Explanation chapter haha

schizophrenia
a long-term mental disorder of a type involving a breakdown in the relation between thought, emotion, and behavior, leading to faulty perception, inappropriate actions and feelings, withdrawal from reality and personal relationships into fantasy and delusion, and a sense of mental fragmentation.

People with schizophrenia might hear, see, smell, or feel things no one else does. The types of hallucinations in schizophrenia include Auditory. The person most often hears voices in their head.

San showed signs of schizophrenia in the beginning, he was detached from his friend group. when they were at the sleepover san didn't want to be there, but he still wasn't used to that strange feeling he had which caused him to stay.

delusion
an idiosyncratic belief or impression that is firmly maintained despite being contradicted by what is generally accepted as reality or rational argument, typically a symptom of mental disorder.

psychosis

Psychosis is characterized by an impaired relationship with reality. It's a symptom of serious mental disorders. People who are experiencing psychosis may have either hallucinations or delusions. Some people with psychosis may also experience loss of motivation and social withdrawal.

social withdrawal = San ignoring his friends in the later chapters. the note, wooyoung, the leaves, the sounds he heard.

san wasn't followed at that time and when he "heard" someone step on leaves in chapter Y that was a hallucination.

hallucinations
an experience involving the apparent perception of something not present.

the leaves didn't happen in chapter Y, nor was San followed to begin with. as time went by he and everyone else didn't know he had schizophrenia because this was normal life for him and him being a quiet person everyone thought he was just shy.

when he told his friends about it as yunho said, they watched a scary movie and san was "scared" so they took it as that. they weren't able to get much into it because san started distancing himself from them so they lacked information of what really was happening.

the signs of schizophrenia he showed in the beginning of the story was the start of it fully developing and taking over his life getting bigger and bigger.

wooyoung wasn't real as we all saw. he was a made up character san came up with.

how wooyoung was created: when san was 4 and entered school for the first time; he didn't have friends. wooyoung was an imaginary friend he made up back then to fill in the empty gap. wooyoung disappeared as san grew up that's a normal thing usually :)

but san never made friends after wooyoung disappeared so he was by himself till yunho mingi yeosang seonghwa jongho and hongjoong came along. but again, he was detached from them as we always saw so he felt more lonely mentally.

as he got older (san and everyone is 17) his mind slowly brought wooyoung back. (when he created wooyoung wooyoung was also a child) so his mind made a grown wooyoung unknowingly. wooyoung only appeared a couple weeks after the whole panic of him being followed ( as i said in the chapter in which he appeared in)

but notice how san had a more uplifting mood when wooyoung was here? because even though he had forgotten this was his imaginary friend from years and years ago he thought of child wooyoung as a new person.

his inner mind was familiar with wooyoung which caused a sense of ease when he was with him because back then wooyoung was his source of comfort.

san didn't feel followed or stalked when with wooyoung. but felt it when he was with others. that was his mind playing tricks with him. wooyoung was never there when san was with his friends. the following feeling was just an invisible wooyoung that was all made up in his mind.

invisible wooyoung was what was creeping san out. the eyes san saw in the window? wooyoung. the stepping of leaves? wooyoung. the laughter outside? wooyoung. the yelling in sans mind? wooyoung.
san wouldn't have known this was wooyoung simply because he couldn't see him.

in chapter n i said san felt alone. yes, he had his friends there. but you know when you kinda just convince yourself you have nobody even though there's so many people surrounding you. it was always that situation for san. he felt like an outcast.

the note san received on his desk from wooyoung in chapter W was just another hallucination. the note never existed along with wooyoung being in the house :) i left little hints about woo not actually being there. san heard footsteps, but yunho didn't. if yunho has heard it he would've asked what it was but instead he only brushed off sans weird behavior and left :)

sans mother as i've said multiple times (okay i didn't but it was somewhat implied by his attitude) done something. san held that grudge against her throughout the book.

sans dad was never present throughout the story nor mentioned. san had a very good relationship with him. but his mother took that away and divorced him, going through that process and ended up with custody with san.

sans father tried everything to gain custody of him but nothing worked. he lost and was only able too see him on weekends. (sans father remarried causing him to move away)

his mother was a toxic human. she always neglected him. worked too much, went out at night. san had to do things by himself (as he aged)

why did sans mom start caring all of a sudden?

if you take note of people with schizophrenia it can be a danger to not only surrounding people but the person themselves if it's left untreated.

<this next part has nothing to do with sans mom starting to care but this is what would've happened if the hospital scenes weren't in the picture >

if i had went farther into the story wooyoung could've possibly had san killed. when san went into the hospital i wrote that wooyoung told him he was clear to go home. so he unplugged himself and was ready to go. but san was confused about why he couldn't go. like didnt wooyoung say he can leave? if i had let san leave in the story sooner or later i would've killed san off but since i love san and already did something in hostage i gave it a break LMAO

how did the paramedics get san into the hospital and is the way they got him allowed?

yes. but since this is fanfic i don't think this situation would ever happen but san is 17. minor. it's his moms decision as his guardian to allow them to take him since san isn't legal.

in chapter W i mentioned wooyoung WAS a year younger, but the boys never knew the last name. it was a completely different wooyoung:)

in chapter H i had the paramedics talk to wooyoung. but notice how i said san heard. of course this didn't actually happen but i just included it because it seemed fitting
