Laura's POV :

I was flabbergasted when I opened the door to find Lily standing in front of it.

"Lily?" I whispered, "Come in!"

"How are you, Laura?" She asked me before flopping on the sofa.

I stayed silent for a while.

How was I?

For the last few weeks, I was devastated. I cried myself to sleep and even the thought of leaving him made me feel like I couldn't breath properly. The only thing that made me feel better was thinking his life would be easier without me being a part of it......

"I- I guess I'm okay." I finally replied, breaking the long pause.
Lily nodded, and I could feel that she realised I wasn't okay at all.

She gestured me to sit next to her.
"Laura, do you remember anything from last night?"

"I- I remember going to the club.... and-" I took a deep breath,"I remember Louis - and that.... he was crying..."

"He brought you here."
"I know." I said shakily.

"He cares a lot about you." Lily said slowly.
"I know that too."

"Then why- why don't you-" She started. I held out a hand, cutting her off, "It's not possible. He is much better without me."

"What? Laura, can you tell me what actually happened? You guys were great friends, what changed all of a sudden?"

"Ikissdim."
"You what?"
"Well...." I took a deep breath before finally whispering, "I kissed him."

"Oh...kay..." Lily trailed, "And don't you think you should talk to him about it, instead of ignoring like a plague?"

"No...I was about to.... But then....I saw him kissing Zoe-"
"What the flying fuck of a fucking fuck??!!" Lily exclaimed.

I just nodded, unable to form my thoughts into words...

"But....Laura, was Louis the one who kissed her?"

I thought about it for a while. I remember seeing Zoe smirking before she kissed - him....

"No."
"There you go." Lily smiled, "You and I both know he'd never do that to you."

"But he shouldn't be stuck with someone like me! He deserves better...."

"That's not true. Look, I know that life wasn't easy to either of you. But you two complete each other. I've never seen either of you this happy ever before......"

"But I don't know if I can.....I'm not strong enough to face him now....."

"Oh honey, I completely understand your side."
"You - you do?" I asked.

She smiled, nodding.
"Come here."

As I pulled her in a tight hug, I couldn't control my tears from falling. She ran her fingers through my hair as I sobbed in her arms.....

"Shh.....It's gonna be okay.....I'm here...we all are here...." She whispered in my ear, slowly rocking me in her arms......

And for the first time, I found myself trusting her words.....
