Final Chapter: A Journey to the Unknown!

(A/N: Once again like the last chapter, I might skip some details to the original story of the confrontation between Akira and Higurashi, but if you have seen the last episode or read the manga, then you'll understand. Apologies once again, but anyways, let's enjoy!)

-No One's P.O.V-

As Beatrix Amerhauser and (Y/N) (L/N) continued their precarious journey atop the rolling water wheel, the relentless groans of zombies followed them. The monotonous walk prompted Beatrix to break the silence with a mischievous smile.

Beatrix: Hey, (Y/N), let me tell you a funny story about my homeland,

Beatrix began, her turquoise-blue eyes gleaming with enthusiasm.

You looked at her, intrigued.

(Y/N): Sure, Bea. Anything to pass the time.

Beatrix launched into her story, her German accent adding a unique charm to her words.

Beatrix: So, there's this tradition in Germany during Christmas. We have these little figurines called 'Weihnachtsmänner,' which are like miniature Santas. Well, people like to hide them in unexpected places, and the game is to find them. It gets hilarious when someone forgets where they hid one, and it turns up months later in the middle of summer!

You chuckled at the mental image of a tiny Santa appearing out of nowhere during the summertime.

(Y/N): That's pretty amusing, Bea. I can imagine the confusion.

Beatrix grinned, her blond hair swaying with the rhythm of the rolling water wheel.

Beatrix: Oh, it gets even better. There's this game called 'Eierpicken,' where people compete by tapping boiled eggs against each other. The one whose egg remains uncracked is the winner. It's like a serious competition, and people get really into it. Imagine, grown adults passionately tapping eggs together!

You laughed, picturing the absurdity of adults engaging in such a competitive egg-tapping contest.

(Y/N): Sounds like a unique tradition. Do you participate in that, too?

Beatrix nodded with a playful expression.

Beatrix: Oh, absolutely! It's all in good fun. But trust me, you've never experienced true excitement until you've witnessed a heated Eierpicken tournament.

As the two of you continued walking on the water wheel, Beatrix shared more anecdotes and humorous tales from her homeland, creating a lighthearted atmosphere despite the zombie-infested surroundings. The unlikely duo navigated the rolling contraption, forging an unexpected bond amidst the chaos, finding moments of joy even in the face of adversity.

Eventually, you and Beatrix managed to see Akira Tendou and the remaining survivors of the village, even Mordred, Shizuka, and Kenichirou as well.

(Y/N): *Waving* Hey, everyone~!

Beatrix: Out of the way, please~!

Kenichirou: Bea?!

Mordred: (Y/N)?!

Beatrix: We cannot seem to get down, so we must crash into the electrical fence!

(Y/N): This may be hard to explain about the situation we had earlier, but yeah, move away, folks!

Akira: Everyone! Get away from the fence and open up a path!

Kenichirou: All healthy bodies, give the old folks a hand!

After everyone moved out of the way, the water wheel eventually crashes through the active electric fence as it began to fall, including the water wheel itself as you and Bea managed to jump down safely.

Akira: Now! Everyone, run!

Mordred: NIGERUNDAYO!!

And just like that, all of you began to start running to the suspension bridge altogether. However, everyone was in shock that there was no suspension bridge.

Akira: The suspension bridge...

Shizuka: It was our only way out!

Mordred: Who the hell cut it off?!

This causes panic around for the survivors, but they would all also hear the sound of zombies coming closer anytime to their location.

Kenichirou: Damn it! Isn't there anything we can do?!

Suddenly, a familiar deep voice spoke out from the other side.

???: Hey, guys! Take this!

Someeone threw a rolling bridge at the other side and Akira caught it with his hands.

Akira: *Smiles* Y-You're...Mr. Kumano!

Indeed, it was the old constructor man, Masaru Kumano himself, and is seen holding up his usual grin on his face and a hammer rested on his left shoulder.

Masaru: I came to see what the zombies were up in arms about...only to see your bridge was out! I built you a brand new one in a jiffy! Gyahaha!

(Y/N): *Grins* It was perfectly timed, old man!

Masaru: You're welcome! I told you I'd help you out if you ran into any trouble!

As everyone was to make their next move, the growling sounds of the zombies are getting closer.

Shizuka: They're already here!

Mordred: Quick, tie the bridge!

In a quick moment, both Kenichirou and Akira tied up the bride with much strength as they can to hold on.

Akira: We'll hold up the bridge!

Kenichirou: Get across now!

In a hurry, everyone quickly make their way across the bridge before the zombies would get them.

(Y/N): Alright, that's all of them!

Beatrix: Hurry, you two!

Akira: *Held up a fist bump* You ready for this Kenchou?

Kenichirou: *Winks with a smile* You bet, Akira!

And just like that, both Akira and Kenichirou held onto the ropes of the bridge while jumping out with big beaming grins on their faces while the zombies are seen falling off.

Kenichiro: This is super scary!

Akira: Uweeh!!

In the middle of that, everyone can hear the sound of slam or splat onto the wall at the edge of the bridge.

You, Shizuka, Beatrix, and Mordred shared concerned glances at each other as the four of you went over to the edge and looked down to see Akira and Kenichirou still hanging onto the ropes until...

Akira & Kenichirou: Ouch!!!

Both Akira and Kenichirou shared pain in unison with their faces in red after the collision on the walls.

Upon hearing those words caused everyone to be all happy and relieved that Akira and Kenichirou survived.

(Y/N): Whew, I thought they wouldn't make it.

Shizuka: *Nods* Same here.

Mordred: *Looks down* Come on, you two! Climb up!

Mordred beckons the duo as Akira and Kenichirou are now climbing up the bridge's planks like a ladder.

Kenichirou: *Baffled* He just wanted friends? If that's really all Higurashi wanted, then he's a god damn fool.

Akira: But when I was working for that exploitative company, I also lost sight of myself. Every day was so painful and I didn't know what I was living for. If I had wanted to make my own twisted lit like that black notebook...I could've...anyone could've become like Higurashi. So despite everything, I can't hate him.

Akira says before he and Kenichirou eventually climbed back up to the ground.

Akira's Dad: Good job, Akira.

Akira looked up to see his father lending out his hand to him as his father continued to speak up.

Akira's Dad: Without you, your mom and everyone in the village wouldn't be here. I'm proud of you, son!

Akira's father says with proud in his voice, much to Akira grins with a little chuckle and says...

Akira: *Reaches out to his father's hand* So, does this mean...I was able to repay you even just a little?

And just like that, Akira crossed the list of his Bucket List which was "38. Give back to my parents".

-Time Skip-

Later in time, everyone managed to thwart off the zombies back into the tunnel and rebuilding everything to undo the damage that Higurashi Kanta and his crew had done.

Later at night, Akira's father is seen bedridden as the emotional moments would begin for the Tendou family as the mood would being somber. However, it turns out that Akira's father had Hemorrhoids which explains why he's coughing out blood, ruining the emotional moment for everyone with Akira's mom casually explaining that his father hates hospitals so he didn't do anything about them. So now, the bleeding's awful, and a lot of times, the pain's so awful that he can't stand.

Akira: Umm...So then why he's wheezing?

Akira's Mom: Lately, it's been considerably hot in the countryside, even at night. It makes it difficult for old-timers to sleep. But we can't ignore hemorrhoids! If we left it alone, they could lead to a life-threatening infection!

Akira: *Laughing nervously* Ah...hahaha. I see. It's just hemorrhoids.

(Y/N): *Sweatdrops* (What a way to ruin an emotional moment...)

Akira: *Stands up* If that's the case, I think it's time for me to leave the village.

Kenichirou gasps upon hearing that.

Shizuka: What's going to happen to the village?

Beatrix: Akira, what do you wish to do outside of the village?

Mordred: *Nods* Yeah, what's your plan?

Akira: If the zombies are caused by a virus like Shizuka says...

Akira then makes a beaming smile and said..

Akira: I'll travel the country and look for a way to stop the infection. Then I'll convince Dad to get surgery for his hemorrhoids!

Upon hearing his announcement, everyone was in awe untill you spoke up.

(Y/N): *Raised eyebrow* Wow, that's some mindset you have, Akira.

Akira: Help humanity, do what you can for the world...Those were Dad's last wishes after all!

Kenichirou & Shizuka: (He's still alive though.)

Akira's Dad: Saving the world, huh? That's wild. *Grins* It's a big dream, though. I like it!

Later on, Akira Tendou is seen writing another list for his notebook which was "40. Make dad get hemorrhoid surgery".

Akira: *Looks at the group* What about all of you? Is there anything you want to add?

Shiziuka, Beatrix, and Kenichirou got up from their seats and starts adding their own lists onto the white noteboko. They have their goals, desires, and many more onto the dystopian world.

However, (Y/N) and Mordred remained seated, exchanging glances. Akira noticed their hesitation and asked..

Akira: What's wrong, you two? Don't you want to add your own wishes to the list?

(Y/N): *Sighs* It's not that we don't want to, Akira. It's just that, well, we don't really have anything specific in mind. We'll go along with your ideas and try them out, but we don't have personal goals to add.

Mordred nodded in agreement.

Mordred: Yeah, we're kind of going with the flow, you know? Taking things as they come.

Akira, Kenichirou, Shizuka, and Beatrix shared amused glances, understanding the duo's perspective. Akira chuckled before speaking up...

Akira: Well, that's alright! The whole point is to enjoy life, try new things, and make the most of every moment. You don't always need a specific goal. Just follow our lead and see where the journey takes you.

Kenichirou added with a grin.

Kenichirou: Who knows, maybe along the way, you'll discover something you never knew you wanted.

Beatrix, always enthusiastic, chimed in.

Beatrix: And it's not about having a perfect plan. It's about making memories and finding joy in the little things.

Shizuka, known for her logical thinking, nodded in agreement.

Shizuka: Life is unpredictable, and sometimes the best experiences come when you least expect them. So, go ahead and join the fun. Add something, even if it's just for the sake of trying new things.

(Y/N) and Mordred exchanged glances again, this time with a hint of amusement. (Y/N) grinned before saying...

(Y/N): Alright, fine. We'll add something, even if it's just to keep you all company on this crazy adventure.

Mordred added with a smirk.

Mordred: Just don't expect anything too wild.

The group laughed, united in their shared journey through the unpredictable and often absurd world that the apocalypse had created. With the white bucket list notebook in hand, they looked forward to making memories, facing challenges, and finding joy in the midst of the dystopian reality that surrounded them.

-The Next Day-

Once the morning rises, you and your group are prepared to head out to the unknown around in Japan. Many supplies are kept within the R.V for essentials such as water, food, and many more.

Mrs. Tome: *Talking to Shizuka* Take whatever you need.

Shizuka: *Smiles* Thank you so much!

???: Akemi!

Shizuka and the other villagers turned to see Old Man Hiko himself.

Hiko: I'll always be waiting. You come back now, you hear?

Shizuka: *Wistful Smille* Old Man Hiko. I'm not Akemi. I'm Shizuka.

Meawhile, Angie is seen looking at Kenichirou who is adjusting with the motor until Beatrix spoke up behind her.

Beatrix: It's going to get lonely, isn't it? I think it's okay to cry in front of him since you're saying goodbye.

Suddenly, Angie then wipes her tears and starts running after Kenichirou, much to Beatrix happily grinning.

Angie: Mr. Kenchou! *Grins* When you come back, show me how your slurp uddon with you butt!

Kenichirou was surprised, yet he forms a coolly grin and a thumb up.

Akira, on the other hand, waas carrying plastic packages of simmered seaweed, yet its was too much...

Akira: Enough already! We don't need this much simmered seaweed!

Akira's Mom: It's fine, it's fine! It'll keep! I don't like the idea of going hungry somewhere.

Akira: *Saddened* Mom...

Akira's Dad: Akira. Leave your mother to me!

Akira is surprised, yet her formed an optimistic grin as a reply.

As the goodbyes were exchanged, (Y/N) found himself gazing at the horizon with a distant look, contemplating the uncertainties of their journey. Sensing his thoughtful demeanor, Beatrix Amerhauser and Mordred Pendragon approached him, standing on either side.

Mordred, the tomboy with a playful smirk, asked...

Mordred: What's on your mind, (Y/N)? Planning our next adventure already?

You chuckled with your arms crossed before saying...

(Y/N): Something like that. It's just... the unpredictability of it all, you know? But hey, we've been having fun along the way.

Beatrix, with a mischievous glint in her turquoise-blue eyes, added her thoughts in a mix of English and German...

Beatrix: Ja, (Y/N), das Leben ist eine Reise, nicht ein Ziel. It means life is a journey, not a destination. Embrace the moments, enjoy the ride.

You smiled, acknowledging her words, but couldn't fully grasp the mix of English and German.

(Y/N): I'll take your word for it, Bea. You really know how to make things sound profound, even if I can't understand half of it.

Beatrix laughed, her German charm evident.

Beatrix: Ah, I just wanted to add a touch of romance to our journey.

Mordred, catching wind of Beatrix's playful remark, interjected with a smirk.

Mordred: Well, I'm all about the adventure and a bit of friendly competition. Who do you think (Y/N) would prefer on this crazy journey?

You raised an eyebrow, caught off guard by the sudden turn of conversation.

(Y/N): Wait, what? Why are we even talking about this?

Mordred and Beatrix exchanged a quick glance, their mischievous smiles mirroring each other. Mordred, with a teasing tone, said...

Mordred: Oh, nothing. Just a little competition to spice things up. Right, Bea?

Beatrix winked at you.

Beatrix: Ja, a friendly competition for your heart, (Y/N). May the best girl win.

You chuckled, a mix of amusement and bemusement on your face.

(Y/N): Alright, alright. Let's focus on the journey ahead, and maybe, just maybe, we'll figure this out along the way.

The trio shared a lighthearted laugh, ready to face the uncertainties of their adventure with camaraderie and a touch of friendly competition,

Akira: Okay, everyone! We're just gonna go and...save the world!

And just like that, you and your group rode on your vehicles altogether and waved goodbye.

Kenchirou: *Riding on his motorbike* So, what's the plan, Akira? Stopping a virus means we'll need a vaccine, right?

Shizuka: *Thoughtful* Are we heading to an infectious disease research lab? A U.S military base?

Akira: We go north!

(Y/N): North?

Mordred: *Riding on her motorbike* What for?

Akira: *Excited* Because all good travelers venture north! Isn't it exciting?

Everyone shared amusement upon hearing Akira's plan.

And just like that, days would later pass, and everyone had their moments of having fun around to cross out their bucket lists.

Kenichirou: Hey, I see it! The Seikan Tunnel!

Akira: Alright, next up is Hokkaido!

Kenichirou: Sounds good to me!

You let out a lighthearted chuckle before speaking out.

(Y/N): Well...let's all experience some new things altogether, everyone~!

Akira Tendou, Mordred Pendragon, Shizuka Mikazuki, Kenichirou Ryuuzaki, and Beatrix Amerhauser held their fist up together and spoke out in unison.

Everyone: Yeah!!

(A/N: Alrighit, that is all for the Zom 100 X Male Reader! Stay tuned for another book~!)
