Chapter Eighteen
CHAPTER •18 / REVISED.
Her unconscious body laid on the streets. The thick red liquid covered the streets like a second cover. Her phone buzzed in her pocket like a annoying alarm clock and went unanswered.
•••
Her mother Silvia was trying her best to get to her. All her WhatsApp messages and dms went unread. She was like a panicking wildcat and didn't even know what's wrong.
She knew what she did but it was too late. Some mistakes will never teach a lesson; just like this one.
•••
Kelvin had made it around the third Street , his instinct respond with fear of a tragedy, with every blood cell in his body; he knew there was a tidal wave nearby; he left the driver's seat and went towards the scene. It was serene no noise, like everything was in perfect harmony. It was a upper class neighborhood and the act was carried out so immaculate that it would be difficult to suspect something.
Her coily goldlocks curls flowed along her shoulder in her sweats. She looked pale as snow and fragile as a egg. Kelvin's heart mended and twisted into broken pieces.
She looked lifeless.
He swiftly checked her pulse and breathing; she was alive but didn't have much time.
Kelvin picked her up gently in bridal style not wanting to hurt her. Eve was placed vertically in the passenger's seat and he speed off to the nearest hospital.
He was a monster but how could they touch his angel.
Every cell in his body was like a raging bull. He had to find out who did this. His driving was reckless and yet so professional like an ambulance driver in no time he arrived at the hospital.
Eve had lost so much blood that you wonder if she will survive.
•••
Ariel sat on the leather couch as she sipped her fine French red wine. She was calm, relaxed and carefree as she went on her Netflix marathon. She didn't even care that her sister hasn't returned.
Her eyes were fixed on the television screen; she didn't even flinched to the breeze that blew.
Trouble was uninvited, unexpected and unnecessary, yet it had to occur at some time like a virus.
They didn't have a perfect relationship but there was still some love.
•••
The buzzing device moved around the couch as it vibrated and waited for an answer. Ariel placed the phone on speaker.
The news she heard held everything; joy, happiness and sadness.
"Is this Ariel Gray? The hospital receptionist inquired.
"Yes, How may I help you? "
"Are you related to Mercedes Gray ? The health officer questioned.
"Yes. What's the problem?"
"She has been shot and needs surgery, so you have to get to the hospital now."
She was lost of words as a tiny droplet dripped like dew.
Everything was going quite perfect; yet it couldn't last.
