Please Stop Putting Flyers On My Door
Tay gripped her stack of flyers to her chest, gripping a roll of tape in between her teeth, and running up and down stairs on her street. She tore a flyer for her bands upcoming show in her basement off of the top of the stack and slammed it against the door she was in front off. She took the piece of tape in between her teeth, ripped it off and plastered it against the door.
She repeatedly banged her palm against the middle of the wooden door in a pattern of three slams, a pause, two, a pause, and four, then dashed off to the next house.
She had always used that pattern of knocking to let everyone know of her bands show, even though they rarely ever came out to the shows.
She repeated her process of taping the posters to doors, slamming her palm against it and running off about ten more times before she had gotten every door. After finishing the street, she had gone back and put a poster on every tree, lamp post, or pole.
She and her band were really pushing this next show because it was one of the first shows where they were charging a few dollars for entrance. Not many people usually come, but, it would put some money in the bands pocket.
She stepped off the sidewalk and stood in between two parked cars, peaking out to see if any cars were coming. She saw one coming, but, decided to run anyway. She barely missed being hit, but was then yelled at with a string of profanities and 'watch where you're going' from the family in the car. Tay just laughed it off and went up to the house in front of her.
She had known who lived here, they weren't friends or anything, but she knew her. Jenna McDougall was the sole resident of house number nineteen. Jenna McDougall was the one who threw her newspaper at Tay when she last put a flyer on her door. Jenna McDougall was the hot chick who lived across the street from Tay who Tay only bothered her because she wanted to talk to her.
Tay went up the stairs and up to the door, picking up flyer and ripping a piece of tape off with her teeth. As she was about to plaster the paper against the door, the door flung open.
"I thought I politely asked you before to stop putting papers on my door when I threw my newspaper at you," the green haired girl told her sternly. Tay stared up at Jenna, slightly offended but completely understanding what she meant.
Tay looked down at her legs, but not before getting a complete look at what she was wearing like she did whenever she saw her. She was wearing a spaghetti strapped white tank top and black sweat pants.
Jenna looked at her, "Well? This isn't the first time I've told you to stop!"
Tay was speechless, so, she did what her gut told her to do. She taped the piece of tape against the paper and pressed it onto Jenna's forehead. And with a sly smirk and a whisper of, "hope you can make it", Tay was off and onto the next house.
