I've been trying to write a short story set after Stars of Varda for years. I know in my note at the very end I said I wasn't planning to write anymore about Rîneth and Thranduil, but that's not what my heart really wanted! Immediately after writing Stars of Varda, I came up with not one, but two short story ideas set after the events of the last chapter. There was one I almost finished I had named Star Bride, and then just like that I abandoned it. For some reason I didn't think it was good enough.

A few years later I tried to write another short story set right after the events of the last chapter with Thranduil making the announcement of their betrothal to everyone in the Dining Hall, but I abandoned that too. During the pandemic I wrote some more, and yet again I couldn't make it work.

But something just clicked this time. I was looking through my documents and there it was: Star Bride. I hadn't read it in years and had forgotten most of it. I was so excited when I realized how good it actually was. I knew I just had to finish it. This time it had to happen.

Not only did I finish it, I added in my fun Dining Hall announcement idea. It's a five-part short story set between the events of Stars of Varda and the epilogue, more like a collection of vignettes, or "slice of life" moments, featuring my favorite two people.

And you guys kept asking for it: One part is from Thranduil's point of view.

The first section ties in with the events of the last chapter, "Confirmation", after Thranduil and Rîneth finally have their wonderful moment at Laurenendë. Prepare yourself for a lot of fluff.
