before I had a chance to react the pressure was lifted from my trapped paw and I quickly pulled it away just as the rock fell back down and the girl fell backwards with an 'oof' as she landed on her behind.
I quickly jumped up to flee but my leg buckled from under me when pain shot through my injured paw. I let out a small cry, but the human-girl caught me. In reaction I bit down on the girl's arm, hard.
She flinched but didn't let go, a small whine coming from the back of her throat. "It's alright, I just want to help." A small amount of pain weaved into her voice. "I won't let go until you're okay, so you might as well let me help you."
I released her arm and looked up at her in confusion. I had hurt her, tried to attack her but still she refuses to give up on helping me.
Cautiously, I allow her to sit me on her lap as she dug around a small pouch that hung off her silver belt. She pulled out a small pot and square piece of fabric. Twisting the lid carefully, she opened the pot and a citrusy smell wafted through the air from the yellow-orangey cream inside.
"My friend made this. She's really smart with medicine and stuff. She's really strong as well, like my other friends. Right now she's with two of my other friends Tyson and Nick. Tyson is really strong too – the strongest out of all of us - and Nick is funny, but he can get scary when he's angry or upset. All my friends are very strong. I just met them not long ago but they're really nice and make me feel happy, I want to be strong like them one day, but I only have Wish, my Spewpa, right now but she'll evolve soon, hopefully. She'll become a beautiful Vivillion. My friends tell me that I'm meant to train Psychic-Type Pokémon but it's up to me. I'm not really sure yet, everyone else trains one type but I like being different--" She continued to chat about her different friends and Pokémon. How she and two of her friends had come to Frost Cavern to look for some people who were being mean to Pokémon and wanted the Abomasnow that lived deep in the cavern but she'd gotton herself lost on the many ice patches in the caves and was trying to find her friends but found me instead.
"There you go." She said happily, setting me lightly on the ground. "Just take it easy for a while, alright?"
I had become so fixated on what she was saying I didn't even realise she finished. Testing pressure on my injured paw, I shifted around my weight a little and felt barely any pain from the paw that had been trapped.
I looked up at her and nodded while she stood up, looking around while very clearly lost. "Well I have to go now, to find my friends... wherever they are..." She said the last part quieter with a small sigh afterwards.
With only slight hesitation before I lightly pulled on the edge of her white dress, nodding her towards Abomasnow's part of the cavern.
"That way?" She asked, looking towards where I'd pointed her.
Again, I nodded, and she smiled with relief. I'm not going to lie, I found this girl quite cute for human. Normally those who came through her were much more aggressive. The human-girl bent down to pat me. "Thank yo-" She started but looked behind me in fear, her body becoming rigid suddenly.
A shallow growl echoed through the cavern, I quickly looked to find the source, finding a Beartic growling at the human girl from one of the many entrances to this part of the cavern. She let a yelp and stumbled backwards, scooting back as it stalked closer to her with his eyes fixated on the girl bleeding arm licking his lips and showed off his sharp pointed teeth as the red liquid dripped into the snow.
The white-haired human dug though her before fearfully tossing out a Pokéball. A little white and black puffball popped out, looking at the Beartic in fear. It stood there trembling for a brief moment before it let out a small squeal and ran to her trainers' arms.
Our hero, I thought, rolling my eyes.
The Beartic was almost upon the two, not paying any attention to me as he saw the human and her terrified Pokémon as the weaker targets due to their fear. His gaze was fixed on his lust for the girls' blood. He charged in without warning, not taking his eyes off the child.
I let out a growl and without thinking I charged into his shoulder, throwing off his path so the scared girl who had helped me was well out of his way. He was only attacking her because he could smell the blood from the bite I gave her, it's only right I try to help her for helping.
Skidding to a stop, he turned around, finding me as his new enemy. He growled at me and charged in in a fast, lopping pace. ~Big mistake Glaceon.~ He snarled.
I crouched low and hissed, eyeing the girl who was frozen in fear, back pressed against the wall. She was trembling, crying slightly from fear. I pitied her for it, she was so kind hearted but not too strong.
Just when the Beartic would be in swiping range a Flamethrower attack engulfed the Ice Bear Pokémon.
Quickly, I turned to see two humans, a little older looking that the one who had helped me. I kept myself firmly between them and the girl. I was determined now not to let anyone hurt the child.
~See Shadow, Houndour's are better than Umbreon's any day.~ A puppy Pokémon snickered to the Pokémon next to her, an Umbreon – a species of Pokémon similar to myself as we shared the same basic form, an Eevee.
The Umbreon rolled his eyes. ~So you have a type advantage over ice type's, you also have a weakness to water type's than I don't have Inferno.~
"Inferno, Flamethrower again." A black-haired boy, presumably their trainer, ordered. I braced for the attack but the two seemed more intent on arguing then fighting.
~But I'm stronger against more Pokémon than you.~ The puppy argued, Inferno I'd presume.
~But weaker against more as well.~ The Umbreon stated. ~Pipsqueak.~
With a snort the other Pokémon argued back. ~Yeah, well wait until I evolve.~ The Houndour growled.
The Umbreon shrugged. ~Are you going to obey Thomas or--~ he cut himself off when he saw me, he stared at me with interest, while I just glared at him, keeping myself rooted in front of the small girl.
A growl echoed through the cave and we turned to see that Beartic was getting back up. The other human-girl had noticed also "My god Thomas, can't you control your Pokémon? Niro use Ice Beam." The boys companion, a girl with light-blue hair said with annoyance.
A Sneasel jumped from her shoulder. ~Eye-eye Alyssa-!~ It chirped, charging up the dark type attack before shooting it at Beartic.
The girl pulled a black and yellow Pokéball from her pocket. "Come on Ultra Ball, don't fail me now." She through the ball at the fallen Beartic and held her breath as it shook back and forth three times before clicking with a small flash of light. She sighed in relief and went to fetch the ball while the boy went to the white-haired girls side. I let out a warning growl but the girl I was defending didn't seem upset by his approach.
"My Arceus Alice, you had us both worried sick. Don't go wandering off again." He frowned checking her over for injuries. He noticed the bite mark I had made and frowned. "Is the from the Beartic?" He frowned, inspecting it carefully.
"No silly, it's too small for a Beartic." The girl giggled. "The Glaceon I was trying to help got scared and bit me but I'm fine and so is she now."
The boy frowned and pulled a roll of fabric from his pocket and started wrapping it around the bite, mumbling things under his breath.
I slowly inched closer to the two humans and two dark type Pokémon curiously as the blue haired human joined them her purple eyes shining in happiness. "The Beartic is coming with me." She said proudly.
"Yes, let's take the Beartic that tried to kill us five seconds ago with us. That won't turn out badly at all." The boy said sarcastically.
The girl glared. "It's coming with me whether you like it or not. It was his basic instincts, he could smell Shimmer's blood."
The boy looked over at me after rolling his eyes. "Is this the Glaceon?"
The younger girl nodded. "Yeah, her paw was trapped under a rock, but I managed to free it... You can go now Glaceon." She smiled at me while snuggling closer to her friend for warmth.
I slowly shook my head and took another hesitant step closer, intrigued by this human and the differences she had from most I've seen.
~I think the Glaceon wants to come with us Alice.~ The Spewpa chirped from we trainers arms, snuggling in her arms.
With a snicker another replied. ~But Alice is meant to be a Psychic-Type trainer, she would be better going with Alyssa.~ The Sneasel, Niro, said snidely while playing with its red feather.
~I recon it's up to Alice and Glaceon, a Pokémon should get to choose who his or her trainer is.~ Shadow the Umbreon shrugged. ~Let the pretty Pokémon choose for herself... wait what?~ He shook his head sharply as a blush formed over his cheeks.
"Do you want to come with me Glaceon?" The white-haired girl I'd presume was named Alice asked, cocking her head to the side as she held her hand out for me to sniff.
I nodded slowly as I took in her sent, it was warm and unique. Clearly, she want from here. She opened her arms for me, with a bright, warm smile. "Well you're welcome to."
I snuggled into her arms as she stood up with help from her friends. I shivered slightly, only having recently evolved I wasn't completely immune against the cold yet.
"Did the Glaceon just shiver?" The bluette asked with a giggle.
My human shrugged. "I dunno..." She shivered herself. "We're in a cave full of ice and snow, I'm cold."
~A cold ice type?~ Niro chuckled from her trainers shoulder. ~Never heard of that before.~
"Maybe you should call her Shiver, it's a cute name." The blue-haired trainer... Alyssa... suggested.
Again, my human smiled. "What do you think Glaceon, do you like the name Shiver?" Alice asked, looking down at me.
I thought about it, furring my brow I thought before I looked back up at and smiled.I hadn't had a name before and Shiver seemed unique for an Ice-Type. ~Sure.~ I smiled even though I'm sure all they could hear was 'Glace'.
Alice just smiled and stroked my slick blue fur.
~Shadow's staring at you.~ Wish giggled from atop my trainers head.
I looked down at the boy human's Umbreon just in time to catch him looking away. Inferno, the Houndour, snickered teasingly. ~Shadow has a cru-ush.~
~No I do not. I barely know anything about the Pokémon.~ He denied, blushing like mad. The Umbreon's fur bristled slightly weather it was from the cold or embarrassment, I do not know.
I rolled my eyes and snuggled in my soon to be new trainers' arms, thinking about what battles and challenges we may have to face.
Ever since that day I'd always done my best to fight for Alice. I was always by her side and my loyalty belonged to her, now to her sister. I failed Alice, I've twice failed her sister and I would not fail them again.
A buzz echoed through the silent room and all eyes turned to Alyssa who was looking down at her phone with a frown. "Huston, we have a problem."
Shimmer looked around in confusion. "Who's Huston?"
Nick face palmed with a dull chuckle. "It's an expression from some old movie or something. What's the problem Alyssa?"
"I just got a text from Tyson." Alyssa but in.
Shimmer cringed, holding me tighter. "Wh-what does he...?" She choked out, burying her head in my fur. She was shaking, I could feel it against my fur. Tyson terrified her completely from how much pain he'd caused her, he killed her sister and I would not let the same fate befall her.
"Hey it's alright. Tyson won't hurt you, I won't let him." Thomas said soothingly, wrapping his arms around Shimmer who was still holding me close to her chest.
~Neither will I.~ I said quietly, rubbing my head against her cheek.
Shimmer looked up, fear showing clearly in her eyes as she nodded slightly. She let go of me with one arm to hug Thomas.
Amy looked up at Alyssa, anger and determination flaring in her eyes. "So, what does he want?"
"Guess we're about to find out." Alyssa replied glumly as she fiddled with the buttons on her electronic device.
