Norse mythology is one of inconsistencies and half-truths, but there's ONE legend that has a small amount of evidence, yet this myth is open to interpretation.

A lost tribe of Vikings in Iceland believed Loki, the "Norse God of Mischief", committed one final injustice against his family. He made a tool that would allow him to treat any mortal as his puppet. Into this artifact, he poured his hatred, dishonor, and defiance (in short, his whole wicked nature).

He dubbed his creation... "The Mask", possibly the "most powerful object in all creation", for any who wear this facial decor will gain the "powers" of the false Norse gods, but ultimately eats the wearer's soul slowly as the price.

When Odin, Loki's father, found out about this, he cast his own son into the mortal world...

However, in an effort to get the last laugh, Loki made the Mask indestructible. No magic or physical strength could destroy it, so it was tossed into the mortal realm, known as Earth. There it remains, locked from mortal hands... UNTIL NOW!
