"Oh man... What happened?"
Conner rubbed the side of his head.

"You got shot by a gun that takes away your powers."
Alexia replied.

"What?!?!? My powers are gone?!?!?"

Conner and Del had been brought back to the Avengers Building and had been placed in the Medical Bay.

Alexia had come in to check on Conner only to find him finally awake.

And now Conner was losing it.

"How can my powers be gone? I need my speed! I am speed! Without my speed I'm nothing!"

"You can still shoot a bow can't you?"
Alexia reminded him.

"Yeah, but now I have nothing else. I'm just like Hawkeye now.
Great."

Alexia rolled her eyes.

"Honestly Conner, it's not that bad."

"Easy for you to say. You still have your powers."

Alexia grabbed his hand and gave it a squeeze.

"We're gonna get your powers back, and catch that creep. I promise."

Conner smiled.

Alexia blushed and let go of his hand.

I'm smiling like an idiot.

She looked at Conner again.

My gosh why does he have to be so cute?

"How's my best bud doing?"
Skyler walked into the room and stood beside Conner's bed.

"Better now."
Conner narrowed his eyes at her.

"Why are you never around when I need you?"

"Why do you always get into trouble when I'm not around?"

She ruffled his hair.

"Aw come on Sky! My hair's my best feature!"

"Seriously Conner, do I always have to keep an eye on you?"

"I can look after myself just fine."

"Right, says the guy who just got his powers stolen."

Conner's smile faded.

Skyler punched him gently in the shoulder.

"Don't worry buddy. We're going to get that guy, and when we do I'll beat the living daylights out of him. Then we'll get your powers back."

Conner smiled.

"I know you will."

Alexia didn't know why but she suddenly felt jealous.

Skyler messed up Conner's hair again.

"We'll let you rest buddy. Bruce'll be in here later to check on you."

Skyler motioned for Alexia to follow her.

Conner waved.

"See ya later Alexia."

She blushed.
"See ya."

They left the room and closed the door behind them.

"So how long have you been crushing on Conner?"
Skyler asked slipping her headphones on.

"How long have I been what?"
Alexia asked.

"You know, how long have you been making goo-goo eyes at Connner?"

"I haven't been making goo-goo eyes at Conner!"

"Keep telling yourself that darling."

Skyler pulled out a pack of gum and popped two pieces into her mouth.

She offered one to Alexia.

"What about you?"
Alexia asked taking the piece.

"What about me?"

"You and Conner seem pretty close."
She narrowed her eyes.

"Whoa back up girl!"

Skyler put both her hands up and stopped walking.

"You think that me and Conner are together or something?"

"A... Yeah. You two are inseperable."

"First off. Ew. Why would I have a crush on Conner? That's just weird. Second, why would I waste my time having a crush on someone?"

"What do you mean? Don't you want to find someone?"
Alexia asked.

"Well yeah, but not right now. I'm only sixteen Alexia. I don't need a boyfriend."

"But will you eventually?"
Alexia asked.
"Like when you're seventeen?"

"What is wrong with all you people? Why is everyone always bugging me about getting a boyfriend? I'll know the right guy when I see him."

Alexia decided to drop the subject for now.

"So, has anyone figured out how we're going to find this lunatic?"
She asked Skyler.

"Stevie, Papa Tony, and Furry, are working on it."
Skyler replied blowing and popping a bubble with her gum.

"You seem pretty calm. You're not worried about this guy?"

"Eh. Guys in masks don't scare me."

"But what if he takes your powers?"

"I don't have any powers remember?"

"Oh yeah. So what would happen if you got shot with that gun?"

Skyler paused.

"That is a question."

Alexia watched as Skyler entered her, "mind palace."

Which was basically that time when she completely blocked out everything and talked to herself super fast.

Like, "Conner before he lost his powers" fast.

Alexia could barely hear what she was saying.

"Come on my little hobbit! We have work to do!"

Skyler grabbed her hand and dragged her forward.

"Wait, what are we doing?"

"Answering a question that needs to be answered!"

As she pulled her along Alexia wondered what she could possibly be planning in that head of hers.

"So how dangerous is this guy Anthony?"
Steve asked.

"Very dangerous."

"What do you think he's planning?"
Tony asked.

"I don't know."

"What information do you think he stole?"
Fury asked.

"Possibly the location of this facility, and maybe stuff on all the Avengers and SHIELD
agents."

"If he did, what would he be planning?"
Steve asked again.

"Worst case scenario: he plans on stealing everyone's powers, and then killing every person in this building."

Anthony folded his arms and waited for a response.

"That would be bad."
Tony commented.

"He wouldn't stand a chance."
Fury stated.
"He's outnumbered and outmatched."

"I wouldn't be too sure about that."
Steve said.
"He has Conner's speed, and Del's "Force" which he can use at any given time."

"In that case, we all need to be on our guard."
Fury told them.

The others nodded in agreement.

"When this guy comes, and we know he will, we need to be ready."
