Thump. Thump. Thump.

Zara's two hearts pounded in her ears as she flew through the air. She raced through the halls of the palace she grew up in. Memories of her parents spun in her mind. Their horrible screams rang in her ears. Zara turned a corner and bolted the door shut. Immediately, fists pounded at the door.

"Princess Zara! Open this door!" A voice yelled.

"No!" Zara quickly entered a small chamber with dozens of blinking buttons.

The pounding continued as Zara programmed a location.

"Give yourself up! Face your consequences!"

"Never!" Zara jumped as the door suddenly busted open.

She quickly slammed her hand onto a red button and the escape pod doors slid closed, seconds before the palace guards started shooting. Zara suddenly was shot into space, moving at light speed. Memories and voices continued to echo in the girl's mind. Zara's eyes began to sting as salty tears threatened to spill. Zara blinked them away and looked over her shoulder. There was no sign of anyone following her. The planet Zygloe soon became smaller and smaller as Zara flew further away from the place she once called home.
