Chapter Ten

Edited by: thirtxn

I was on my way to speak with Twilight when I realized I hadn't spoken to my aunt in awhile. I stopped by the classroom to greet her. Aunt Justice turned around, but instead of purple, chin length hair, I got ankle long, midnight blue curls. "Hello Skyler!" Aunt Justice said with a smile.

"What's up with your hair?" I asked, stepping into the room towards her.

"This is my natural hair. I was wearing a wig the last time you saw me. Just trying something new,"she explained. "What are you here for?"

"Just stopping by to say hi," I said, looking around. I bit my lip and shifted my feet.

"What's wrong?"

"Nothing," I assured her.

"Well ok, but if you ever need to talk I'll always be here. No matter what," Aunt Justice said.

"Thanks but I have to go," I said, rushing out.

-

"Twilight?" I asked, knocking on her door.

"Come in!" she answered. I opened the door and saw Twilight playing with Luna.

"Hi, Aunt Skyler!" Luna giggled as Twilight tickled her stomach.

"Hi, Luna," I responded back. "Could I talk to you?"

"Yeah. Sure," Twilight said, lifting Luna into her lap. "What's up?"

"Well - I don't know where to start. But promise you'll listen to everything. No weird looks."

"I promise," Twilight said sincerely.

So I started from the beginning. The entire time Twilight was listening and it felt good that she wasn't thinking I was crazy. At the end she finally nodded and said, "I believe you. It all makes sense. What Justin said at the wedding, your dream, your power, the way he denied it right away."

"Yes! I'm so glad you believe me."

"But how are we going to expose him?" she asked.

"I have no clue. But we need to do it soon, I can't stand him anymore," I answered. Luna started squirming in Twilight's lap.

"I'm sorry, Skyler. I need to put Luna down for a nap, but we'll talk about it later, ok?"

"That's fine. Thanks for listening to me. Bye, Luna."

"Bye, Aunt Skyler," Luna said, yawning.

I walked out of Twilight's room with a start of a plan.

All I had to do was find the sun pin in Justin's room. Then I could expose him. I snuck into his room and started rummaging through his stuff - lot's of papers and knick-knacks. After five minutes of searching, I found it. Attached to it was a note saying, 'Do the job and get out.' Then I heard footsteps and didn't have enough time to hide. Justin came in with a concerned look on his face.

"What are you doing in here?"

"Uh, I was looking for my wedding ring. I thought it might be in here," I lied, starting to walk out. But instead of believing me, Justin grabbed my clasped hand and spun me around, taking the pin and note out of my grasp. "Give that back!" I screamed. Justin clamped a strong hand around my mouth.

"Not going to happen. I've got a job to do, and guess what? You're a big part in it," he said, laughing. I tried to make an escape, but just as I got free he grabbed my emerald colored dress, tearing away tons of fabric.

"You monster!" I screamed. Then he took a small pocket knife out and gently cut a circle around my arm, enough to make it starting bleeding, dripping down my skin. The blood bracelet on my shoulder was starting to spill more. "Let me go!" I screamed. Finally I tore always from his grip. I ran to the doorway but stopped when he spoke.

"You don't want to go tell somebody what just happened."

"And why's that?" I asked, panting, trying not to show my fear.

"'Cause that little niece of yours will have something coming for her."
