|20| Peace|

The sand and clay is cold, and as night falls Aaron stares up at the stars, counting thin is impossible, but he still attempts. Mostly to keep his mind off of everything. But this of course fails.

I miss having her sleep beside me. His own thoughts mulling around in his head. His past seemed so distant. He'd only spent two days in the prison but it felt like so much longer.

I miss her laugh... her smile." He wished his mind would stop thinking about her, but he couldn't do anything about it, the more he tried to just fall asleep the more his mind wandered.

I miss her cooking, I miss home, I miss Malachi, Eclipse.

He stares at the moon. Then down at his burned and calloused hands.

For once he looks up at the sky, and subtly he closes his eyes in prayer.

Dante shuffles beside him, turning away and Laurence had still not woken from the explosion.

"If you do exist. I ask only one thing, you take care of her. And I'll meet Mason in hell."

"Well let's hope you still have time to prove your worth." A voice calls back to him, and he sits up in fear, and nearly wakes Dante.

"He won't be able to see me. Let the man sleep, he needs it." Something translucent, and a cool faded blue appears in front of him, a figure.

A figure with that once, had blonde hair and blue eyes.

"Levin..." Aaron's eyes well up in tears as the boy's spirit hovers Aaron forces himself to get up despite the pain he's in and tries to touch the boy, but his hand just goes through.

"Yeah." Levin gives him a small smile, before floating beside him, Aaron falls back down into a sitting position. And Levin sits on a rock beside him.

"Am I dreaming? This can't be real..." Levin shook his head and put his hand on Aaron's shoulder, and he felt a chill run up his spine.

"No, I thought I was too, when I saw my own dead body lying in the ground underneath me and my family in tears. But No I wasn't and neither are you." Aaron wanted to cry, but he still refused too, Dream or not, he had to keep his cool.

"So you've been traveling with us." Aaron chocked out, his voice cracking, as he was on the verge of tears.

"Every step of the way." Levin says staring deeply at the moon, closing his eyes and looking back at Aaron.

"I want to go home, to momma, to my brother." Aaron hiccups, trying desperately to contain the tears in his eyes, even holding his hand up to his mouth.

"But I can't, and I'm staring at the person who wants so badly that same goal. And yet here he is, having the ability to do so and not running to my momma's arms." Aaron closes his eyes for a moment, and looks back at him, his throat starting to hurt from containing sobs.

"Aaron." Levin starts his translucent blue hand moving again to Aaron's shoulder.

"I can't be with them anymore, but you can, please, if you can't do it for yourself, do it for me." Aaron takes one long look at him until finally breaking down into tears, his sobs muffled by his hand.

"You don't have to convince me to go back, I was already planning on it." He manages to say, before succumbing again to the ravaging emotion combined with pain.

"I know. I just... need you to tell them I'm sorry." Aaron looks over to see translucent tears now dripping from the spirits face.

"Sorry that... I was such a dimwit, if I had only listened to Malachi, if I had turned around a second sooner, I could've been there with you..." The two males, one living, and the other dead, stay in silence for awhile, both trying to compose themselves.

"It's not your fault, you couldn't have known. And you weren't a dimwit, you were sweet, and a gentleman. You had a great life ahead of you. It was taken away too soon."

Levin smiles for a final time, the sun starting to rise over the horizon, and he was starting to fade.

"Maybe..." as the light beams over the horizon, his voice gets fainter, finally he was moving on from one world to the next, at peace.

"Goodbye, Tell my family I love them." He slowly disappears, and Aaron smiles.

"They already know buddy, They already know. Goodbye." He whispers a final goodbye and looks into the sunset, thinking back.

"Man I slept good!" Dante yawns as he rubs the sleep out of his eyes.

"Aaron? You okay?" He asks when he sees how red his eyes are from crying, yet the black haired man looks at him smiling.

"Yeah, Come on, let's give Mason a piece of our minds." He stands, expecting pain to wash over him, instead, the great feeling of nothing did.

He grins and looks back at the rising sun.

                           Thank you.

Did this make anyone else cry? Because I was so close a few times writing it. But I've had quite the emotional day (Not really anything that happened just a mixture of a mood swing and a poorly timed mental breakdown where I questioned existence.)

Anyway next chapter is the end.

Bye~
