Backstory:
The story begins over a century ago on a distant planet in the penultimate hours of a deadly war. The Time War, that threatened the universe as the inhabitants of the planet Gallifrey did century long battle with the emotionless race of the Daleks who's only goal was the destruction of anything that was not like them. That were not operated by hatred of diversity.

Amongst the smoke and debris of scattered refugee corpses, scavengers arrived to seek out treasures amongst the dead. Bodies in particular. The inhabitants of Gallifrey were sort after for their healing and regenerating biological advantages. What the scavengers did not expect was a survivor amongst the carnage and limbs. The tiniest toddler, soulful brown eyes just too trusting.

Scientists, terrorists, war mongers all battled for this prize. Eventually the child ended up with a shady division of Kree who held interest for the implications of enhanced healing.

Healing also came with prolonged youth. Once into adulthood the girl's body clock slowed to a barely etching aging process. Giving them the best part of sixty years to meddle with the regenerating golden energy that would be expelled when she was hurt or sick.

When they felt they'd hit a roadblock with simply studying her, the idea came to see how she could be made better.

Genetic splicing was traumatic and painful from what she remembered. Needles in her bones, blurry vision and numbness, and being made to sleep in a tank of water. To which she would always wake up different.

Their end result - fair telekinetic strength characterised by a bleed of fushia into the irises when in use. Followed by headaches at the start but through use practice and skill eased apprehensions, like she'd always been able to have anything not bolted down in a room defy gravity or oddly tamper with the electronics of machinery. Healing was sacrificed in the process, genetic meddling having gone a step too far for it to be reliable.

Empowered, pained and raised in isolation, the girl had no social skills or sense you would acquire in normal upbringing. She was eternally childlike with enough telekinetic force to derail an industrial spaceship.

So of course eventually, this century old child decided she was bored of being poked, sunk and locked in cold rooms.

The guards weren't expecting for her to attempt escaping and so weren't prepared to stop her. Luckily she'd stopped throwing them about by the time she'd reached the airlocks. The emergency escape pods looked like they'd be a fun ride. Not being able to control it, a brief period of cryosleep and the Earth's gravity pulling her in for a crash landing wasn't so joyous.

But once there, percuring a blindingly white outfit much fancier than anything her blue skinned captors ever provided.

The vibrance of Planet Earth was more than the young minded woman could ever have envisioned. Freedom, colour, endless people. How lucky was she to have crashed just outside New York City?

Amongst the perfection of the new world, the alien became dazzled by the concept of superheroes. The idea of these incandescent beings in fancy costumes using their abilities to fight the bad guys, and then becoming adored by the public? With her own powers, surely that had to be her destiny, right?!

Without training, much common sense, and showing up to emergencies with enough telekinetic force to decimate the Pentagon if she so wished, or knew how to deploy correctly, the Wannabe hero quickly attracted the attention of SHIELD.

Nick Fury quickly learned that the woman - self dubbing herself "Cheryl" after hearing said singer on the radio - would be problematic if left to her own devices. She needed guidance, mentorship and restraint. Being in a helicopter less than 20 minutes with her was all he needed to decide that responsibility was not for him.

And that is how the Avengers had their newest member dumped in their living room with the task of caring for her.

When it came to her care, Steve Rogers may have been the preferred choice for a mature and stable guardian. But as destiny would have it, Cheryl simply liked Tony Stark better. Eventually leading to him taking legal custody of her, to protect her rights as an alien against the government.

▪︎"Iron Pearl" - the name Cheryl gave to Tony's stunning white and baby pink armour she was gifted at Christmas 2013 after the events of Iron Man 3. Prompted by her desire while spending her first ever holidays with him and Pepper in Malibu, Cheryl while bored and curious helped herself to one of the suits and after Tony kicked off at her a little too harshly over it, he let her test run his Mark 39 "Starboost" armour. Now coded to said suit, Cheryl donned it a second time to aid Tony in defeating Aldritch Killian along with the other suits before it's eventual destruction.

▪︎Cheryl has a love of fish. Someone on the team gifted her a fancy goldfish once in the hope of teaching her responsibility. That first fish, affectionately named Richard, sparked an obsession and lead her to have an impressive aquarium wherever she currently lives.

▪︎Butler came into her life as recompense for her post Civil War loneliness. When the golden retriever puppy enthusiastically ran up to her offering her a stick she knew she'd found a friend who wouldn't leave her. At first calling him Tony Jr seemed amazing, but after it quickly got confusing with human Tony, the dog was named Butler because of his love of carrying things for his owner.

▪︎Cheryl drives a white VW Convertible Beetle. After all the Iron Pearl armour couldn't carry her shopping bags and Happy isn't always avaliable to drive her, and Butler gets to sit in the passenger seat.

▪︎The species from which Cheryl originates survive via a Binary Vascular System - meaning two hearts, one each side of her chest. Supporting her endless happy and kind demeanour.

▪︎Cheryl's metabolism, energy levels, and general dislike of rest lead her to only sleep 2/3 nights in a week, meaning she has a lot of free time in the night when everyone else is asleep.

▪︎Cheryl adopted Peter Parker as her little brother from the day she met him in Civil War for the airport battle. During the events of Homecoming she pursued him regularly, showing up at his school and stealing Happy's phone trying to get in touch with him. Peter spent as much time trying to dodge her love as he did fighting the Vulture.

▪︎For a while Cheryl wholly believed the Iron Legion droids were sentient and she regularly tried to converse with them, since JARVIS responding through them didn't help. She'd even go as far as to hover in the background when they came back 'injured' and insist they were fixed right away, fearing they were in pain or upset.

▪︎Cheryl had JARVIS give her the birthdays of everyone she knows in SHEILD including staff and the Avengers. Hence why upon his date of birth that nobody is meant to know, Nick Fury found a wrapped box on his desk containing a new eyepatch- this one featuring embroidered daffodils.

▪︎Over in Mexico, Twilight is the most beloved Avenger. Mainly because those who don't know she's an alien believe her to be Mexican from rumor and her ethnic appearance. The country were delighted to have "one of them" so celebrated and heroic. Her first trip to the country was met with a parade of people in costumes of her, and a grand fiesta to honour her.

▪︎Thanks to Mexico, and her Time Lord brain sucking up the lingo like a sponge, Cheryl now speaks fluent Spanish.

▪︎Wanda's mind games from Age of Ultron sparked Cheryl to be tormented in her nightmares by a one eyed creature that would stare from the dark. The others assured her it was just nightmares, but Tony and Thor were never so sure, especially when she named it so surely. Her "Dalek" became her personal Demon, and to Tony's horror from discovey, it was far more real than they'd thought...

▪︎In another universe in a What If?... scenario, Cheryl Stark learns Tony's intentions and wishing to save his life, snatches the Infinity Stones and snaps herself, later dying in Tony's arms. In yet another universe a similar change takes place, though while Cheryl's body survives her mind and personality are lost - she becoming known as the "Black Pearl" afterwards.
