Episode 5: Roses

A lack of a good night's rest was becoming all too familiar to Milinda and she wasn't enjoying it in the slightest.

The frightening image of Fred's hands neatly tucked into that box not only haunted her dreams but the moments she was awake. Every time she closed her eyes that sick and twisted version of a gift was all she could see and nothing she did could take it away from her. Nothing she did, nothing that anybody said to her could cleanse her mind of the horror she saw.

A crime that was indirectly her fault. There was no denying that Fred's blood was on her hands as much as it was staining that of the man who murdered him. A man who murdered him to try make her happy.

The quietness of the night was suddenly broken by small cries that resonated from Kylie. Worried for her daughter Milinda quickly turned to her. Kylie stood out in the darkness in her bright pink onesie, her face was contorted in fear and her little arms were thrashing around. This went on for about a minute before she screamed one last time and woke up.

"Mommy," she wailed, tears streaming down her face.

Milinda picked Kylie up and huddled her to her chest. "Oh, my little angel, did you have a bad dream?" Milinda asked.

Kylie nodded and burried her head between her mother's neck and shoulder. Warm tears dripped onto Milinda's skin and rolled under her shirt.

"What was it about?"

"I no no," Kylie mumbled trying her best to say she didn't know.

Milinda gently rubbed her daughter's back while the little girl continued to cry. Eventually, she stopped crying and the only sound that could be heard in the small bedroom was small hiccups that were coming from Kylie.

"Listen, sweetie, you don't have to worry about bad dreams because that is all they are, they can't hurt you. Besides, if dreams were capable of hurting people Mommy would never let them harm you," Milinda whispered.

Kylie looked up at her mom with a shy smile.

"Really?"

"Oh yeah, Mommy would kick the dreams butt." Milinda smiled.

Kylie giggled at her mother's playfulness but a few seconds later a sleepy yawn swallowed the laughter. She raised her small hands and wiped her eyes with her tiny fingers.

"Come on, let's get some sleep."

Kylie eagerly nodded her head, so Milinda quickly tucked her back under the duvet and planted a small kiss on both of her cheeks.

"Night Mommy," Kylie yawned and drifted back to sleep.

"Night baby," Milinda whispered and with no more strength to stay awake she fell asleep too.

* * * *

Sleep didn't come easy for Shawn. It never did anyway, growing up in a house as he did would give anyone nightmares and sleep issues.

However, tonight his dreams weren't the only thing keeping him up, the letter he had received from Milinda's stalker had a role to play.

It wasn't because he was scared of the note, nothing that was written on that piece of paper made him nervous. If anything the note only made him more determined to solve the case.

Being close to Milinda had turned the stalker's attention onto him as well, and Shawn was planning to use this to his full advantage.

Immediately after he read it for the first time he took it up to his home office where he started to examine it with a fine tooth comb. After he had examined it for the tenth time he finally found a clue that could help solve the case.

The top right corner of the paper had a watermark, it was the logo of the store where it was purchased or at least ordered from.

He recognized it instantly from an invitation to a coworker's wedding a few years ago.

Paper Source.

He decided that first thing in the morning he and Camila will go to the store and get the purchase order and hopefully some security footage but for now, he needed to try and get some sleep.

Even though he knew it was pointless he at least needed to try.

Milinda was genuinely surprised and ecstatic to hear rain when she woke up. After so many scorching hot days the gentle patter of the rain hitting the ground was a delight to hear and for the first time in a while, she felt at peace.

This tranquil state of peace was momentarily ruined when she saw that Kylie wasn't next to her, but when she heard giggling coming from across the room by the window she once again felt relieved and relaxed.

Smiling she rolled over in her bed and quietly watched as Kylie giggled and followed a few of the large droplets that were rolling down the window with her finger.

Kylie didn't notice that her mother was awake, she was much too focused on the rain, and as much as Milinda enjoyed watching her and her fascination with the weather she had to ruin the moment because they had to get ready for the day ahead of them.

"Morning sweetie," she greeted her with a smile.

Kylie excitingly spun around and smiled at her mom. "Mommy rain!" she squealed pressing her finger against the window.

"It's beautiful isn't it."

"Yeah."

Knock!

Knock!

Knock!

Milinda jumped as the loud bangs from the door echoed through her apartment. Even though she knew there was little chance that it would be her stalker that didn't stop the thought from running circles in her mind.

"Stay here sweetie," she sternly told Kylie who nodded in acknowledgment her attention still glued to the rain falling outside.

Milinda hurried out of bed and cautiously walked to the door, every step she took was filled with nervous energy and fear.

Knock!

Knock!

Knock!

"Coming!" Milinda yelled, even with the threat of the person behind the door being her stalker she was still getting annoyed.

She practically threw open the door ready for a fight but when she saw it was only a delivery man who was drenched from head to toe she decided against it. Not only because she felt bad for the man but because her attention was now focused on the two bouquets of roses in his hands. Roses and a snow-white envelope with red splashes on it in the shape of rose petals.

"Milinda Johnson?" the man unenthusiastically asked her.

A pit was forming in her stomach and tears started to pool around her eyes.

"Yes," she replied, doing her best to keep her voice from shaking. She didn't want to break down in front of this random stranger.

"These are for you," he yawned handing her the roses and envelope.

"You need to sign these forms." He thrusted the clipboard and a pen into her free hand.

Milinda looked down at the form hoping that she might see the name of whoever sent these to her, but this proved futile for there wasn't a single detail of the person who sent it to her on the form. That didn't mean that the form wouldn't be useful to Shawn so she figured that the least she should do was get a copy of it.

"Sure and I'll need to take a picture of this form," she told the man who looked at her like she was crazy. "It's for a police investigation," she explained to him and for the first time since she had set eyes on him he looked at her with more than disdain, he looked worried and sorry for her.

"Do whatever you need to do but do it fast I'm freezing my ass off," the man groaned, apparently not even his worry for her could fix his attitude.

Not wanting to make him stand there any longer Milinda quickly signed the form, took a picture of it, and then handed the clipboard and pen back to the grumpy delivery man.

"Have a good day," he grumbled and then ran back to his van and drove away.

Even though all she wanted to do was break down and start crying Milinda knew she had to get help over here as soon as possible.

With shaky hands, she closed and locked the door. She rushed to the kitchen and placed the roses and the envelope on the counter.

Her fingers moved like lightning as she typed and sent messages to both Shawn and Akhona telling them that they needed to come over immediately.

Less than five minutes later she heard a knock at the front door.

Milinda rushed to the door and quickly opened it, as soon as she did that Akhona flung her arms around her and gave her a soul-crushing hug.

"Did you tell the detective?" she frantically asked.

"Yes, he should be on his way," Milinda whispered her voice shaking with every word she spoke.

"Let's go to the living room," Akhona suggested.

After she closed and locked the door Akhona lead Milinda into the living room and pulled her onto the couch, the soft pillows caught their fall.

"Why is this happening to me?" Milinda sobbed, the tears she had been holding back were now pouring down her cheeks.

"I don't know honey but I'm sure your detective friend will solve this case fast. Life will go back to normal soon." Akhona tried to reassure her.

Milinda smiled at her friend's kind words. She wasn't sure how much she believed them but that didn't mean she wasn't appreciative.

"Thank you."

The two women stayed in the living room talking about random topics for another ten minutes waiting for Shawn to arrive.

* * * *

"Oh my God, what did you do then?" Milinda asked, completely enthralled in another one Akhona's crazy stories about her childhood. Because those were the only stories Akhona had about her childhood.

Akhona grinned mischievously.

"I went to the party anyway. Needless to say, my mom was not impressed with me," she laughed.

Milinda smiled. "I can imagine."

Akhona slumped back against the couch and rested a pillow against her stomach.

"Can I ask you a question?" she asked.

Milinda nodded.

"Why have you never talked about your childhood?"

It was an innocent question but that didn't stop a pit from forming in Milinda's stomach and her breath from catching in her throat. She was never someone who wanted to talk about her family or her past because it was a sensitive topic. Let's just say becoming a parent at a young age wasn't the only thing that showed Milinda that the world wasn't an easy place.

"There just isn't much to say about it." She shrugged, hoping that Akhona would take the hint and steer the topic away from the past.

"Oh come on I'm sure that's not true. Just one story please," Akhona begged while giving her puppy eyes.

Knock!

Knock!

Knock!

"I'll get it." Milinda jumped off the couch and rushed to the door.

"This conversation isn't over!" Akhona called out to her but she kept her focus on getting to the door.

She quickly unlocked the door and as soon as she pulled it open Shawn rushed in drenched from the rain that had been pouring like crazy.

"Where the hell did all that rain come from?" he laughed and shook raindrops off his light brown leather jacket.

She knew that her focus should be on the case and giving Shawn the new items she was sent but Milinda couldn't help but think about how sexy he looked at that moment.

His clean and freshly shaved face combined with the raindrops glistening in his hair momentarily took her breath away.

However, she quickly regained her composure when she watched his relaxed manner being replaced by a professional and serious one.

"Where is the package?" he asked.

"In the kitchen," Milinda replied and ushered Shawn and Akhona (who had joined them from the living room) into the kitchen.

Shawn moved ahead of the two women and as soon as he reached the counter he started to examine the roses.

Even though they had been sent by a stalker Milinda couldn't help but be dazzled by the gorgeous flowers. They have always been her favourite type of flower and no matter the situation she almost had to admire them.

"Why two bouquets?" Akhona asked.

Shawn looked up at her and shook his head, he was also puzzled by the recent gift.

"I have no idea." He turned his attention away from Akhona and toward Milinda, "The one has twenty-eight roses while the other only has six, do those numbers mean anything to you?"

Twenty-eight and six. Twenty-eight and six. Twenty-eight and six. She didn't understand why the bouquets were different sizes but she knew they had to mean something she just didn't know what that was.

Not yet anyway.

"No not off the top of my head."

"That's okay it will come to you later," he said with a smile. "Do you have a copy of the form you had to sign?"

"I took a picture I'll send it to you." Milinda took out her phone and sent the picture to Shawn.

Meanwhile, Shawn opened the envelope and unfolded the note.

"Roses for my love."

"Well, that's not creepy," Akhona sarcastically mumbled under her breath.

"I don't want them."

Both Akhona and Shawn nodded in understanding.

"I'll take them to the district," Shawn said, he figured that maybe seeing them at his desk would give him more motivation to solve the case.

"Do you guys have anything, any evidence that could help lead you to this monster?" Akhona asked, much like her friend she was desperate for this man to be caught.

Milinda was her girl and she hated seeing her so nervous and sleep-deprived all because some man thinks she belonged to him.

"I do have a clue."

This shocked both women and they were both eager to hear more.

"Last night I received a letter from the stalker and the paper still had a watermark of the logo of the store where it was brought. So today my partner and I will head to the store and find a purchase order or get some security footage of the man who bought it."

"You got a letter?" Milinda gasped.

She didn't like Shawn that was common knowledge. Most days she found him arrogant, annoying, and far too flirtatious but that didn't mean she wanted him to get hurt or worse. She didn't want the same thing that happened to Fred to happen to him.

He nodded his head, this simple action sent Milinda back into the pit of despair and she burst into tears. She reached out and grabbed the nearest chair, her legs turned to jelly and she sunk onto the seat.

"What's wrong?" Shawn asked.

He hated seeing her cry, he hated that she was in so much pain and that he had made it worse by telling her about the letter. He wanted to go to her and provide her some comfort but he wasn't there as a friend or anything more than that. He had a job to do, this was a professional relationship and he had to keep it that way despite their past or any feelings he had for her.

"This is exactly what I was afraid of," Milinda sobbed into her hands.

Akhona rushed to Milinda and wrapped her arms around her small frame.

"Listen to me you don't have to worry the detective can handle himself, right?"

"Fuck yeah," Shawn replied with a small smirk that he couldn't hold back.

"Language please Kylie could hear you." Milinda unexpectedly snapped at him.

"Okay sorry," Shawn chuckled.

* * * *

It was hard for him to watch the detective walk out of the apartment with the roses that he had bought for Milinda. He had hoped that she would keep them not only because he knew they were her favourite flower but because of the significance of the bouquets.

She didn't see their meaning yet but he knew she would eventually. One day everything he did and will do for her would make sense.

That first try with the flowers didn't go as planned that was fine, depressing but fine he still had more surprises coming.

This was hardly the end

* * * *

Back at the district, Camila was getting nowhere with footage of a suspect. She had managed to find out that one of Fred's neighbours had a security system that included cameras on the outside of her house. So he got a court order and had the women send her a copy of the footage from the day Fred was murdered.

So ever since she got in this morning she was glued to her computer screen analyzing the footage frame by frame trying to see this man's face. There was a clear shot of him walking up to Fred's door but he did a good job of hiding his face.

However, the failure with the security footage wasn't the only thing that was frustrating her. Almost every minute since the moment she met her Camila couldn't stop thinking about Akhona.

Those mud-brown eyes and flawless angelic skin along with her radiating smile and captivating attitude made getting her out of her mind impossible.

Luckily for her at this moment she had a loud partner who just loved to drop things on his desk to distract her. This time it wasn't a stack of paper or a folder stacked with so many appears it made her head hurt just looking at them it was two bouquets of roses.

"Is that a gift from one of your one-night stands?" she joked.

"Nope, the stalker sent these to Milinda this morning."

"Great we can add it to the small amount of evidence we have on this guy," she scoffed.

"I'm guessing the security footage isn't going well." Shawn leaned forward on the desk and looked at her computer screen, the one she had been looking at for over two hours with no success.

"This guy is next-level careful. I mean I can see him walk to the front door but he never shows his face, not even for a single second." She wanted to scream but the rest of the district didn't deserve to hear her outrage.

Shawn grabbed the mouse of her computer and closed the program she was using to view the footage.

"Come on you and I are going to go to the florist and then we are going to Paper Source."

Camila's face twisted in confusion.

"Why are we going to Paper Source?" she asked, she could understand the trip to the florist but what did Paper Source have to do with the case?

"Last night I received a letter from the stalker. The logo from the store where it was purchased wasn't completely blacked out," he explained. "Want to guess which store it was?" he added with a hint of sarcasm.

"Paper Source."

"Bingo, now let's go."

The duo headed out of the district and into Shawn's car. The second they closed their doors Shawn sped off toward their first shop—Sweetheart Florist.

When they entered the store Shawn walked up to the nearest employee and gently tapped her shoulder.

The young woman jumped back in surprise but was quick to resort to her customer service demeanor.

"Hello, how may I help you?" she said with a smile so bright and unreal she looked like a barbie doll.

Shawn flashed his detective badge, "Good morning mam I'm detective Conan with the SFPD and this is my partner Detective Martin."

"How can I help you, detectives?"

"A suspect in our case bought roses from this establishment and had them delivered earlier today. We need to see the order I'm sure you have it on a system," Shawn said.

"Let me see if I can find it."

She led them to the back of the store where her office was situated. She took a seat at her computer and began typing and clicking on all sorts of buttons.

"The only delivery we had today was to a. . . Milinda Johnson."

"That's the one, who bought the flowers for her?"

She typed something in and the order sheet appeared. The woman looked at the screen with a puzzled expression, something about the form was confusing her.

She looked up at Shawn. "I'm sorry detective but what is your first name?"

Now it was Shawn and Camila's turn to be confused, what did his name have anything to do with the situation?

"Shawn, why are you asking?"

She turned back to the screen and pointed at the form.

"According to the purchase form the roses were bought by Shawn Conan. . . " She looked up at him again. "You bought the flowers."

Shawn sighed in frustration, of course, this guy wasn't going to give them his real name, and what better way to screw the investigation than use the name of the lead detective.

"Okay thank you for your time."

"Sorry I couldn't be of more help," she apologized.

"We aren't going to ask for security footage?" Camila asked as they headed toward the door.

"No cameras," Shawn huffed.

"I told you this guy is next-level careful," Camila sighed as they climbed into the car.

Shawn sighed and shook his head.

"Yeah, I don't know why I thought we would just him just like that."

"I feel the same way sometimes but who knows we might get lucky with the next shop."

"Let's hope so."

A little while later they pulled into the empty parking lot at Paper Source. The rain started to pour harder and without an umbrella, the pair had to resort to using their jackets to cover themselves as they ran into the store.

"It's summer where the fuck is this rain coming from?" Camila yelled which caused a few of the customers to stare at her with nasty looks but she didn't care.

"Just because it's summer doesn't mean it can't rain Cam."

"I know that but fuck that's a lot of rain."

Shawn laughed and shook off some raindrops that had settled on his jacket.

Together they went up to the woman behind the front counter who was far too busy playing on her phone and chewing bubble gum to notice them.

Camila who had the least patience of the two of them 'coughed' which immediately caught the woman's attention. She rolled her eyes and reluctantly placed her phone into her jacket pocket and then gave them the fakest smile either of them had ever seen.

"Welcome to Paper Source how may I be of assistance?" she droned out the question with no enthusiasm at all and it was at that moment that both Shawn and Camila decided that they had to get their business there done early so that they wouldn't have to deal with her for too long.

Shawn pulled out his badge and repeated that repetitive introduction that most cops have to do. "I'm detective Conan with the SFPD and this is my partner detective Martin. We need to speak to your manager."

"Sherry cops want to talk to you!" she yelled in the direction of the back office.

"Thank you for your help." Camila smiled but just like the woman it was a fake smile.

"Whatever," the woman grunted popping her earphones in and getting back to her game.

Another woman who they could only assume was Sherry came out from the back office and they were relieved to see that she was the complete opposite of her employee and greeted them with a genuine smile.

"I'm the manager but you can just call me Sherry. What can I help you with?"

"A suspect in our case bought a bunch of white envelopes with rose petals on them as well as some paper here at your store we need to see the purchase form and your security footage."

"I'm afraid we don't have any security cameras but I can get you a purchase form if you can follow me to my office."

Sherry led them to her office where she didn't waste any time and logged into her computer and searched for the purchase form.

"I'm sorry detectives but there were no orders for white envelopes that match your description or any sheets of paper."

For the second time today, Shawn was overcome with confusion.

"Are you sure your logo was on the envelope and the paper I received so I know they were bought here?"

"I'm sorry, there was no order." She shrugged.

"So much for being lucky," Camila sighed.

"Our system has been glitching lately so the order might not have been saved but Danielle should have a hard copy at the front desk."

They went back to the front desk and once again Danielle had to put her phone back into her pocket.

"Danielle, have you gotten any orders for our white rose enveloped lately and a couple of sheets of paper?" Sherry asked her.

"Nope," Danielle replied popping a small bubble she blew with the gum.

Shawn could tell she was lying and he didn't have time for it.

"Listen here lady the guy who ordered those envelopes and paper is a killer so I need you to tell me the truth. Did you get an order?"

Danielle remained silent for a few minutes but eventually, she broke due to Shawn's intense gaze.

"Some guy came in a few weeks ago and bought a bunch of the envelopes and some paper."

"Did you write down the order or try to put it in the system?" Camila asked.

Danielle shook her head. "He paid me three hundred dollars cash to keep it quiet."

Just when they thought they had something everything was swept away from under their feet and both Shawn and Camila sighed and shook their heads, Camila even muttered a few curse words under her breath.

"That's it Danielle you're fired," Sherry snapped.

"Fine, I don't even like working in this hell hole anyway!" Danielle yelled and without complaint started packing her stuff.

"Wait did you get his name or a good look at his face?" Shawn asked her before she could leave.

"I didn't get a name and he wore a mask." She shrugged. "He was tall though probably about six feet and he had this accent that I didn't recognize but it definitely wasn't American."

Shawn nodded his head and smiled at her.

"Thank you that might be a big help."

Climbing back into the car with no new leads was heartbreaking for both of them. At least they had some sort of a physical description of the man, tall and he had a foreign accent.

It wasn't much but it was a start.

The ride back to the district was silent and even when they got back to their desks they still didn't say anything to each other. Shawn stared at the board he was using to write down all the clues and so far it didn't have much on it.

"No clues, no name, no suspect. Today was a real fuck up," Camila sighed as she tossed her blue stress ball into the air.

"Yeah."

"But hey at least we know he's tall and has an accent."

Shawn's phone beeped, a message from Milinda popped up and his heart ached, he didn't want to have to go over and tell her how he was nowhere closer to finding her stalker.

Got more roses.

"Milinda got more roses, can you go to her?" Shawn asked.

"Sure," Camila instantly replied she didn't mind going to Milinda's place especially since she could see Akhona again.

I'm sending Camila.

Shawn replied and as Camila left he turned his attention back to his board trying to figure out how the few clues he had connected.

* * * *

Camila reached Milinda's place ten minutes later all thanks to the few speed limits she might have broken.

She rushed to the front door and before she could knock it swung open revealing the one face she had been thinking of all day. For a few seconds, the two women awkwardly smiled at each other.

They were both there for a reason, Akhona was providing comfort to her friend who was in danger from a stalker and Camila was there to collect the new evidence that was sent to her but neither woman could ignore the intense attraction they had for one another.

Right now wasn't the time to have a moment, Camila had been sent there to work so that was what she was going to do.

"Are you going to let me in?" Camila nervously laughed.

Akhona giggled and moved to the side to allow her in.

She ushered Camila to the kitchen where Milinda was sitting by her table, two more bouquets of roses laid in front of her. Akhona returned to her seat beside Milinda and started gently rubbing her back.

"How are you holding up?" Camila asked taking a seat across from the two women.

"As fine as I can be," Milinda replied with a shaky breath.

Camila examined the roses and saw that they had been sent from the same store as the first set.

"Twenty-three and four do those numbers mean anything to you?" She asked when she finished counting the roses.

"No, I mean they could but I don't know. I don't know what they mean," Milinda sniffled and furiously shook her head.

"Did you get a note?" Camila asked she could see Milinda wanted to break down but she had to get a few things out of the way before she could.

Milinda nodded and handed Camila the note she had received with the flowers.

I noticed you gave away the last two bouquets I sent you so here are some more. Roses are still your favorite flower, right?

Love, your Secret Admirer

"I'll take this to Shawn in the morning and the roses."

"No I want to keep the roses, maybe I'll remember what the numbers mean," Milinda said.

That wasn't the whole truth, she just didn't want to admit that she was scared the stalker would hurt her if he saw she didn't have these roses.

"Okay, but I'll still take the note," she said and shoved the note into her back pocket. "Don't worry we will get this guy," she added.

"Thank you." Milinda smiled. "Now I need some sleep can you both leave."

They knew that Milinda was only being this abrupt because she was scared and as much as they wanted to stay for a while and comfort her they also knew that they needed to give her some space.

"Sure," Camila replied.

"See you tomorrow."

After they left the apartment Camila and Akhona froze. Camila knew that she should leave before she did anything unprofessional but she also wanted to stay and spend some time with the angel of a woman beside her.

"Do you want to have a drink with me? I'm sure you need it?" Akhona asked.

"I would love to."

Camila knew that Shawn wouldn't have approved of her agreeing to go spend time with one of the people involved in their case but in the end, Akhona wasn't the victim or a suspect so there technically wasn't anything professionally wrong with having a drink.

Just one drink.

Akhona excitedly led Camila into her apartment and into the kitchen. Camila silently watched as Akhona rushed around the kitchen and grabbed two glasses and a bottle of what looked like some pretty decent wine. She used a knife to open the bottle and poured them each a glass.

Camila knew that wine isn't exactly a drink you should drown in one go but with the disappointing day she just had she needed that drink.

"Damn you did need that drink," Akhona laughed nearly choking on her sip.

"Yeah well, stressful day."

A smile formed on her face when she thought about how it wasn't just stress that lead her to down that glass of wine like it was a shot of vodka, she was nervous about being this close to such a beautiful woman who she was by far even more attracted to that she had been with any other woman she had ever met.

"Thank you I think you're beautiful as well." Akhona smiled and took another sip of her wine, a mischievous twinkle glistened in her eye.

Camila had never been one to blush when embarrassed but this was a completely different situation.

"Can I get another drink?" she asked and held out her glass.

For the next hour, Camila and Akhona finished the bottle of wine and half of another as they sat on the living room floor talking about a whole array of topics.

"Wait so you said that to everyone in your district, on your first day!" Akhona laughed.

Camila nodded and set her empty glass down so that she didn't drop it.

"I could see some of the guys were going to try fuck me so I wanted to let them know I was off-limits." She shrugged.

"Wow, I wish I had your bravery."

"You seem like a brave woman."

"You think so?" Akhona nervously smiled.

"Of course, you seem like the strong, independent woman who isn't afraid of taking what she wants." Camila leaned forward and playfully touched Akhona's shoulder.

"I'm not sure." Camila seemed surprised by the mischievous and lustful glint that suddenly appeared in Akhona's eyes.  "Right now I know what I want only I'm a little nervous to take it."

Camila had been in a situation like this before, she knew Akhona was only playing around with her. They were both throwing hints at each other for the last hour and now the tension that had been building between them had reached its full peak.

"What exactly is it that you want?" Camila whispered as she leaned closer and brushed her fingers against Akhona's bare leg.

It was like a firework had set off in each of them Akhona closed the gap between them and pressed her lips to Camila's.

After an hour of drinking wine, all the sexual hints as well as the fact that she couldn't stop thinking about Akhona every inch of self-control Camila had was broken away, and now all she could think about was how badly she wanted the woman who was kissing her.

She pressed her hands to each side of Akhona's face and kissed her back with such passion, such intensity that it surprised them both. Neither of them had ever wanted someone this bad and neither of the was going to let the night end with only a kiss.
