Laura's POV :

What was I thinking?

I couldn't even understand my own actions.....

Over the years, I learned the hard way.
The only way of not getting hurt is pretending that you don't have a heart.
Because people never tortures a heartless creature.

I don't understand him either.

When I first started studying here at Doncaster, some tried to talk to me, some ignored me, some tried to flirt and some were bullies. Over the last 2 years, I managed to crawl out of all the attentions.

But I've never seen anyone like him.

He was the only person who kept pushing me to talk to him, even if it's an argument, no matter how much I shut him out.

I despised him. I really did.

But when I saw him like that, being beaten..........I had a strange urge to protect him.

And it was something I haven't felt in years.

I sighed as I wiped the uncontrollable tears trailing down my cheeks. I hugged myself, hoping that the oversized hoodie I'm wearing will provide me with warmth.

I buried my face with my hands, hoping the warmth of that hoodie will shield me from the cruel,merciless world.
