Hidden
The night hides danger
In its stifling cloak, it holds those mysteries
which make us shiver with fright.
Behind a curtain of repressive black fog,
I can only watch as fangs, teeth, and claws
hack apart the truth of the sunlight.
I love the night;
nothing could keep me from the starlight,
watching the world crumble
beneath cosmic fist
I thrive here, where others die,
allowing the empty landscape to rejuvenate
my tired form; sight drains me
when I would rather close my eyes
and simply feel my way forward
I grow weary of the garish glow
of others' judgements, shortsightedness,
observations upon a tarnished mirror,
while only some of us
have truly learned to look
behind a wall of pure blackness -
pure, unadulterated blindness
and begin to find the sunset,
glowing on the horizon...
The night hides me
