Prologue

It was another lonely night. Lola had befriended another golden star, and watched it shimmer amidst the darkening mist when she noticed the light of her dad's car break into the driveway.
He looked up knowingly, "Can't sleep again?"
They took their usual walk around the block, having their usual conversation when her dad stopped to take a good look at her. With the streetlights shining onto her face, Lola looked like the child she was eight years ago. Ginger curls, and her dark sage rimmed glasses too big for her face. "You've grown so fast."
"Dad..." She rolled her eyes, though did so playfully.
"Come here." He took her in his arms and planted a kiss on the top of her head before chuckling lightly, "You're going to college, moving out. You're gonna meet new people, and fall in love."
"I'm not gonna fall in love." Lola hugged him back tighter. "I'm gonna come right back, and live with you and mom 'till I'm like, thirty."
He laughed. "You're always welcome to do so," he pulled back and held her face in his large, warm hands, "but if I've learned one thing about humans, it's that all of them fall in love at some point in their lives."
Lola looked down, shrugging over the words she thought to be mostly unnecessary.
"And you're the most human human I've ever met, Carrot." He added. "I want you to go to that school and do all the things your mom and I couldn't. I hope you find someone who loves you just as much as you love them, because if there's anyone that's deserving of love, it's you."
Although his words were slurred, Lola couldn't help but sniffle between his comforting hands. "Dad? You're being so emotional right now! It's cringe!"
"My only daughter is going off to college, I think I have all the rights in the world to be a little cringe!" He pulled her in once again, nuzzling her face against his chest and wrapping her in his loving arms.

[ the next morning ]
"You're not a freshman anymore, Jungkook!" Miss Park pointed at the tattooed boy sitting in front of her. "You have to start taking this seriously!"
The tip of his tongue fiddled with the ring pierced into his bottom lip, while he looked up at the ceiling. "I am takin' it seriously."
"How?"
"I take my fights very seriously." His pompous face lit up with joy when he saw her pushing her glasses up the bridge of her nose with anger apparent on her reddening face. "Haha I'm fuckin' witchu."
"Language!"
Her holler was followed by an immediate silence, and the sudden lack of sun dimmed the room to a more intimate setting. Just then, a knock was heard on the door.
"Come in!"
In poked a familiar face. "May I?"
Miss Park cleared her throat, and straightened her posture quickly. "Namjoon!" She beamed, "I was waiting for you to come and play parent again!"
The dimpled boy flashed a fiery glare at the one sitting, but averted his full attention to his principal wearing a black skirt ending at her thighs. "I'm here to let you know that Charlie's fine. His nose is bleeding still, but at least he's conscious now... sorta."
"See?" Jungkook chimed in, his tongue poking the inside of his cheek. "Very seriously."
At her snapping point, "Will you ever learn?!" Miss Park slammed her hand against the desk. "I mean, you go around breaking people's noses and can't even apologize? Or thank me for having an hour long zoom call with the headmaster to save your ass?!"
It was clear he didn't care, but by the way Namjoon had cleared his throat, Jungkook knew what he had to do. He stood up and -in the process- pushed the chair back with his big black boots, only to look his principal in the eyes and mumble, "'Preciate it."
Disappointed, Namjoon cleared his throat once again.
"Damn, watchu want me to say?" The younger one scorned and brought his arms together in front of his broad chest.
"JK-" Namjoon's threatening voice was all it took.
"Aight aight," he kissed his teeth. "Thanks for savin' my ass, and I'm sorry for breakin' that lil' bitch's nose." Jungkook smirked proudly. "Can I go now?"
With a sigh, "Get out of my goddamn office!" Miss Park pointed straight at the door.
Once the door was shut, it was Namjoon and Miss Park alone. She took her glasses off and threw them on the desk with an exhausted exhale, burying her face in her palms. "I don't know if I can keep doing this."
Namjoon's careful steps filled the room. He approached her from behind, taking her wrists into his hands, delicately, yet in a commanding way. "Shh... It's okay."
"No it's not, Joon." She argued, palms slamming down on the edge of the desk. "He's out of control. One more commotion and it won't be in my hands to keep him from being expelled anymore!"
He let her finish, before placing dominant hands on her hips. "You own this school." His mouth sat only shivers away from her ear. "You got the last say in the matter."
"That's, that's not how things work." Her lips fell apart, and out of them spilled a suppressed moan.
Namjoon's teeth were grazing the shell of her ear, and her arms were already turning to jelly.
"So whatchu tryna say is-" he lost no time to bend her over the desk and hunch over to reach her ear, "you can't do this one lil' thing for me?"
His deep, raspy groans smoothly buttered her eardrums, though something in her gut was aching to remind her of her dignity. "I've done many little things for you Namjoon. For your friends..." she took a brief pause, "For my son."
Namjoon rolled his eyes, and decided to take it further. His fingers crawled up her inner thigh, "I know. Wearing this skirt's one of 'em. You wildin' for that."
She gasped under his touch.
"I ever tell you how sexy you look in this?" The opportunity was right in front of him, so Namjoon took it with pride. His tongue glided from her shoulder to the bottom of her jaw, "Got me thirsty for them lips."
Miss Park chuckled involuntarily. Whimpers echoed and their breaths collided in a short but heated kiss. "Namjoon-"
"If you keep being good for me, I'll be good for you." His cold fingers stopped right on the lace detailing on her panties. "Just how you like it."
She couldn't speak, but she could nod. The more he pressed against her folds, the louder her whimpers became.
Namjoon whispered into her ear; "Yeah?"
"Okay. Okay. Okay, I'll try my best." Miss Park cried. "Please, please Joon, please do that thing!"
The thought of him being the only person in the entire school that knows how pathetic his principal could get did arouse him, and he wasn't going to lie about it.
He laughed out his nose and left her untouched. "I can't right now, but we gon' link up tonight, K?"
She gave him a disappointed nod, and he left immediately after.
Outside the office waited Jungkook. His back leaned against the white wall, legs crossed, and a joint lit between his fingers. "Fuckin' finally!"
Namjoon instantly snatched the roll and put it out on the sleeve of the younger ones leather jacket. "You trippin'?! Smokin' this out 'n about!"
"Who fuckin' cares bro, you got me!"
Ignoring Jungkook's smug little face, Namjoon kept on stomping down the hallway.
"Hyung!" Jungkook followed closely behind. "I'm joking!" He threw an arm around the dimpled buff boy and chortled crudely. "Why you mad?"
"Why am I mad?" Namjoon held the boy by the neck and brought him down to the level of his belt. "Let's think about it! Hm? You still beefin' with those kids even though I told you to cut that shit out! You finna catch these hands f'you keep breakin' they bones."
Once he let go, Jungkook only smiled. He looked up at Namjoon with big brown eyes, like he always does. There's a certain admiration between the two. To Jungkook, Namjoon is the coolest man to ever walk the earth, someone he wants to be like. To Namjoon, Jungkook is the little brother he never had, someone he feels obligated to protect.
"Ain't it tight, though?" Jungkook questioned as they continued to sluggishly strut down the corridor. "My ass got you fuckin' the principal! How else you woulda bagged her?"
Concern filling Namjoon's eyes, "I swear, if you tell Jimin about this-"
"You'll chop my massive balls off. Got it." He finished. "Hyung, you don't gotta worry, your secret's safe with me... Jin hyung, and Taehyung."
"Man, watchu know 'bout secrets?" Namjoon raised a brow and tapped the other one's shoulder. "Let's go, the boys are waiting."
❤️
Her steps came to a sudden halt, right on their way to her dorm room. "What's wrong Carrot?" Her dad raised a brow.
"Lola?" Her mother questioned too, a hand on her shivering shoulder for comfort. "You okay honey? Are you nervous?"
She turned to face her taller parents, doll-faced, "I feel like my heart's about to explode out of my chest."
"Okay-" her father took them in, overwhelming them in a family hug. "it's time for a love surge!"
Their bodies jittered with the vibrations coming from his larger, more dominating figure.
"Dad!" Lola struggled to squeeze out of the embarrassment, giggling to overshadow the immense cringe she felt from her dad's Tiktok knowledge. "You're not helping at all!"
Her mother, who had the same shade of red in her roots, tucked her daughter's curls behind her ear and kissed her on the forehead. "Lola honey, there's nothing to be afraid of. Remember what I always tell you?"
"People will only love you as much as you love yourself." Lola said.
"That's right." Her mother flicked the tip of her nose endearingly. "You're a woman now. Dolores Fitz-Harold, You should have enough love inside that big heart of yours."
Luke, her dad, watched his two favorite women with hearts in his eyes. Hands in his pockets, he pressed his lips into a thin line and smiled wide. "You two are incredible."
They hugged again, this time without the love surge, and knocked the door to her dorm room.
"Oh my god hi!" They were welcomed in by a face so uplifting, Lola couldn't help but smile from ear to ear. "You're Dolores Fitz-Harold, right?"
"I prefer Lola!" She pushed her glasses up the bridge of her nose. "Nice to meet you- ?"
Her dorm mate moved aside to let her in. "I'm Destiny."
"Destiny!" Lola nodded and pushed her suitcase in to examine the room while Destiny had a short chat with her parents.
"You don't gotta worry about... this, by the way." She pointed at the silver septum piercing, and the multiple around her lips, which were contrasting beautifully on her dark complexion. "I know parents see kids with holes in they face and immediately think bad, but I'm a straight A, mindin' her own business. Your daughter's in good hands."
Luke raised his brows, smiling awkwardly. "We weren't worried at all."
His wife, Orla, did the same.
A brief moment of silence passed before Luke clicked his tongue and pulled Lola in for one last hug. "Alright Carrot, I think it's time we go now."
Her heart sinking just a little bit, "Mhm." Lola gave in and wrapped her arms around the both of them. "Love you."
"We love you too, baby." Her dad smiled as they gradually shut the door. "Don't forget to call or text! We'll call regularly too!"
Destiny watched Lola wave her parents off, and crossed her arms in front of her chest. "Damn, the last time I saw a relationship this healthy, I was six years old watching 'Charlie And The Chocolate Factory'."
"Oh," Lola grinned, "yeah. They're, they're cool!"
"Girl you kidding?" Destiny held her new dorm mate by the hand and led her to the empty bed. "They're so chill! You got any siblings?"
"No! No! I don't!" Lola sat down on the naked mattress, gulping. "I don't, uhm, I-I don't have any siblings! Like, at all! None!" She gulped again.
"Damn relax! It was just a question!" Destiny laughed. "... I have a little brother." She groaned. "Ugh, he's like a lil' demon child!"
They conversed over family and their lives leading up to this very moment, and Lola remembered she had to be mentored.
Destiny wished her good luck, "First day is the worst, but then it gets better I swear!"
Lola thanked her for the support and left for the lecture hall.
❤️
"Where the fuck is that little bitch?" Hoseok roamed around the crowded lecture hall to spot a familiar face, but to no avail.
The room had been overflowed with groups of freshmen waiting for their mentor to approach them. Jung Hoseok himself had been assigned to mentor, as well as like Min Yoongi, who was nowhere to be found.
Namjoon and Jungkook approached Hoseok by the main tables, sensing his distress. "Have yall seen Yoongi somewhere?" He questioned.
The other two shrugged.
"He's supposed to be mentoring that group." Over the chattering bunch of students, Hoseok pointed at three girls across the room. One of which rocked red curls and large frames, while the other two hung empty blonde in her shadow.
For good or bad, she stood out.
That is exactly what had intrigued Jungkook. There was no clear reason as to why he wanted to see her up close, and perhaps even under him, but he did.
"She bad, lowkey." He grabbed a random folder off the table, "I'll mentor them." and disappeared into the crowd of anxious students.
"He's unbelievable..." Hoseok sighed. "Like literally unbelievable."
"Who?" Jin chimed in from behind, having just finished mentoring his group. "Oh." He understood upon seeing the mullet wearing tall boy, getting a little too close to a group of girls in the distance. "Was he even assigned to mentor?"
The others shook their heads disappointed.
"Sup ladies?" Jungkook neared the three, and glanced over the blue-eyed blondies who looked eerily alike, instead, he took a long look at Lola from head to toe, "How you doin'?"
"Good!" Lola beamed. She pushed her glasses up the bridge of her nose and re-adjusted the straps of her totebag on her shoulder. "You?"
"Doin' aight." He licked his lips, and took a step closer. She looked up at him, but not into his eyes. They were sucking her in, dangerous, and maybe a little too captivating than she'd like to say.
Lola had seen hot men in her life, not a lot of them were at school, but this was the first time she was curious about the hot man before her. He had a charm, one that birthed butterflies inside her stomach.
"What's your name shawty?"
While the other two girls were drooling over the sight of him, white tank fitted tightly under a black leather jacket, silver chains dangling just under the collar, and the tattooed hand, Lola focused on the way he kept his lips wet around the fresh piercing.
"Dolores Fitz-Harold." She told him. His brow cocked with amusement. Eyes eating her from head to toe. "But I go by Lola."
Jungkook's lips curled up, and his half-lidded eyes opened wide. "Lola? Like the cartoon?"
"Yeah, I guess." She sighed.
"It's kinda funny 'cause people tell me I look like a bunny."
Lola did see it, though she didn't want to admit. The blonde's agreeing in whispers weren't helping.
"Y'know bunnies got a special bond with each other?" He brought the tip of his tongue to sit right at the base of his lip piercing, playing menacingly around the silver metal.
"I've never heard that before..."
"It's actually breeding season for them right now."
Lola's brows snapped together. "What does that mean?"
"It means they're fucking." He giggled, and the bunny resemblance turned uncanny.
"No, I- I know what breeding means, it's just- why are we talking about this right now?" Lola wasn't sure where the conversation was going. She had an idea, but she didn't want it to go there.
"It just mean like, f'you ever want dick..." He trapped his tongue between his straight white teeth, a pompous expression, "I'm always available."
Lola took a long second to process his words before drawing back her arm and landing a tight smack on his jaw.
The sound echoed enough for the students close to turn their heads and gasp. The blondies too, gasped. Their faces were clear as they, judging Lola for not being able to take a little joke.
"Damn girl!" Not having moved an inch, Jungkook caressed his cheek and looked her up and down. "Where the fuck you packin' allat strength?"
From across the room, "Damn!" the boys winced in place of their youngest. "Holy cow!" Jin covered his gaping mouth.
"I wonder what he said to get her so angry." Hoseok started a heated discussion between the boys. "Something unholy... that's for sure."
Just then, Yoongi ran in catching his breath.
"Shit I'm late!" He buttoned his shirt while cussing under his breath.
Hoseok lightly smacked his arm, "Where the hell were you?!"
The question had been answered by Jimin running in disheveled. His chest heaved as he wiped the sweat off his forehead and fixed his dirty blond hair.
"Jesus lord." Jin looked up at the ceiling, turning away from the sins happening before his eyes, and started praying god would put him out of his misery.
"What?" Yoongi scorned, "We were just playing basketball."
Hoseok cocked a brow, standing sassily with one hand on his hip. "Mhm. Yall were definitely playin' with balls... We can tell that."
Interrupting their gay-on-gay bickering, "Erm, JK's currently being yelled at by one o' the chicks in the group you were 'posed to mentor..." Namjoon reminded.
"Shit!" Yoongi squeezed through the crowd for the rescue.
On the other hand, "I'm never letting him go in dry again..." Jimin ran his fingers through his hair, complaining with tired head shakes.
"See," Jin kissed his teeth, "some information doesn't need to be shared, but you still did." He grabbed another folder and took the leave to mentor his second group of freshmens.
Hoseok did the same, but not before telling Jimin to zip his pants up.
Completely ignoring his red face, "Where's Tae?" Namjoon asked.
"He said he forgot his phone at the dorm." Jimin replied.
Across the room, Yoongi was trying to settle things down. "I know he's a complete dick, but I promise he won't bother you again. Trust."
Hesitant, Lola pursed her lips and glared into the smug face of the tattooed boy towering over her.
Jungkook had his hands behind his back, and his tongue poking out the corner of his mouth. The joy was written raw on his snobbish face.
They threatened each other in their own ways, though she had to admit Jungkook's way worked better. He had mastered to intimidate, and Lola had figured out the kind of man he was.
So she retreated, "Fine." Her eyes settled on Yoongi. "I won't report him for now, but if he says things like that again-"
"Whatchu gon' do?" Jungkook giggled. When he looked down at her, he saw the short wisp of hair sticking out the top of her head like a tiny flame, and understood the way she worked. Lola was forcing the confidence, and you could see it clearly in the way her neck bubbled with goosebumps.
She snapped her brows together and poked his chest with the tip of her finger, pushing him back slightly, "I'll... I'll, I will tell-"
Her attempts at a clap-back were cut short by Jungkook's high pitched cackles. He brought his fist to his mouth and shut his eyes tight to properly mock her into embarrassement. "I'll- I'll- I'll- Damn you got me shiverin' like!"
"Alright alright," Yoongi held the younger one by the shoulder. "Dakchyeo!"
There were too many eyes around them. All of them picked and sliced at Lola's flesh. She felt as though her blood was boiling under her skin.
"Nah!" Jungkook wiped his waterline and let out one last breathy chuckle before licking his lips. "Shawty can't even build a sentence..."
She held back her tears and turned to Yoongi. "Can you start the guide please?"
"Uhh, yeah!" Gathering his folder, Yoongi sent Jungkook away and started his job as a mentor.
As he toured them around the college, Lola couldn't stop thinking about him... Jungkook.
