~TRUE COLORS~
"What happened in there?" Asks Roman as Valarie walks out sipping her ice coffee.
"We just talked. So hop off." She tells him heading for the bathroom with her bag. Roman followed closely behind and stopped her before she went in.
With arms folded she pursed her lips as he gave her a little glare. "What's that on your neck?"
Slapping his hand away, Valarie frowns and replied, "What part of 'Hop off' did you not understand? You are beginning to act like a prison ward than a bodyguard."
"It just seems like you did more than just talk." He says looking at her neck with his nose a bit flared.
She dragged him the bathroom slamming the coffee in the sink and pulled a needle from her hair, aiming it directly at his throat.
"I should kill you." She spat at Roman who didn't even move but watched her give an menacing, scary glare. "I love him and you know that. I should kill you for trying to make me choose. I should kill you for trying to manipulate me."
"We have made that all clear a couple weeks ago. I understand that you hate me, Raqisa." He pushed her back into the sink, making her fall along with the needle and hit the ground. Valarie didn't move because his foot held her down, heel in her upper back as a few tears escaped her eyes. Roman keeled down to her ear, whispering. "What are you going to do about it?"
The truth was, Valarie was afraid. She had become afraid of Roman. The training was more enforced and it was like she had to or she would die. Killing Damian wasn't what she wanted but she slowly found herself giving up that fight.
Being with Damian was what made her happy.
He lifted his foot off her back and said, "Wether you want to or not Raqisa, you will kill Damian. I'll torture the hell out of him that all of Gotham will hear his screams. You'll want to put him out of his misery."
"I hate you." She mutters, her voice shaking as tears fell onto the floor. "I'll never forgive you, you asshole!"
"I can't have your forgiveness. If I am to be the picture of what you hate, then so be it, Raqisa. Know this, I am the only reason you are still alive you need me way more then I need you. Remember that."
With a gust of wind and slamming of the door, Roman was gone.
Valarie didn't hold back anymore and just cried. Face still in the hard floor she cried.
Crying seemed to be the only thing she could do. He was right about her needing him . Roman was someone she didn't recognize and it hurt her to see him in that way. He used to be kind and understanding . He was a monster under her bed, the constant pain in her back, the itch she just couldn't scratch. Valarie didn't know how to defend herself against him. All she could do was threaten him and pray that one day she would find the courage to kill him.
◇Damian POV◇
"Val? Val?" I go around looking for her and decided to check the bathroom.
Knocking I see her open it and a smile is on her face. "Sorry, I had to cover my neck." She giggled and I nodded slowly.
"Uh huh...Garrett fixed our problem. We are having a board meeting and they need you to sign off on a few things."
"Ok. Give me like two seconds." She nods
I feel like something is wrong and I don't know what. I see it in her eyes and she is grinning through it like it's nothing which is disturbing. "Val?" He body turns to me. "Is everything alright? Are you alright? If I upset you by saying no to having-"
"No amante." She shakes her head. "Its not that, I promise. I respect your decision whole heartedly."
"But it is something."
"Damian...I'm fine ok? Don't worry about me, you are going to drive yourself mad."
"Right of course." I nod "Are you free tonight? It occurred to me that I haven't taken you on a proper date because of how busy we are and I want to spend time with you outside the office and talking on the phone. "
"That would be great."
"I'll come and get you-"
"Just text me the address. I might be running a bit late. I have to look over the inventory and get some more point shoes. I kind of broke in the last five pairs and they aren't as durable anymore. "
"Yeah sure."
I am going to tell her tonight. Everything so there aren't any surprises. I've waited far to long.
It's time to come clean.

Third Person
Valarie was surprised that Roman was no where in site to stop him. Or hear the conversation for that matter.
She tried her best to avoid him which was hard because he was always there.
He eyed her and she could feel it as she worked during the day. Acting normal was hard when all she thought about was what happened in the bathroom. Roman really did frighten her and she realized that he was never going to protect her.
He never cared about her safety. But what really made body ache with fear was, what would happen afterwards? Would he kill her? Did the Prime want her for something else?
Damian on the other hand, had no idea what was going on in her clouded mind. He watched her during the meeting and just imagined what she'd wear to their date tonight. He was looking forward to it.
He wanted their relationship out in the open. Damian didn't like having to wait until everyone was gone just to sneak a kiss or give her a compliment about how pretty she looked. He wanted her on his arm and wanted the media to know as well.
The suspicion would cease and being able to hold hands in public and kiss in public wouldn't be so bad.
Valarie was his. His angel and he started to develop the sense that he'd do anything to protect her. What is that feeling? Is it love?
Is this what Jason was talking about? Caring for someone so deeply because of how emotionally connected you are to them, that you'd do anything to keep them safe?
Was it love?
He wanted to slap himself, because loving someone was something he never experienced. Besides family love, Damian had no idea what love was. What if it turned out to be love and what if Valarie didn't feel the same way.
I know this update sucks....
