Chapter Nineteen

CHAPTER •19

Silvia was furious; they were curious.
It was strange, Mom hasn't  answered her phone. Ariel tried her ultimate best to inform everyone of her condition.

The tense waves of the New York City flew against the shivering bodies and it intensified cold bumps. It was almost freezing cold, that it could have been mistaken for a blizzard.

Her mother, Silvia was sidetracked with the organization, so much she deserted her own daughter.

No one knew what was really going on.

Blood is the thicker than water. These words fit like a norm;Even the smallest of a human  beings, have heard the phrase before.

Sometimes the wounds, we get covered up, always have a way of leaking out. In many cases the fit of anger, the buss and chirp of birds brings more peace  and meaning to ones lives. A family can be a relative but a friend can be a family.

The strong persistent Spring winds blew pass as it danced in glory with already empty trees. It was Spring time in Mid New York. There wasn't anything new, just same old classical season again. The newly empty palm and elm tress, the chill weather and chirping birds.

Ariel tiredly stretched her lazy bones as her body took in the soft soulful chirping of street birds, the hustle and buzz of commuters and most definitely the laid back vibes as the sunlight creeped through the thin creamish white curtains. What a beautiful day? But beneath everything comes a string or chain of sad waves, it was indeed a blessing, only if her poor sister wasn't in the Hospital.

Ariel made her body to the kitchen as she was ready to make breakfast. She looked like a fat cow despite her ridiculously flat tummy. The doctor had advised her to eat a lot of food to build her already skinny body for the blood transfusion.

She did exactly what the doctor instructed and hopefully everything would be fine.

Everything was done to competency and perfection. The fresh strong Jamaican coffee, the harsh browns, the toast, sauted vegetables  and even down to blue berry pancakes. Within minutes the hungry young lady devoured herself in the semi heavy breakfast.

Ariel took a shower, and plaited her gorgeous curly kinky brown hair into two fresh braids and a floral attire.

       ARIEL'S POV.

I felt my pulps hardened as I drove to the Memorial General Hospital; I have never need this nervous in my life. The stop of my white 2016 BMW I8 realization hit like a bad piece of news. Was I really doing this? Does it mean I forgave her? For years and years on I lived in the shadow of my perfect sister; Mercedes was Barbie, if only her Ken had realized that.

A droplet of tear escaped my eyes and rolled on to my thin thighs; My spirit was dampened. She was everything to e everyone; but I was nothing to no one. I hate the bitterness that clung to my heart instead of a rib cage. Oh I wish that one I could be someone different.

My perfect sister needed me; She was my  blood even if I despise to admit. I took a sip of water and stare at my reflection in the tiny mirror. Who really am I? A few untamed strawn of a curl escaped for the French braid, my dips were partly dry. This wasn't me. I missed the coloured wigs from the hot pink to a boring shade of gray and my skimpy attire.

"Do I even know who I am? I questioned myself.

Maybe I should run. Why safe my big sis even when there wouldn't be a single attention on me.

Maybe Mom would be proud, but I am her favourite anyways.

Before I changed my goddammit mind I escaped from my chair and went to the Doctor.
Oh I forgot!!! His charming sweet name.

        •••|

Ariel spat quietly, as anxiety creeped it's way in and nervousness. Would it hurt? Those were the thoughts  that
invaded her mind space.

Doctor Mike walked inside. He was a medium height white man that looked to be in his early thirties and blue eyes a charming yet sarcastic smile.

She stood up and shook his hands. Cold sweats and cold bumps coated her light caramel skin.

'So it's nice to you see miss..."Doctor Mike exchanged pleasantries with his patient's sister as he embarrassingly forgot her name and offered a small smile.

"It's my pleasure doctor, Ariel."

"Yes Miss Ariel, so are you ready?"

"Yea-h Doc-tor. "She stuttered nervously.

Life really has many surprises; who knew that a bad ass, deliquent troubled young lady like her would stutter.

"Well then, let's get you started, I hope you had breakfast and I will take you to the lab and they will take it from there."

As the nervous, anticipating wreck made her way to the laboratory. The images of having a needle pierced into her skin and hooked up to machine scares her to death like a small child.

•••|

Upon her arrival to the small blood bank laboratory in the hospital, They checked her blood pressure, sugar level and  cholesterol, Body mass index (BMI) etc.

The cords of a machine  were attached to her concious body, as she was injected a few times and her body responded pretty  despite her fair and underweight.

A few hours later, the blood transfusion was completed and she was given a special diet to follow for a few months in case to regain all her lost body and energy.

Some how her body felt numb and sensitive; not because of the procedure she went through but a soft spot of love and forgiveness.

Ariel moved her weak bones and muscles to her sisters room, there was a tall dark shadow  hovering by the bed side, She half creeped the white door and left the room before the dark shadow made her out.
