Chapter 8
Nadia's pov
I drove to Rawling's cemetery on my Bliss. I see the Impala parked, parking my Bliss right next to Baby.
I don't see Dean or Sam. I went to find them. I stopped at a tomb, went near it and looked inside.
"Dean, Sam, you guys here? I asked. They didn't answer.
"You better not be here, Cryptkeeper," I said. "Excuse me, Miss. Can I help you?" the gardener asked.
"Hi, I'm Mrs. Byrnes. Did you happen to see two men here today?" I asked. "Are you with the Historical Preservation Society?" he asked.
"Yes, I am. Where are they?" I asked.
"I took them to the Rawlings house," he said.
"Where is it?" I asked. The gardener leads me to the house.
I looked at the house. "Here you go and be careful," he whispers.
"Thank you," I said, walking towards the house. I walked up the door, knocking on it and heard the door opening.
"How may I help you?" a guy in a sweater vest. "Hi, I'm Mrs. Byrnes, my husband was here with Mr. Harrison," I said.
"Are you from the Historical Preservation Society as well?" he asked, excitedly. "I am. Are you the owner?" I asked.
"No. I'm Mr. Rawling's nurse, Neil," he said. "Oh okay. Does Mr. Rawlings have family living here?" I asked.
"His daughter's Sasha's here. Come in. I'll show you Mr. Rawlings then I'll get Sasha for you," he said. I nodded, walking inside.
"What's your name, ma'am?" Neil asked. "Nadia Byrnes," I said. Neil leads the way.
"Here's Mr. Rawlings," he said. I look over, seeing him in a coma with blood bags.
I held my breath as I saw blood bags.
"Is this blood fusing?" I asked.
"Yes. He had an accident that got in a..," Neil paused. I hear a woman screaming.
I quickly rushed up the stairs, taking my gun out. I see a woman on the floor covering her head.
I got down to check on her. "Miss Rawlings, you okay?" I asked.
She looked up at me. "I saw something," she said, shaky. I walked over to the closet.
I checked the closet, turning the light on. I held my gun out. I did not see anything.
I helped Sasha up. "What did you see?" I asked. "You're gonna think I'm crazy but I saw a vampire," she said.
I hear footsteps. "Sasha, you okay?" Neil asked. She shook her head.
"Let's get her downstairs," I said. Neil nodded.
---
We headed down stairs with Sasha. She sat down on the couch, she continued to shake.
I hear the door opening. I look over to see Sam and Mary.
"Nadia, what are you doing here?" Sam asked. "I got a call from Dani about Colt not answering his phone. So I went outside Northern Omaha to find him. His location led me to an abandoned warehouse. A djinn set a trap for me. Colt and I escaped and burned the warehouse down," I said.
"Dean told me that you were going back to the Bunker," Sam said. "I can't stand being in the Bunker with all those people's thoughts bothering me," I lied.
"Well, I'm glad you came," Mary said. I nodded.
I looked behind Sam but I didn't see Dean following her. "Where's Dean?" I asked.
"He's with Bobby. They'll be back," Sam said. "I'm gonna go outside and wait for them," I said, putting my jacket back on.
"Okay, be careful out there," Sam said. I leave the den, heading outside to wait for Dean.
I stood outside, waiting for Dean and Bobby. "Nadia?" Dean asked.
I turned my head, seeing him. "There you are," I said.
"What are you doing here? I thought you were going back to the Bunker?" Dean asked. "No, I couldn't go back. I had a dream vision after I got off the phone with you," I said.
"What do you mean?" Dean whispers. "I saw this house with a djinn in the vision. I saw blood bags on Mr. Rawlings while he's in a coma. Colt was the same way when I saved him," I whispered.
"Good thing you came," Dean said, hugging me. I held him. "Me too," I said, smiling.
"Is Colt okay?" he asked. "He's better now. Back in Lebanon with Dani," I said.
"That's good. I'm glad you two are okay," Dean said, opening the door.
Dean and I walked inside the house to the entry.
"You aren't gonna believe what I found in the shed," Dean said. "What did you find?" I asked as we walked inside.
Sam and Mary were talking to Sasha. She knows that we hunt monsters.
"You hunt monsters?" Sasha asked."Oh, good you told them," Dean said.
"What did you find in the shed?" Mary asked. "Dead guy," Dean said.
"Any chance it was him?" Sam asked, showing a burnt ID. Dean looked at it and nodded.
Dean looked at the ID. "Yeah, that's him," Dean said.
"Great. So we think someone's killing these Hunters," Sam said. Dean looked at Sam all confused.
"Where's Bobby?" Mary asked. "Said he had to grab something out of the truck," Dean said.
"I'll go check," Mary said, heading out the door. Sasha stands up.
"Wait, time out. There's a dead body on our property?" Sasha asked.
"Yeah, that's not all. Wormy clones of her dad tried to kill me," Dean said.
My eyes opened wide, gasping. "And it was the same thing that attacked Maggie in the video," Dean said.
"Who's Maggie?" Neil asked. We didn't answer him.
"But my dad is right there," Sasha said. I looked at Mr. Rawlings' body, walking to the room.
I checked the blood bags. They look full and none going into Mr. Rawlings' vein.
I looked again realizing that Mr. Rawlings was hooked up like Colt was in Omaha. "Mrs. Byrnes, what are you doing?" Neil asked.
I turned my head, seeing him. "Just double checking," I lied.
"Leave her be. She's a nurse too," I hear Dean and everyone else talk distinctly.
Neil nodded at Dean. I looked at Neil, I started hearing Neil's thoughts.
'That's the half-bred that Michael's looking for but I recognize Michael's favorite monkey suit.'
I see Neil walking past me. "Are you sure this is a blood fusing?" I asked.
"Yes," he said, checking on the monitors. I hear Dean and Sasha's feet, walking to the room.
"Hey, babe," Dean whispered. I pulled Dean away, looking at him.
"Dean, Neil's a djinn," I whispered in his ear. Dean nodded, looking at the blood.
"I see it too. I was hooked on it years ago," Dean whispered. "Good thing I brought a knife with lamb's blood in my jacket," I whispered.
"Are you sure it's a transfusion?" Dean asked Neil. "Umm. it keeps up its iron," he said.
"He's lying. His brother tried to kill me and Colt in Omaha," I whispered. Dean nodded, looking at Sasha.
"Sasha, could you go make me a sandwich?" Dean asked. Sasha looks at Dean.
"Seriously? You want me to make you a sandwich?" Sasha asked. She looks at me.
"Sasha, go. He's a monster," I mouthed. Sasha nodded at me. "I'll just go make that sandwich," Sasha said, walking away.
"Great," Dean said, slowly getting his gun out. I did as well, taking safety off.
Neil looks at us. "What are you two doing?" Neil asked.
"It didn't hit me at first, but then I remembered. I've seen that rig before, a long time ago, when I was hooked up to it," Dean said.
"And your brother in Omaha, hooked my friend to set a trap for me to attack and tried to kill me," I said.
"You're not giving him blood, you're taking it. You're a djinn," Dean said. "But you and your wife knew that already," Neil said, his face has tattoos popping on his face.
"I envisioned it, you sick fuck," I said. "Why are you going after Hunters?" Dean asked.
"Because you told me to," Neil said.
I looked at Dean.
"Dean, what is he talking about?" I asked, confused. "Oh, your husband didn't tell you? Is this still part of the game?" Neil asked.
"Dean, what's going on?" I asked. "What game?" Dean asked.
"The test," Neil said. "Michael. You think I'm Michael?" Dean asked.
"You're not?" Neil asked. "Michael left his vessel a while ago. He has a new one," I said.
"What she said," Dean said. "I thought when you showed up with that ridiculous History Society story that you, he, was testing me making sure I kept my end of the bargain," Neil said.
"What bargain?" I asked. He moves closer. "Stop!" Dean said, pointing his gun at him.
"Find somewhere quiet, set up shop, kill as many Hunters as we can. Capture Dean Winchester's wife when we see her and take her to Ligeia," Neil said.
"In return he'd give you an upgrade?" Dean asked. "It was as he does," Neil paused as he walked over to Mr. Rawlings.
"What powers do we really have? Trapping our little flies, weaving our poisonous web inside people's minds. It's all so limiting. Now, one touch, I read minds, see nightmares, and because of him, because of you. I can bring those nightmares into the world, make them do whatever I want," Neil said.
"Old man?" Dean asked. "His nightmare is dying in this house, unmourned, unloved, rotting away in the family crypt, along with his own regret. It's a tab macabre, don't you think? Now you little Hunter girl? Hers were more interesting. It's a shame what those vampires did to her family. Quite a place she came from, your friend Bobby. Things slitter into his mind," Neil said, moving closer to Dean.
"Stop, wannabe Cryptkeeper!" I said. "We know that won't do any harm. I highly doubt you have a knife dipped in lambs blood," Neil said.
"It'll slow you down," Dean said. I stand in front of Dean, shoot Neil in his leg.
"You have to go through me to get to Dean, asshole," I said.BNeil shoved me out of the way.
He charges at Dean, making him drop his gun on the floor. He grabs Dean by the neck.
I look on, taking my knife out of my jacket. The djinn's eyes turn blue.
"Relax, I won't let anything happen to Michael's favorite monkey suit, but I am curious. What are your nightmares?" Neil asked, touching Dean's head.
I took out a knife dipped in lamb's blood out of my jacket. Dean starts groaning.
Neil started gasping. I charged at Neil, stabbing him in the back with the knife dipped in lamb blood.
Neil groans in pain, turning to me. Dean grabs his head, bashing it on the desk, kneeing him in the guts.
"Good thing my wife brought lambs blood with a knife and now, we'll kill you," Dean said.
Dean grabs a book end, hitting Neil with it. Dean repeats all the blows.
Neil starts laughing, slowly standing up. "You two think we're the only ones? The only trap, he made dozens of us. Just waiting for you, your wife, your family. Even your own daughter," Neil said.
"You don't know our family. You keep my daughter out of this," Dean said, winking at me. I stood behind Neil, chopping the head of his body.
His body and head drops on the floor. Dean picks up his gun.
Dean and I stood together, looking down at Neil. We shoot Neil to make sure he stays dead.
"What a sick fuck," I said. "That he was," he said, shaking his head.
Next Day
We're back at the Bunker. Maggie's resting. Bobby and Mary are heading to Minnesota to stay at Donna's cabin.
"We need to start calling people about Michael's new army of monsters," Dean said. "I'll call Colt and Dani to warn them," I said.
Dean nodded, hugging me. I held him closely.
I started calling Colt and Dani. "Nadia, hey," Colt said.
"What are you and Dani doing?" I asked. "Looking at wedding venues," Colt said.
"Colt. Michael's creating an army," I said. "The other world Michael?" Colt asked.
"Yes, a new breed of monsters. I need you and Dani to stay together and be safe. Also, let your parents know," I said, continue telling what's going on.
