Chapter •14•

The figure of a petite commuter in the midnight of one of the chilliest nights fell to the ground. The figure almost looked lifeless, as the force of the crashing 2011 Toyota hit it's body, its blood poured like a fountain. The poor thing made one last gulp before it went completely unconscious.

Flash back

"Your are a failure just like your dad and that's all you will ever be." Kelvin's mother's harsh words burned the walls of his stone cold heart. His mother  Maria constantly imprinted those words in his mind and like any normal person he would be affected.

He drove careless like a mad man ;the alcohol was all in his system and his mind was clouded  with everything. His mind wandered to the curly goddess that resembled his angel Mercedes. Were they twins? Are they relatives? If so they are so different?
His mind was out of space so was his hands, he lifted off the brakes for a quick second and his car had hit a freaking car not just any car one of the latest porche.

He pressed on the brakes so hard but it was too late.

Nothing could have stopped it.

Oh shit.

Within seconds the speeds of both the cars collided like ingredients on a recipe.

On one of the coldest night, the sirens from police cars and ambulances.

He watched keenly as the petite physique was escorted from the another vehicle. She looked weak but only jerked up a bit nothing serious.
The young woman looked familiar but his mind just couldn't put a hold on the person.

Kelvin slowly opened his door ;as he creeped out carefully not getting splinters on his body. He didn't care of the large opening on his left arm as thick blood dripped down his devastated body.

Everywhere was all in ruins, angry and frustrated commuters trying to get through the situation, the medical team, police officers and just the crowd.

Oh no!

The ambulance quickly removed the body from the road and was placed on a stretcher and looked completely lifeless; the figure was escorted to the hospital.b

The police signaled for both the drivers to give their statements.
Mercedes and Kelvin moved to his direction.

He was speechless and she was angry. They were both astonished to what they had done well more in particular Kelvin, they almost killed someone.

"Mercedes you?"He spat at his son's teacher as he ignored the police officer.

"Yeah, Kelvin."She scarcastically  replied with hints of disappointment.

"So I can see you both know each other."The police officer started. A small frown appeared around their cheeks as they nodded their heads yes.

"Well, may I have your name and address. "

"Mercedes Gray, and  suburbs 22 Manhatten. "

"Kelvin Johansen, Downtown New York."

"Well I will see you both at the Station tommorow and get to the hospital young folks."

The police officer in his early fifties advised as he disappeared in the dark.

Mercedes P.O.V.

"I guess we are stuck right."I spoke to him. He held his head down as he shivered like a little girl in the cold breeze. The blood poured down his ruined sleeves and his hair was wild as a cat, he was broken.

I moved a bit closer to him as I touched his side, making him lifted his head a bit. As much as I was angry, and my blood was boiling hot: My senses couldn't allow me to curse him.

"It's not your fault."I gently muttered to him as I continued.

"Okay, I was driving carelessly and I assume you were drunk and look you couldn't have stopped it, it's going to be okay. "

His ego was high and he didn't settled for anyone's love, pity or assistance. I knew that he was a man and he could provide for his den; but sometimes he does need a little bit of help.

"I almost killed a innocent person
." For the second time I saw a beast, a grown man cry.

"No you didn't, we both did."

"But, I will go to prison."

"Don't worry about it, my mom will take care of everything."

His large arms engulfed my figure as we stood still in the midnight. His touch was warm and held millions of emotions. He was wounded and I had his medicines.
