Story
Five shapes ran over the bridge as rocks crumbled away. Three women and two men. All of them looked exhausted as they tried to throw off their haunters. The fastest one was Janna who hovered short over the ground. The wind played with her long blonde hair and her light clothes as she floated through the air. Janna often looked back and waited a bit until her teammates were near her again. She was way to exhausted to cast even one Howling Gale but the winds favoured everyone on Janna's side that's why she wanted them to be close by.
Next one was Soraka the starchild. Her willpower to help injured teammates allowed her to run faster towards them but whenever Janna stops she couldn't run anymore. She even was almost too weak to hold her moonshaped wand which she dragged across the floor. Soraka's energy was drained out of her body when she used up everything to heal her teammates so that they can survive. Not even her orange eyes sparkled anymore and even her blue skin seemed to be dull that's why she waited alongside Janna until her teammates were with them again.
The three remaining shapes were Ezreal, Jarvan IV and Katarina. Katarina and Ezreal teleported themselves forward whenever they were able to but Jarvan IV was still fast enough to keep up with them. Unlike Ezreal who was just as drained as Soraka and Janna, Kata still had energy left but she couldn't take one more hit or she would die. Out of her character she fled along with her teammates, the two knives clutching in her hands. Her red hair fluttered in the wind as Kata ran towards the two women with hopelessness in her green eyes. She knew that she would never win this fight.
Ezreal eventually stopped teleporting because he was out of energy. The fight before has taken everything out of him that's why he couldn't do more than to depend on Janna and Soraka to get him out of the range of the enemies. His blonde hair hid his eyes that looked to the floor. He clenched his teeth. When Ezreal thought about his amulet and the fact that he wasn't able to help his team he wanted to scream out but that wouldn't help now. He has to get back to their territory under the turret. Not until then they will be safe.
The last one was Jarvan IV. The royal Lightshield had the most health and stayed behind everyone else to protect them from getting damage. Still he knew they wouldn't manage to get under the turret before the enemies overtake them. When he looked at the four mates in front of him he saw the desperation and anger about their helplessness in their eyes. All of them fought with all their might but it still wasn't enough. No one can handle so much frustration about the own power.
Jarvan knew he was the one with the most energy and he would be able to make one strike. Even Janna, the storm's fury, wasn't able to cast one little blast of air. And he? His golden armor and lance would help him to survive 3.5 seconds but that was all he needed. When their haunters were in range and close together he had to act.
"Run!" Jarvan roared to his teammates as he turned around and jumped amidst the enemies. The force of this impact terraformed the surroundings and created an arena around them. He saw his teammates look back one moment and the look in their eyes made his heart shatter. None of them belonged to his homeland and Kata was actually one of his enemies but they were his teammates and Jarvan would do anything to save them. How could he rule a whole country when he isn't even able to help his friends?
They still ran towards the turret and Jarvan barely saw them reaching their territory before the five enemies killed him. His body fell to the ground and the arena melted into thin air. Under the turret Janna, Soraka, Kata and Ezreal watched the whole scene with sad eyes.
"He was a good guy. He didn't deserve it," Soraka said with anger in her voice. She entered the world of mortals to fight the evil that threatens life in Valoran yet she couldn't do anything to help Jarvan. She felt so helpless.
"Even though I come from Noxus and he from Demacia I hate that he died over there so that we can save ourselves. I wasn't even able to help him, how's that fair? And now I owe him one," Kata said with glittering eyes as she watched the enemies approach them. They laughed and pointed with their weapons at them, some even danced. The four remaining of the team were clever enough to stay out of their range.
"I have enough energy to attack at least once," Ezreal informed his teammates. He also was angry that he couldn't help Jarvan, the formerly playfulness in his eyes was replaced by determination and the smile was gone. He targeted at the five people in front of him with his amulet. "It's time for a true display of skill!"
"You're right, let the bloodshed begin!" Kata walked to him and stood by his side the blades brandished as she fixated the enemies and made a move, ready to attack them.
"Guys, wait! We are all exhausted we can't fight!" Soraka said loudly and tried to pull Kata back but she just shook her off.
"No, I've made my choice," she said without losing sight of her targets.
"Janna, help me!" Soraka turned around to look at Janna who was absent with closed eyes and only said a soft, "Wait a moment."
"Why?" Kata turned around angrily. "Only fools hesitate!"
"Wait... let them attack us," Janna said opening her eyes. Everyone watched the other team carefully which prepared do dive under the turrent. Suddenly a big blue monster dug into the floor and came towards them which heralded the start of the fight.
"Now!"Janna suddenly flashed behind the five enemies and created a strong monsoon. The other team was thrown behind Soraka, Kata and Ezreal who just felt a soothing wind that healed their injuries. Now the enemies were in their territory and got damage the whole time while the four survivors blocked their way out of it. Soraka pointed with her moonshaped wand at them, ready to cast her spells. Ezreal did the same with his amulet and Kata clutched tighter her blades. Janna in the background made herself ready to support her team with all her might.
After a second the two teams stormed towards each other and the slaughtering began.
