Laura's POV :

I was staring at the closet in front of me blankly, for the last 15 minutes, thinking why I agreed.

The conversation of last night flashed  in my mind.

"You have to come Laura! Everyone is coming. It is gonna be so much fun!" Louis exclaimed.

"But.... I have never participated in these days....I can't show up on the earth day."

"You can Laura, and you will. Please, make an exception. It will be so much fun, really....."

I smiled at the memory. I took out a green dress out of my closet, instead of the oversized hoodies I always wear.......

A smile painted on my lips as I looked at the mirror.

Louis won't be able to notice the difference tho.......

I shook my head and tried to forget it as I headed outside.

Laura's dress

After I stepped into the school, I  noticed that I was early and the school was still half empty. I was roaming aimlessly, but then, a familiar voice startled me.

"Jesy!?" I gasped, "How are you?What are you doing here?"

"Laura? I'm fine, I'm here for the art competition.....How are you? How is Scar? I haven't seen you guys in years." Jesicca exclaimed.

She looked really pretty, with her long hair tied in a ponytail....
Would Scarlett look really pretty too, like an angel, if she was still alive?

"Laura? How's Scarlett?" The 13 year old girl further asked me.

"She's no more, Jesy." I replied in a shaky voice. I couldn’t bear the thought of meeting someone who knew the past Laura, who knew Scarlett, after so long.....

"What?" The air felt heavy as her eyes teared up, "But....I don't understand....I'm so sorry......"

"I - Excuse me." With tears blurring my vision, I rushed away. I stumbled in a empty classroom, with tears running down my cheeks.

Louis's POV:

"Guys, have you seen Laura?"
My friends glanced at me as I asked them.

"Tommo, she never attends this programmes.... so I think she didn't come." Liam replied.

"No, it's not possible....She told me she'd come." I replied. I tried calling her number, but she wasn’t taking her calls.

"Guys, I'll go check." I said as I raced upstairs.

As I ran through the hallway, I suddenly heard a familiar, faint sound of muffled sobbing.

I followed the sound and it led me to an empty classroom. I sat on the ground, in front of her, but I guess she didn’t notice me.

"Laura?" I asked.

Suddenly, 2 pairs of arms wrapped around my neck and pulled me in a hug.

She buried her face in my chest. She was trembling as she held onto me like her life was depending on me.

"Shh. Everything will be okay." I whispered underneath my breath.

I put my arms around her as well.
I could feel my shirt getting wet from the teardrops. My heart broke at her vulnerable state.

"Louis Tomlinson, Laura Stone and Zoe Sniggder."

I heard our names being called on the stage for winning the prize contest, but I didn’t care. Rather, I held her close, wishing I could shield her from the world......
