Louis's POV :

"Hey Laura, don't you have a free period now? Wanna head to the school field?"

"Mhm." She responded as we started walking down the hallway.

Me and Laura have gotten pretty close in the past few weeks.

After having known Laura for a bit now, I was sure there was much more to her than she was letting on.

I took out my phone and earphones. I put them on as we took seats under the tree in the field.

"Wait.....are you listening to The Fray?" Laura suddenly gasped.

"Yes...The Fray is my fav band."

"Mine too..." She trailed.

"Really?" I got excited,"Have you listened to their recent album?"

"Umm....actually....I stopped listening to music...since..uh-" She shifted uncomfortably.

"Hey it's fine....you don't have to talk about anything you don't want to." I assured.

She got quiet again. I took off one of my earphones and passed it to her.

"Here, listen to my fav song from their newest album."

She hesitantly took the earphone. Her laugh ringed in my ear as she started listening to the song.

And I found myself getting lost in her soft giggles......

Laura's POV :

Songs? I haven’t listen to music in ages....

"Hey, take it. You'll love this song, believe me."

I hesitantly took the earphone from his hands. His fingertips brushed with mine and I found myself blushing at the contact.

When I start listening to music, I felt... Happiness....

And that was something I haven’t felt in years....

Maybe because a part of me still thinks I don’t deserve anything good in this world........

But for the first time, I brushed my thoughts off as I concentrated on the music.

Peals of laughter burst from deep within my heart as I lost myself in the music.....

Later that day, I found myself in front of that room.

The place which used to be my favourite place of the house.....

My music room.

I slowly made my way to the piano.

I took a deep breath as I sat at the edge of the bench. I looked down at the piano as my fingers glide over the keys.

And then..... I started playing the piano. The familiar sound flooded the room. I felt the music seep into my body slowly and spread throughout my veins. 

I was playing scarlett's favorite song, after all...the song I sang to her whenever she couldn’t sleep....

Tears were falling freely from my eyes at her memories as I flicked my fingers on the familiar piano keys....
