Chapter Eighteen

Earth.

I felt like hadn't seen it in ages, but it had only been five months. I missed everything about it, including the sun. I missed how bright it could get and the warmth of it. I mean, yes it was warm in the Night Kingdom, but I missed the natural warmth of the sun. All of the plants and grass. All the normal clothing, no dresses or tiaras. Luckily, I had put on a pair of jeans and a shirt. Nobody would suspect I was a princess from another planet, but it was time to get down to business. Finding Jessica was not going to be easy. It's not like there are stores where you could buy bombs. She must have been in touch with someone, which meant somewhere secret, which probably meant the country. Nobody ever visited places like that. But as I continued to walk down the streets in the city, I wondered where.

Then it hit me.

The only place she would feel safe - the one place her plan almost worked.

Our old home.

As I stared at, I remembered the good times I actually had in it. Then I remembered the night when it all started. I was happier with my real family, not her. She needed to be stopped. So, I started sneaking towards the house. Where would she meet her bomb dealer?

I stood at the back door hoping she wasn't inside. I heard the click of the door and knew I was in. I snuck around the house for awhile but couldn't find her anywhere. Not even any signs she was here. There was one last room that I dreaded going in. Jessica's room. She never allowed me in it. I grasped the metal door knob and slowly opened her door. As I walked in I gasped.

Covering her walls were plans to destroy the Night Kingdom. Each one had a bright red 'X' on it except for one. On it had a picture of a bomb and tiny notes around it. It was circled in green. Her bomb plan. Her desk was filled with notes upon notes about how she would accomplish each plan, but what caught my eye was a leather journal tied up in rope. Her diary. My curiosity got the best of me and I ripped it open, reading the first entry.

Dear diary, I just got Skyler back from the Night Kingdom. Almost got caught. Her stupid parents blocked her from going over, so I had bring her here. She's sound asleep. She's going to be a pain to raise. My little Justin was. Every night I'm going to have to go back home to take care of him, then come back here to take care of her. If only they didn't steal my powers, then I wouldn't of had to steal their precious angel. That's all for now.

Sincerely, Jessica.

I couldn't believe her. Documenting everything. Saying I was a pain. Saying she had no choice to steal me. She was going to pay - for everything, and that would end in death for her.

I slid the journal into my bag and continued searching. Finally I found something. A random candelabra in her closet. Who needs light in a closet? I roughly pull at it and after ten seconds of pulling, it slowly goes down and the floor of the closet opens and I fall through it.

I landed with a thud and looked around. Crates full of bombs sat around. The same platform I went in to get to the Night Kingdom sat in the center, but this one was red. Must be to get to the Day Kingdom, I thought.

Standing in the middle of it all was Jessica and her bomb dealer.
