Jack's POV

-----

"You know you're a terrible dancer, right?" I told Alex, rubbing his knuckles with mine index finger while we walked home. A few weeks ago, Alex had signed us up for salsa classes, saying it would 'get us closer as a couple'.

We weren't much closer as a couple, it just made me laugh at him a lot.

He rolled his eyes, "You're not much better, you know," He laughed. I chuckled and stopped rubbing his knuckle, releasing his hand and wrapping my arm around his waist. He leaned his head in and placed it on my shoulder

"I know I'm not much better, you're just really fucking bad at it," I told him. He gasped and turned to me, with a hurt expression on his face.

"I did not sign up for these classes to be insulted," He threw his arms up in distraught. Was he actually offended by what I was saying? I rolled my eyes at him and pulled him closer to me as we got to the house, and as we got to the steps, he pushed me away. "Why you gotta be so mean to me?" He asked with a sigh.

"It's a fucking joke, dumb shit," I explained to him, "I would never insult you to be mean," I told him, taking his head in my hands and kissing his nose gently.

He pulled away and muttered, "Yeah right."

I sighed, "Just open the fucking door, babe, let's get inside."

He pulled his key out of his back pocket and unlocked the front door. We both shuffled in and I turned to him as we were taking off our sweatshirts.

"You know I was joking right?" I asked him. He shook his head and threw his dark blue hoodie on the coat rack.

Walking over to the couch, he muttered out a quick, "No you weren't," and collapsed onto the black cushions.

I sighed and went over to him, leaning over him and pecking his cheek. "Yes, I was," I told him in a stern voice.

"Don't lie to me," He mumbled, his face pressed into the cushions.

"Alex, I haven't lied to you in years, what makes you think I'm lying now?" I asked him.

He turned around so he was on his back, staring up at me, "Because I know I suck," He told me.

"Our relationship would be better if you could take a joke." I muttered, kissing his forehead quickly and standing up.

"Fuck you, Jack!" He hissed at me.

"You know I'm right!" I shouted at him. He threw him arms up to his hair and ran a hand threw it. "How come whenever I make a joke, you get all offended, but when you make a joke, it's perfectly fine?"

He stood up and stared at me, "How come all your jokes offend me?" He asked, putting his hands on his hips.

"Because you're too fucking sensitive, dammit!" I shouted, sticking my hand in my back pocket. My finger ran over the small box in it and I sighed.

"You know what Jack, just leave me be for a bit okay?" He asked me, but at the same time kind of yelled at me.

I rolled my eyes and grabbed my sweatshirt off the floor, "Fine, oh, and by the way," I told him, pulling the ring presentation box out and tossing it to him, "we're getting married."

"Whatever, asshat!" He replied, gripping the box in his left hand as I left the house.
