Chapter 9

Ren's plan was genius. We waited till midnight, so we would be harder to see. Which meant less of a chance of somebody calling a group of people called the police on us. We all split into 3 groups and search the whole building for entrances. If we found them we texted each other to alert the other groups. I didn't have a phone, so that was the other guys' jobs. The groups were as follows. Adam, Ty, Jason and Catt. Mitch, Jerome, Grey and Ren. Lastly, me, Quentin, Sam and Zoe.

Jason led us to the building where Mia's phone was last said to be according to him. It was an old abandoned looking warehouse. No where near as scary as the one I went in with Ian and Mia, but it still had a creepy vibe to it as most abandoned things do. We stopped in front of the house before the building under a streetlamp that cast a light over us almost like a spotlight.

"Alright, everyone stick with your group. Send the text when you find an entrance and if you run into Slender or... Something else, scream. We'll come to you." Ren said firmly. Everyone nodded and broke into their groups. I was about to join mine when Ren stopped me and quickly pulled me into a hug. "Don't die okay...?" He whispered. I hugged back and rubbed his back.

"I'll be okay, bro. Have a little more faith in me," A childish grin spread across my face. Ren smiled.

"Alright, let's get our friends back," he headed off toward his group and I followed after mine.

My group stayed around the front and one side. Adam's group had the back and Ren's group had the other side. The building was pretty large, so it was a bit unnerving not being able to see everyone. Most of the doors and windows were boarded up, but there had to be a way in somehow. Quentin and I debated trying to break off some of the boarding but it was way too strong. That and Sam reminded Quentin that that would be breaking and entering.

"It could also make a lot of noise, which is not what we want. That could get us noticed!" Zoe jumped in.

"Good point, let's keep looking. There has to be a way in somehow."

While they were conversating, I wandered a little bit ahead. Up ahead I noticed something shining in the moonlight so I crept over to investigate. It was a broken vent gate, lying on the ground. I peeked into the hole where it appeared to have come from and bingo, the vents were broken, leading into a room. "Hey guys!" I whisper shouted over to the others. "I think I found our way in."

They all looked up and ran over. Quentin pulled out his phone and sent a text to alert the others. Zoe bent down by me and looked inside the square shaped hole as well. "Bloody Hell, good job mate."

I smiled, Zoe talked different from Mia and her other friends, maybe she was from a different place?

Within a matter of minutes everyone had made their way to our location. "Good work team Mudkip." Adam said, running over.

Quentin opened his mouth to say something but shut it. Sam giggled. "You were about to correct him for calling you a fish weren't you?"

"Yeah..."

Adam grinned and Sam patted Quentin's head.

"Alright, we found the entrance into the building, but now we have to find the entrance to the basement." Ren instructed. "Basements tend to be sound proof to the outside world, no one would know him or his victims are here. Also, I don't want us splitting up this time. In case there's a proxy..."

"Well, let's go!" Mitch cried, diving into the hole. We all had to go one at a time because it was so small. Eventually we all got through and began wandering around the building. Checking doors and what not. Ninety percent of them led into smaller rooms or bathrooms. Some were boarded shut or just lead to nothing.

As we were walking around searching for doors that we hadn't opened, Grey tripped on... Well, nothing and went tumbling into another door, opening it. The door had stairs leading down. Grey's face turned a dark shade of red as Mitch helped her back to her feet.

"Grey, your klutziness is good for something." Catt smirked.

"Sh-shut up," Grey shot back.

"Either way you found the basement," Ren said. "Let's just hope you didn't wake whatever is down there."

The strange girl lead us into a very different room. It was lit up with a bright yellow light, and the walls and floor were covered in blood, wet and dry. It smelt of death and in the corner lay the corpses of animals, ranging from squirrels to stray cats and dogs. I felt sick to my stomach. I glanced over at Ian and the look of horror on his face was similar to someone in a horror movie finding their friend dead.

She forced us into chairs, which she tied us too, my wrists to the arms of the chair and Ian's behind him. Ian glared daggers at her. "What do you want? Why did you bring us here?"

She grinned. "Slender gave me permission to practice my knife skills on something that isn't an animal."

My heart skipped a beat and I saw Ian shift uncomfortably. She was gonna kill us. I mean, better this than becoming a proxy. But I'm not ready to die yet. Not without a fight. She flipped out a pocket knife and gently ran it across our faces. "Now, which of you do I want to-" she was cut off by a large banging noise, echoing down the basement. She pulled her knife away from my throat and let out a growl. "I'll be back,"and she was out of the room in a blur.

"Mia? You alright?" Ian asked.

"Er, yeah," I squirmed and wriggled my wrists in an attempt to get them free from the bounds. Only, that girl tied a very tight knot. There was no way I was squirming out. "What do you think that noise was?"

"In all honesty, either another person like her, or possibly our friends."

I smirked. "About time, if she would've got any closer I would've started screaming bloody murder."

Ian let out a chuckle. "Yeah, I bet. Now," he scooted his chair closer toward mine. In his pocket I saw the handle of an unopened pocket knife. "Can you help me get this out of my pocket?"

Ren and I slowly made our way down the stairs after Grey's amazing skills of walking. Ren stayed in front in case anything came running our way. The place wasn't exactly bustling with activity though. Maybe Slender went to a party.

At the end of the stairs was a dim lit room. All the walls were concrete grey and only a single light bulb hung from the ceiling. It swung back and forth slowly, making a very slight creaking sound. On the other end of the room there was a single hallway that was pitch black. Unfortunately, that was the only way we could go. Adam just about ran down the hallway yelling freedom when Ren grabbed him by the back of his shirt and pushed him back by Ty and Jason. Just as he did, a girl flung out of the darkness at me. I let out a yelp and scrambled to dodge her as she swung a knife at my face. I felt it cut my cheek. Not deeply, but enough to draw blood. "Rin!" My brother cried. She swung at me again, this time I was able to dodge.

"I'm okay!" I assured, dodging another slice at my throat. I kicked her feet out from under her, she did a backwards somersault and slashed at my torso. It sliced through the shirt and the skin, dang it, how was I gonna explain this to Ian? I ruined one of his shirts. In my slight panic, she managed to get back up and lunge at me again, tackling me to the ground. She rose her knife ready to swing down and I quickly grabbed her wrist and kept her from swinging. "Ergh, Ren! L-little-" I didn't have to finish, Ren was already there, grabbing the girl and pulling her off of me. He pulled away the knife and trapped her hands behind her back. She growled and tried to squirm but Ren had the grip of alligator, he wasn't one to let go easily.

"Who're you?" Ren demanded.

"Why should I tell you?" She scoffed.

"Because I could break both of your arms right now," Yeah, Ren can get a little dark when he has too, but can't everybody?

The girl looked up at me and at Ren. "I recognize you two. He warned me you might come."

"Where are our friends?" I asked, getting right up in her face.

"Go find them yourself." She growled.

Ren twisted her arms a bit more and I watched her face twist in pain, but she didn't make a noise. Catt and Zoe wandered down the hall quite aways, and Zoe called for us to come over. We all made our way to Zoe's voice and she and Catt stood in front of a large metal door. "You can put this bitch in here till we find our friends." Zoe said.

"Zoe! Language!" Catt cried.

"Honey, this is a circumstance I am allowed to swear as bloody much as I want!"

Catt opened her mouth to argue but closed seeing her point. Ren shoved the girl into the room and shut it and locked it. I could tell he was getting nervous and angry, his eyes were very dark. "Let's go, I just hope we aren't too late." He muttered and took off down the hall. I let the others go in front of me so I took up the rear.

We searched room after room and after not finding anything or anyone we were beginning to get frustrated. Suddenly, we heard a large bang from down the hall we were going down. Ren took down it and into a room with brighter lights, I heard a gasp of relief. "I found them!" Everyone rushed into the room.

I managed to get Ian's pocket knife out of his pocket but it fell down onto the floor. He tried leaning over to get it, but ended up falling over in his chair. When we heard footsteps come down the hallway I tensed thinking we were busted, but when it was Ren that came through the door I felt a huge weight let off my shoulders. "Oh my gosh! Ren!" I cried.

He sighed of relief. "I found them!" He called into the hallway and soon everyone flooded into the room. Ren ran over, picked up Ian's pocket knife and cut through the ropes setting us free. My friends all ran over to me and the YouTuber's ran over to Ian. Rin even walked over and hugged the both of us. Ren stayed by the door and kept watch.

"How did you find us?"

"Jason tracked your cell phone!" Adam said with a grin.

"You were able to track it?!"

Jason smiled. "Of course! You were in the right spot at the right time."

"Okay, I realize you're happy to be reunited but we have to get out of here... I have a bad feeling." Ren said.

I nodded. "Agreed, let's get out of here."

I stood up and Adam shakily helped Ian to his feet. "Let's get you out of here, man."

Ian let out a small smile and Adam and Quentin began helping him out of the room. Rin lead the way through the halls back to the entrance with Ren watching the back. Rin suddenly stopped at the open door that was my cell. "Uh oh,"

Ren poked his head out from the back to see what the holdup was and his eyes widened. "Rin! Keep going! We'll be fine,"

Oh, will you? Everyone froze at the voice and we all slowly turned around to see Slender along with the girl from earlier at his side.

"Rin! Go!" Ren screamed.

Rin yelped and broke into a run toward the entrance. Adam scooped up Ian and the rest of us followed after him with Ren trailing behind. Slender's eerie laugh echoed behind us and we raced up the steps. Ren being the last one up, shut the door behind him.

"You guys get out of here! I'll hold them off!" He called.

Rin skidded to a stop. "What? No! I'm not leaving you here!"

"Rin, for once in your life please listen to me!" Ren's eyes were pleading, while Rin's were wide and full of fear.

It all happened in a flash. Slender appeared behind Ren. Rin and I opened our mouths to scream for him to move, but it was too late. It seemed to go into slow motion but super fast at the same time. Slender's tentacles sprout out of his back, Ren started to turn around. All of Slender's tentacles went through him...

Rin jolted. His eyes widening and welling up with tears. "REN!"

Ren made a choking sound. Blood dripped off of Slender's tentacles. A tiny smile appeared on Ren's lips. "Go. Live for me little brother. Survive and win!"

Slender ripped his tentacles apart outward, making Ren 'explode' only instead of guts and gross stuff he turned to dust. The only thing left was his black scarf, as it slowly fluttered to the ground. "NOOO!" Rin screamed, his voice cracking, his legs trembled and Mitch had to scoop him up. I quickly shoved the rest of the group to run. I felt tears well up in my eyes as Slender's haunting words filled my ears. That's what happens to traitors.

A/N: I-I did a thing. Are you proud of me mom? I killed a character! This one's pretty long XD I hope you liked it. I got chills and cried at the death scene sooooo... Yeah XD
