IN 1989, kids are not going to be strutting around in skinny jeans and crop tops and cold shoulder tops. Keep it realistic to a) the time period, b) the age, and c) the wealth!

If it's a girl OC, think of the way Bev dresses. A little demure, but sweet, age appropriate, and time period appropriate. If your character doesn't dress like Bev, draw inspiration from characters like Max Mayfield or Eleven. Or if you want the actual 80s, take a look at some 1980s movies and how the girls dress.

If it's a boy, think of the other boys from the Losers Club and how their personalities and lives match how they dress. Think of characters like the boys from the Goonies.

And remember they live in a SMALL, CONSERVATIVE TOWN.

No one's going around wearing expensive designer clothes or even any 80s trends that might be deemed too scandalous for the town.

Keep it accurate to the time, the age, and the town!
